Mario Kart Live vs Cats

Any cat owners receiving their shiny new copy of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit today were probably already worrying about how their feline friends would adapt to a new, speedy Mario kart boosting around the living room. As you might expect, early indicators reveal that it's not going well.

The thing's only been in people's hands for a few hours, but some folk are already sharing clips of their cats reacting to their hooman's new toy. Some cats are simply inquisitive rather than upset by the whole thing, such as these adorable little fluffballs from IGN's Janet Garcia and Instagram user @monst13:

But things aren't going as smoothly for others. Twitter user @yamanoneko_23 might not have any Mario kart left if this keeps up:

In this full two minute video, we see a cat that's definitely less than impressed with the new family addition. To be fair to the poor thing, its owner seems insistent on chasing it around the house and we're surprised it didn't swat Mario out of existence to teach them a lesson.

Possibly our favourite, though, is this one from Daniel Vuckovic of Vooks. Here, a cat can be found bopping Luigi in the face at every given opportunity, while a dog shows an absolute lack of interest, perfectly summing up the contrast between the two animals.
