Re: Random: 'Grunty's Mansion' Is The Banjo-Kazooie X Luigi's Mansion Hack We Didn't Know We Needed

stevenw45

nice game, but only a 7/10 (sorry).

first of all, Grunty should have said that she "stole" the mansion instead of finding it; after-all the mansion belonged to King Boo and was meant as a trap for Mario and Luigi...

putting a 2D platformer into a 3D platformer felt really out of place even though it was a great touch. if Banjo-Kazooie had their own 2D platformer, it may just make a very interesting game.

adding toad into the game was very unexpected but was a great addition. i feel as though he could have made multiple appearances like he did in the original Luigi's Mansion.

why hasn't Microsoft tried to hire these guys that make great mods and add them to our great collection of Banjo-Kazooie games. the first two are not enough. i don't want to plays these ROMs on an emulator; i would like to have an official release on the XBOX and the Nintendo Switch for them.

the cap, star, glove, and the other two Mario items should have been hidden throughout the game. Luigi's Mansion was about collecting treasure; it would be nice to see it added. unfortunately the note collecting felt limited due to how small the mansion was.

it may have been better if Banjo-Kazooie had the option of exploring the whole mansion and try to keep it so that every room has its own theme. having more places to explore would make for greater game play.

it would also be interesting for Banjo-Kazooie to have to collect the different keys to get from room to room as well; than we can find a way to add in more Jiggies and notes. the mansion would be the central hub for the levels instead of Grunty's mansion in the original game.

i was somewhat disappointed that not all of the Banjo-Kazooie baddies and goodies (pun intended) made it into the game, but not all of them are needed or wanted.

i think seeing some of the portrait ghosts would have been nice, but that may be asking for way too much afterall weren't the N64 Karts limited to 64MB while the Game Cube Mini-DVDs limited 1.44GB? there might be someone out there willing to spend there time to add and make these changes.

it may have been interesting to see more transformations in the game, the pumpkin was good enough. can anyone think of a way to add in more transformation?

sorry if i am complaining, but i can just think of dozens of ways to make this game better and yet, i can only think of a few thing to make the original game better; one of those ideas being being able to play the Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie worlds side by side with each one effecting the other.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Joins Switch Online's Expansion Pack This Week

stevenw45

the only upside to the XBOX version of the game is the update to the note collection system. (it makes the game a lot easier) i also noticed a few small changes and fixes that make the game easier.

for all we know Nintendo might be giving us an updated version of the game with the change implemented; along side of an updated version of Banjo-Tooie. hopefully we we get both games on the same day instead of having to wait who knows how long to see them both on Nintendo Switch Online.

with all of the trouble they are going through with Banjo-Kazooie to release it on Nintendo Switch Online; they might be better off porting the trilogy over to the Nintendo Switch (with updates).

Re: Back Page: After Spending $70B On Activision Blizzard... What If Microsoft Buys Nintendo Next?

stevenw45

this article has some very interesting dialog that will never happen, but a possible buyout makes a great what if for if Microsoft does manage to buyout Nintendo.

first what if: the merger leads to the Nintendo XBOX which will be compatible with all Nintendo console games. (GameCube and newer. lets not waist their time emulating hardware that allows for the physical usage of gaming carts)

second what if: Microsoft somehow takes down Sony and wins the console wars and gets split-up into different companies due to anti-monopoly laws.

third what if: Microsoft somehow takes down Sony and wins the console wars and finds loop-holes in the anti-monopoly laws.

forth what if: Microsoft gets a bit too cocky and makes a big mistake causing them to unnecessarily lose millions of dollars.

Re: Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard, Now Owns Call Of Duty And Crash Bandicoot

stevenw45

@Specter_of-the_OLED

i know; that's why i said "take down" and not "boy out". besides, i don't think Microsoft is interested in purchasing Sony. besides, both companies do business in other markets outside of gaming (a.k.a. the console wars). either way, its impossible for one company to buy out the other without creating a monopoly.

for all we know the two companies are enjoying the competition between each other and possibly a (theoretical and made up) game of chicken in which may lead to an unwanted monopoly...lmao

Re: Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard, Now Owns Call Of Duty And Crash Bandicoot

stevenw45

i wonder how long it will take until Microsoft tries to buy out Nintendo (again)? lol

its either that or Microsoft is getting ready to take down Sony and win over the majority of the gaming market. however them owning 80% of the gaming Market is a bad idea especially since they are already at a risk of being a monopoly.

thankfully Nintendo is safe (for now) since they are currently good friends with Microsoft. so it seems as though Sony may be the first to drop out of the console wars; well the second if you decide to include Sega which dropped out many years ago. i forget how many years ago it was, but it feels like its been 20 years.

Re: Analyst Predicts 2024 Release Date For Next-Gen Nintendo Switch Successor

stevenw45

if we get a Nintendo Switch Pro, or a next-gen Nintendo Switch, i would like a dedicated variant of the console with possible backwards compatibility with games from older consoles.

i have several Nintendo gaming consoles, it would be nice to have one that is cross-compatible with current generation games and past generation games.

and yes, i know it may be too much to ask since Nintendo may never do so unless for some odd reason they decide to partner up with Microsoft. eventually we will see more than just Banjo-Kazooie on Nintendo systems once again. (poor Rareware, it just had to be eaten by a giant in which wants it all.)

Re: Mario Kart 9 Is "In Active Development" And Comes With A "New Twist", Analyst Claims

stevenw45

i wonder what the twist will be. maybe they will be mixing elements from the different Mario games into one.

as many might have noticed, the game mechanics have changed over the years and differ from game to game. mixing and matching game mechanics from the different Mario Kart games might be interesting.

or adding additional racing cups; like creating a rainbow road cup which includes every version of rainbow road from new to old. then they would have the Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Bowser cups (and more) with each course following the gaming mechanics from the version of Mario Kart in which they wee introduced or even have the option to pick which game play mechanics you would like to use.

they could even add elements from Paper Mario. just imagine a race course or two that follow the rules of the paper Mario universe instead of the traditional racing mechanics. the different Karts being able to fold up into different shapes or designs in order to get past certain obstacles.

or trying to bring in elements from Mario Kart live home circuit or even Mario Kart tour. i like the seasonal changes to the different tracks.

for all we know they could add compatibility with the Wii-Remotes. besides they added N64 controller options to the system.

Re: Reminder: The Luigi's Mansion LEGO Sets Are Now Available

stevenw45

@kukabuksilaks

this was a bit of a rhetorical question, but thanks for the answer i was more so hoping that someone would post a picture of Mario or Luigi using the poltergust with the animations in use.

i have work so i won't be able to play with the different sets until the weekend. and i don't think Walmart will let me put up Lego displays up in the store even if it becomes a best seller.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Is Getting Jiggy With Nintendo Switch Online In January

stevenw45

@MortalKombat2007

they can implement the feature because they can. besides it would be nice to see the feature in the N64 version. it took them about 10 years to before the Stop n Swap showed up on the xbox 360. i think 20 years is enough time to wait to see it on a Nintendo system.

either way its just nice to banjo-kazooie on a Nintendo system once again. it only took 20 or so years so why not go all out?

Re: Random: These Incredible Animal Crossing Animated Shorts Are Essential Viewing

stevenw45

the clown had it coming....lol i didn't know we could even buy gasoline or was that item put in just for the arson we can't commit but always wanted to.

i am stuck having Pietro on my island. I'm only letting him stay because i don't want to go through the trouble of finding a new villager. its too bad he never actually puts on a performance; it might make a good show to watch, after all K.K. slider may want a break from his weekly performance.

Re: Yes, The Nintendo 64 Controller For Switch Has Rumble

stevenw45

i never used the rumble pack for the Nintendo 64 except in Super Smash brothers. i hope that the feature can be disable. i don't want the feature in Super Mario 64 and a few other games, but that just might be me.

also, i wonder what games would work with the new controller? possibly Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion?

@SamirMalik you probably can. some companies have bad Bluetooth controllers for the N64 so give or take certain things it should work. i might even give it a try myself.

Re: Happy Home Paradise Unveiled For Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Paid DLC Or In NSO Expansion Pack

stevenw45

so, what will be the difference between the paid DLC and the NSO version of the expansion pack?

if we purchase the DLC will we get a discount on the NSO subscription? is the DLC included in the NSO subscription or does the NSO subscription add a service of some type to the paid DLC? or whatever the case may be.

unfortunately for me (and Nintendo), i'm only interested in the Nintendo 64 games and not anything else from the expansion pack.

Re: Talking Point: Should We Be Worried About Screen Burn-In With Switch OLED?

stevenw45

i have only had screen burn-in two or three times. the first time was on a TV that i got in the early 2000s and i complained more when it gave out after 7 years; it took 6 years before it had burn-in issues. of course then, this was back when me, my dad, and my two sisters obsessively played animal crossing for hours on end. i don't think its a good idea to leave a TV on for 15+ hours a day.

one of my older laptops ended with screen burn-in, but I'm not sure how that happened since i always had it in a docking station configuration.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Final Fighter Is... Kingdom Hearts' Sora!

stevenw45

i think Mickey Mouse would make a better fighter than Sora. I just think it may be interesting to see Mickey Mouse fighting along side the different super smash bros characters. unfortunately, only Mario, and Banjo & Kazooie would stand a chance in a fight against Mickey Mouse; the other fighters shall cry in defeat...lol

Re: Switch's N64 Controller Is Hiding Some Extra Buttons

stevenw45

the additional buttons are useful; now its only missing the "select" button, but its not needed if i'm only going to use it for Nintendo 64 games. either way, the controller will still work with many Nintendo Switch games including the upcoming Mario Party games in which includes content from the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games. maybe the game will have an exclusive Nintendo 64 controller mode or something.

Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis Expansion Pack Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

stevenw45

i can't believe Banjo-Kazooie is on the list does that mean Banjo-Tooie is on the list as well? or maybe a deluxe version of Banjo-Kazooie with both of the games. does anyone remember how large the N64 cartridges are? i think they were 64MB and both Banjo-Kazooie games are small enough to fit on one cartridge. (including updates for if Microsoft and Nintendo wanted to do so.)

i guess Banjo's and Kazooie's dialog for the stop 'N' Swop items will have to be updated (assuming they have the Stop 'N' Swop system in the Nintendo Switch Online version.) how old are the eggs now? in the xbox version they are about 10 years old; now they are over 20 years old. I guess Banjo and Kazooie got their wish and will get to see their 20th birthday (or however old they are now)...lol we don't want to wait another 10 years to see more Banjo-Kazooie games. Banjo-Threeie would be nice...lol

hopefully Heggy will have some good bonus items waiting for us in the Stop 'N' Swop eggs; like being able to go back and forth between the N64 and xbox 360 note collecting mechanics. or the addition of bottles revenge. or better yet, Banjo-Threeie.

i wonder if Nintendo will update the game so that the N64 logo walks across the screen like it did in the good old days. unfortunately, Microsoft removed that in the xbox version.

Re: Nintendo Is Releasing N64 And Sega Genesis Wireless Controllers

stevenw45

Hopefully Nintendo will include the expansion pack port on the new version of the new controller. we may need it if we want to play games like Pokemon stadium. those nifty expansion packs and other n64 controller accessories were required for some games. unfortunately some of those games will receive updates as a work around.

it would also be nice if Nintendo will releases color variants of the controller. we had color options for the system back in the day and it would be great to see them again.

Re: Rumour: Insider Says N64 Is Coming To Switch Online, Believes It Will Introduce A "Higher-Priced" Subscription Tier

stevenw45

I would be fine if Nintendo raises the price of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription. currently it is only about $35.00 per year for the family (up to 8 people) subscription and $20.00 a month for an individual subscription.

its a better deal than the xbox game pass considering that it is about $15.00 a month. xbox may have more games, but the Nintendo switch is cheaper and has more games of interest; at least for me. besides, it might give me a reason to start using the service again.

besides, i already know which games i would like to see.
1)Super Mario 64
2)Super Smash Brothers
3)Mario Kart 64
4, 5, & 6)Mario Party, Mario Party 2 &, Mario Party 3
7)possibly a few Legend of Zelda games
8 & 9)Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie (assuming Microsoft will allow it. at least then we may see a return of the stop N Swop feature)

Re: Super Mario 64 LEGO '?' Block Revealed, Out In October

stevenw45

this looks like a great Lego set. a 2000+ lego piece count should be a challenge.

i hope that they will release other super Mario 64 themed levels as well. for example they could create a scale lego model of Big Boo's Haunt. the level is basically a world in a cage hidden in a boo. (the set may end up being 8000+ pieces)

Lego and Nintendo could create an entire Lego set around it.

the base of the set will be Boo, with many levels and sub-levels inside.

the main level of the set inside the cage is what Mario sees when he enters the level including the haunted house, the coins, the spiders, and the other building.

lower level one will be the paths that Mario takes to in order to get to Boos merry-go-round. which includes the elevator shaft and the alternate paths to boos merry-go-round.

then there will be the basement level which includes Boos merry-go-round, and the path to the elevator.

the two building should be made so that they can be opened up so that Lego Mario can get inside them, which will include the power caps, coins (red, blue, and gold), books, piano, eyes, boos, red coin star location, as well as a power star for Mario to collect.

Re: Video: Check Out This Fan-Made Remaster Trailer For Banjo-Kazooie

stevenw45

the videos are greatly done; however, i feel as though there are some stuff missing and incomplete. that just might be me, or the creator of these videos is a tad bit of a perfectionist and is holding back on us since he doesn't want to disappoint us when the final project is done.

for all we know, the creator of these videos could be working with Microsoft and Nintendo right now creating the remastered version of the game. a lot of work to go, but i think it can be done.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch 'Pro' Reveal Expected Before E3, Out This Year

stevenw45

i recently had to upgrade my original nintendo switch to the slightly updated SKU due to heating issues and scream warping issues. it might be too soon to upgrade to a newer model; mostly since i have the animal crossing edition of the Nintendo Switch. however, it will be good to have a spare unit or a gift for someone in need.

Re: Random: What If Nintendo Made A LEGO Mario Kart Game?

stevenw45

the new rainbow road looks as though it was taken from Pikmin 2.

either way the Lego Mario Kart videos makes me want Nintendo to release more Lego Super Mario sets; as well as new characters and content for Mario Kart Home Circuit. Mario and Luigi are not enough.

Re: eShop File Size Of Nintendo's New Switch Title Game Builder Garage Revealed

stevenw45

finally, an easy way to make a game for a Nintendo system. i haven't done so in years. i modded the Game donkey kong Jr. Math.

since it is an educational game, i decided to add more additional types of math. why should i be limited to basic math which is limited to stuff like 2 and 2 always equally 4 when i can add stuff to the game so that children can enjoy (and easily) learn algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and other types of math.

why limit the game to the basics when you can create a fun challenge from it. i could post it to the web for all who would be interested in it, but than i would get in trouble with Nintendo and i do not want that.

hopefully game builder garage will have great potential. its too bad that the different Nintendo characters can't make an appearance and its too bad that it will be limited to create 2D side-scrolling levels.

instead of releasing this; Nintendo should just create an update to Super Mario Maker 2 for advanced level creation; as well as the ability to create 3D levels. it would be the best of both worlds.

Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying

stevenw45

and yet, the biggest issue with my Nintendo Switch is somehow the screen became warped. it was most likely from heating issues. eventually the thing started to over heat and shut itself off every 15 to 20 minutes of game play so i ended up having to get a new one.

on the plus side; i have never had the joy-con drift problem, although one of my joy-cons arrived with a defective battery, but that was easily fixed.

if they release a Switch Pro model; i would either like it to be a dedicated console version or a better screen in which one have warping issues. i never use the damn thing in handheld mode, so it having a screen is useless for me; but either way the systems LCD should not have screen warping issues or an LCD that can cause the system to overheat.
