@SBandy1 i see things like "Kirby should be apologising to me for being in such an unappealing game!" and, tongue in cheek or not, it doesn't come off as not being totally straight. initial reaction is still "one of those kinds of people", you gotta be clear with intention sometimes, we're stupid.
but no duh, i was more making fun of that other dude. i don't get why people like that exist. it's kirby, for god's sake. if you don't wanna play it, you're chill, just as i don't have to convince you to like it, they shouldn't convince others why they shouldn't buy it.
air riders article comments are fun if you're looking for people who confuse "game is not for me" with "game is terrible you communist ***** should be ashamed of your tastes".
@Lizuka i truly cannot put into words how much this comment sucks. completely misinterpreting sakurai's character as if we don't have years upon years of info on his work + ethics, directly contradicting the article you are on where he pretty much says he doesn't want to be a brand... and while his level of ramble is debatable, it's grossly exagggerated to say they say nothing useful.
normally your comments aren't this bad, what the hell did sakurai do to you and/or your family?
@Alckemy apologies for being a normal person on the internet, i guess? like i know that's the whole joke but i really don't care, i just wanna talk like a normal person regardless this moral ground may be totally useless to the average comment section but it's not too hard to stand on.
anyways i still think some people have their emotions too tied up in the whole thing. metroid isn't "just" isolation, people pretend it is, as if dread or prime 3 or other m didn't exist. you don't get to decide what is and isn't metroid despite the series clearly being open to other living characters existing besides samus. we can debate how annoying companions like these are all day, but the main argument past that feels thin to me.
@Alckemy just as people have emotional attachment to the game and praying that it's good, clouding their judgement, the same can be said for those that moreso care that this game sells well. it creates the same situation as when people were freaking out about this game not getting much promotional material, where emotional connection makes us all irrationally cautious about a product and its quality.
point is, we aren't just complaining about complainers, we're trying to play devil's advocate so that hopefully they see beyond their initial reaction. articles like these are called "doomer" for a reason - they irrationally guessed about the quality of the entire game based on a small portion with very little else to go off of. there's nothing wrong with trying to break a potential echo chamber in the comments. the way you phrase your comment almost feels as if you take issue with that idea.
i sorta question the praising of how non-clicky the buttons are, because that just reminds me of the rock band controllers and how... strange and mushy they felt to play, doesn't really work well when you wanna get better at that stuff. the strum bar especially felt so off.
sure, it doesn't have to be unbearably loud, but those gh3 les pauls feel very good to strum and kinda need that bit of click to be as responsive as they are.
@Yosher i wanna hope that's just the pokemon company being the pokemon company, cause i think even nintendo understands ~80 dollars for this game is silly.
edit: ...though it's still strange that it then converts to ~60 usd. weak yen shenanigans i guess.
love the fight going on in here of the boycotters and the people who literally will refuse to try and understand why people care and would rather just fight about it.
under "adjust hdr", you can now press y to show the current peak brightness value!
i don't know of what type, just... a number!
edit: based on the range displayed being 80-10000, i'm going to assume it's showing the current peak brightness in nits, which would make it much easier to match your tv set's peak brightness i think.
already comments here who think this will be 40 minutes or something. no, they just call most of their premieres directs. they aren't always full presentations.
i also want to peek in and say how annoying it is when people are like "just add an easy mode, how hard could it be?" okay, what do you want easier, the combat or platforming? how do you go about making the combat easier? does it make sense if all two-hits are only one hit when there's plenty of enemies and attacks that already do one damage? how does one make the platforming more simple? just make a new version of the map, so easy!
there's way more variables to consider than many of you would like to admit. they're better off just sticking to their original vision, and if that upsets you, go install some mods, that's why those are allowed to exist.
definitely explains why this game runs so well, i know people will come up with a million excuses but this is a pretty good-looking racing game to still hold 60fps with how fast everything is. in-house is king

Re: Japanese Charts: Well, Look At Who's Snuck Back Into First Place
@Misima i will say, if you're at all an artist of the art or animation variety, you'll most likely love this game way more than you reasonably should.
im one of those people it's so easy to gawk at this game sometimes
Re: Switch Indie Title 'Crypt Of The NecroDancer' Receives A Switch 2 Fix
@BrokenCiv maybe, but this isn't exactly the place to ask about that.
Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.4.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@LightSpirit it wasn't a claim, it genuinely is a lot more common than it used to be, you're just unlucky.
though why they don't guarantee at least one 3-lap still, i don't get.

Re: Nintendo Has Scheduled Maintenance For 3DS Later Today
nice job, everyone who immediately assumed this was prep for an update to mess with homebrew stuff again.
the 3ds hasn't had any system updates since 2023. the 3ds, in fact, is so dead that repairs are effectively over at this point.
just stop, please
Re: Kirby Air Riders: The Best Custom Machines We've Seen So Far
@PikaPhantom yes, it's on the details screen when you select a star on the market.
Re: Kirby Air Riders In-Game Events Are Planned To Run For A Year After Launch
maybe this is also a roundabout way of saying general updates will probably stop after a year, maybe even including balance changes

@Fighting_Game_Loser them barely bringing up that mode makes me think they just thought of this last minute and added it cause they felt like it

@1Kismet see the updated post. apparently that was a translation error, they were talking about a change on the hdr adjust screen.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 21.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Misima ...what?
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 21.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
extra thing they didn't show in the patch notes:

@Misima not if you didn't have the virtual card loaded.

@PikaPhantom just the default icon. switch 2 carts actually use a different icon compared to the switch 1 carts, though.
