Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th September)

You should sort out these polls threads properly, the way sometimes you can vote for five games and others (like now) just one is kind of annoying.

Anyway, as for me:

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar - still absolutely loving this one, easily the best game in the series. Kate Gray really hit the nail on the head.

Monster Train 2 - my most played game of the year so far and I'd comfortably say the best roguelite deckbuilder ever, now with with a new patch with a bunch of balance changes and fifteen new cards.

Hollow Knight - still making my way through it before I tackle Silksong. Absolutely loving it all over again, maybe even more than the first time.

Might pick up the Bravely Default remaster too, which I put on pause for the last few days, or Kirby blah blah blah: Star-Crossed World, I grabbed the upgrade pack the other day but have barely touched it yet.

Re: Should You Play Hollow Knight Before Silksong?

I was undecided between replaying Hollow Knight and jumping straight into Silksong, and eventually ended up deciding I'd replay it, and I'm glad I did because I'm having a blast with it all over again. Also really don't mind letting the first couple of patches hit Silksong before I start it, so not really in a rush to play it.

Re: Review: Roadwarden (Switch) - A Fascinating And Quite Special Text-Based RPG

I was already interested in this game but this review really sealed the deal for me, it seems so interesting.

Just a question to anyone who played it - does the Switch version have in-game achievements? I just figured those would be a good way to keep track of what you haven't done, so it'd be nice if it did, since obviously the achievement system from other platforms isn't available here.

Re: Review: Story Of Seasons: Grand Bazaar - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - The Series' Best Remake Yet

This seems really good, I was thinking of getting in on sale but it might just go ahead and buy it now. The bazaar aspect seems like a really fun twist on this type of game.

For anyone who played it, do you know how grindy the relationship aspect is? One thing I'm not a fan of in these games is how it can take years of gift giving to max character affinity, especially when there are quests tied to affinity levels. I played Doraemon: Story of Seasons a while back and ended up just watching the final batch of character quest cutscenes on Youtube because it'd take absolute ages to actually unlock them myself.

Re: Atari To Acquire 'SteamWorld' Dev Thunderful

There's a mistake in this article, the SteamWorld game that fell "slightly below sales expectations" is Build, not Heist II, as per the link.

Anyway hopefully things will become better for the studio now, they make some really great games. SteamWorld Heist II was excellent and I mean to get The Eternal Die when it goes on sale, the first one was great.

@Aispen framerate isn't really something I play much mind to, but here even if it seems a bit inconsistent sometimes it's definitely a whole lot smoother than on the Switch 1. I was walking around the homebase yesterday, talking to merchants etc and the differences were very noticeable. The most annoying part playing on the Switch 1 was the delay when checking the menu or talking to merchants, which thankfully isn't a thing anymore. It just looks way nicer too. I'd already completed the game on the Switch 1, but hadn't played the three DLCs yet, so looking forward to doing that on the Switch 2.
