Update [Wed 20th Jul, 2022 15:25 BST]: As we promised, the English version of this big eight-minute overview has just been published, and we've got it right here to show you.
There are no differences between this and the Japanese version posted just a few weeks ago, but it does give us a really good idea of what the English voice cast will sound like. Plus, you can just watch the whole eight minutes all over again and have a better understanding of what's going on.
Here's the English trailer below.
Original Article [Fri 8th Jul, 2022 04:35 BST]: One of the biggest releases in games this month is Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Yes, the anticipated RPG series by Monolith Soft is finally back for a third outing on the Nintendo Switch.
If you're curious to see more or aren't quite convinced yet - Nintendo's Japanese YouTube Channel has now released an extensive overview trailer that runs for eight whole minutes. Although it's in Japanese, you should still be able to enjoy the cutscenes and gameplay footage on display.
Note: An English version of this video will likely be made available later this month. We'll update you if one is released.
If you would like to learn more about this upcoming release, we've also gone hands-on with the game ahead of its July 29th launch. Pre-orders have also gone live.

Yeah I'll have to wait for the English as I don't speak Japanese or weeb as some say
The game looks amazing, although I suspect the combat is a little too complicated for me personally.
They really want us to buy this game, hm?
I only watched the release trailer. And won’t watch anything else. Want to go in as blind as possible.
@TKundNobody Exactly the same for me. Xenoblade is my absolute favourite game series of all time, and I have absolute faith in Monolith Soft. After watching the announcement trailer, I’ve pretty much avoided everything else.
God I haven’t been this hyped in a long long time
@FishyS Combat isn't that big of a deal. Standard attacks are auto. It more or less finding the best chain attacks and even that is usually simple
Removed - unconstructive
@Mattock1987 Low quality bait
@CorePrideX an opinion you don’t agree with must be bait. Of course.
Calling Xenoblade an generic RPG clearly says you never really played the games. Because even if you don't like it, you can't deny its has a lot of work and passion in it. Something Square lost a long time ago when they became Square Enix
I guess I have to get this game after all. Just gotta turn the possible baby modes off right from the start and then just pretend they don't exist.
@Mattock1987 Tell me you have never played XC without saying that you have never played XC:
@FishyS never played a Xenoblade game before then.
With a just a few weeks to go before launch, where's the UK collector's edition pre-order?
This is the kind of game that I don't need to watch a trailer, I'm buying it day one.
Every Xenoblade system gets more and more complex. I think that whats drives the series to be a broad-open to everyone series is the complexity of these systems. Simpler would be better.
I'll be day 1 of course, as I love the series, but even a fan like me have always a hard time to understand all the mechanics and so!
@tanasten Weird because the mechanics are always well explained. I can say that the combat of Xenoblade 2 takes maybe a bit longer to get used to, but I never saw it has complex or hard.
The one that was more complex was X. X2 it's simpler and I think the Torna Golden Country did a cool job getting the system into a funnier and simpler version.
But when I play with my friends no one understands anything. Thus no sale at all.
I keep hearing people that say they play the game in Japanese, but how do you get the story if you do that?
I love these games. I really hope I can find the time to play this one.
XC1 is my all time favorite game
Breath of the Wild is my #2
XCX is my #3
Guess I really like the Monolith Soft style
I don't like their business plan behind screwing fans out of the Collectors Edition. Their website is one of the worst in memory. Think I'm going to pass.
@MedusaMadman77 I get what you mean, but are you really gonna pass the game just because you couldn't get the CE? In Europe it still needs to go live, but if I miss out on it I just by the physical version.
@Mattock1987 There are a lot of criticisms you may have about the Xenoblade games, because just like any other game they aren't perfect, but calling them generic is downright silly.
They're probably the most unique JRPGs with the most bizarre premises I've ever played.
@leo13
I think by “playing in Japanese,” people mean selecting Jpn dialogue and turning on English subtitles. A very welcome feature, if you ask me!
I always default to Jpn dialogue in Jpn games, but make an exception for Xenoblade games sometimes so I don’t miss out on the sophisticated British voice acting.
Cheerio! 🧐
@Teksetter sophisticated? Hearing regional British accents is a treat for sure, but only someone not from the UK would describe them as sophisticated 😂
I suppose Melia was fairly well spoken, and Mórag's Scottish lilt is pretty classy... but Rex, Nia, and most of the other British accents are decidedly average!
I'm trying to steer clear of spoilers as much as possible but this media onslaught is making it very difficult! Here's hoping it works and XC3 is a huge success, the series is far too niche for how excellent the games are.
@Otoemetry
Heehee yes, I knew I should have mentioned I’m a yank and nearly any British accent sounds positively cultured compared to the southie Boston and “Roh-Dilun” accents I hear day to day, and most of the American English dubs in games. 😉
I’m joking around a bit, of course. But honestly, we Americans are so saturated with domestic media that voice-acting from the UK really does sound exotic and edgy. That’s why I’ll actually switch from Japanese to the English dub occasionally with Xeno games I’ve sampled (all but XC2).
Or… maybe it’s just personal preference and little kid me imprinted on Sarah Jane and The Doctor more than I realized! 😅
@leo13 yes without XCX there would be no Breath it the wild.
@Teksetter oh the voice acting in XC2 isn't as bad as people make out, all of the main cast do stellar jobs in my opinion and I think the only reason people don't like Rex is because he's not Shulk 😜
Rex's VA takes a little while to find his feet in the role, I'll admit. But I don't get don't the hate for him, if it's the writing well that's hardly the fault of the VA. I think folk just don't know how to appreciate a mildly Northern English accent haha
There's a couple of blades where the side quest cutscenes are definitely shaky, in fact there is one blade who ought to have been cut from the game entirely. Dahlia I think her name is. She was a mistake all round.
Hoping this looks better in handheld than Xenoblade Chronicles 2 did
I stopped watching any promo after the Xenoblade Direct. Don't need anything else on the game; it's a given that I'm gonna buy it
This game is begging for a more powerful Switch. Looks great despite the low resolution though.
Combat looks way better than the first. Mostly why I quit that game pretty early on, hated the boring grinding and lackluster battle system.
@SteamEngenius Did you really play it? Xenoblade 1 is made so you don't have to grind at all.
