Breath of the Wild's engine re-used & focus on exploration enhanced but with more traditional dungeons, the divine beasts were ok but the game left me longing for the temples of old with a non-linear twist to those dungeons.
Knowing how I personally reacted and practically squealed when the number 4 appeared mixed with that all-to-familiar Prime 1 theme. Its a joy to see other fans reacting in the same way, Metroid Prime 4 is going to be something special.
Words cannot describe how much I cannot wait to play this game. ^_^
Who else is going to replay the trilogy now? Current plan is to play Prime 1 in the fall, 2 sometime in the first two months of '18, and the third prior to the release of Prime 4. Of course I am assuming it will make a 2018 release, gosh I hope so~
@BinaryFragger i'm more disappointed in sun and moon getting whats essentially remasters for the same platform (the entire 3DS family, rather than a switch remaster) at what will likely be full retail price within one year of the games original release.
Honestly it was kind of ignorant to think that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would not sell. There were only 8 million people who got the game on the Wii U which might sound like a lot of players and it is but there were a lot of people who acknowledged that it was a good game but they did not want to pick up a Wii U. As such it is those people, the majority that did not buy a Wii u and stuck with their 3DS's, PCs, or alternative consoles that are going to drive sales of MK8D on top of the double dippers like myself. I'm glad they ported this game, it was addictive on Wii u and its so much more addictive now on Switch with the improvements Nintendo added.
Switch version here. I'm about to face Ganon after messing around for nearly 100 hours, 65 shrines, master sword early, and hylian shield early. With that said the worst area so far with frame rate has been the Lost Woods, even in portable mode there are drops there. Outside of that area though the game has been amazing.
Its hard to believe that in six days we will finally get our hands on this game! Regardless if we play this on Switch or Wii U (Switch for me) I have a feeling we are all in for a treat~
I'm not going to lie about how I feel here. I feel that since the Switch is suppose to be our 2-in-1 Nintendo platform that a 3DS successor would be a tad redundant now that we can take our games on the go and play them at home. I would rather see them advance development on the Switch with handheld developers and console developers on that one platform, and then worry about succeeding the Switch after a few years.
My Switch day one plans include: Black and grey switch console pro controller Breath of the Wild and anything good announced in Feb during a guaranteed Nintendo Direct prior to March. Watch it happen on March 1st or 2nd
Was all digital on Wii U, thanks to game cards and questionable choice to (for now) exclude external HDD support, I'm reverting back to physical media with Switch.
@chardir That info came from a WSJ tweet, the same guy said we wouldn't hear anything about the Switch for awhile and we got a preview reveal yesterday, so I don't trust him fully.
I hope that I am not in class/away from my amazon page once pre-orders go up after the Switch Direct, switch direct, direct switch showing in the future because I am gonna buy a console day-one for the first time in my life.
This doesn't reinforce Eurogamer's rumors Nintendolife. The likelyhood of tegra x1 or x2 being used for the NX is highly unlikely, meanwhile the likelyhood of there being a 2 unit platform, one ARM handheld, and a AMD x86 console is far more likely. September can't come soon enough so we can stop reinforcing base-less rumors.
I like the overall look of the game, but after seeing the stickers I'm going to hold my breath on it as I did not enjoy Sticker Star at all. However, if they balance what we wanted from TTYD and what new fans that liked SS want to keep, then maybe it will be good.
@zool I guess I'll be in the minority, played the Wii version at launch, the Gamecube version a few years later and next month I'll happily enjoy this remaster.
@JaxonH "Me too. Gosh dang I've purchased like 15 remasters on PS4, at least 6 on 3DS, and, well, just Windwaker on Wii U, but that's a lot of remasters for a generation just getting started. And many more preordered. I can't help it- if it's A) a game I haven't played yet or B) a game I love... I'm all in."
Same~ I've gotten alot of remasters of old games I loved when I was growing up (not just from this generation), though its rare that I get a remaster to a game I never played.
People complaining about the price when they are the same people who bought the last 3 remasters before it. Going to get this myself seeing as its what I wanted in a HD remaster of Twilight Princess, a nice clean version of the game with button controls, gameplay tweeks where they are needed and enhanced texture work. Four excellent remasters that stand up next to their original versions now I just want Zelda U. Yes I am part of the remaster problem, sue me. shrugs
How do me make more bang for our buck from our fans, lets lock one dungeon that would normally be priced between $4.99 and $6.99 as DLC to the disc and only make it accessible to fans via a $13 to $15 Amiibo figure. Wooooooooooo this sounds like a fantastic idea, so we shouldn't complain am I right?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ahSCKmJAQY
@Dark-Link73 Uhhh you do realize that WWHD is just an upscaled/uncompressed conversion of the old game with added lighting and shading correct.... TPHD is the same thing minus WWHD's lighting and shading effects.
Well this satisfies my ocd of not having Galaxy 1 next to Galaxy 2 on the main menu. I like having games digitally so I'm not bothered by Galaxy being offered digitally. What does bother me is the fact that NOA is so darn slow with VC releases. Super Mario Galaxy should have been offered back in May alongside its japanese eshop release, and Xenoblade Chronicles should have been available on the eshop by now. Instead what NOA does is give us games without considering the feedback from fans. Take for example what Microsoft has done with emulated 360 compatability via Xbox One, they opened up a voting system where fans are requesting the games they wanted and as a Xbone owner I can expect hundreds of 360 games by the time 2016 is out and a good number of them will be titles I personally voted for. With Nintendo I'm left wondering if we will get
Mother 3 Xenoblade Chronicles the essential Wii titles on eshop Metroid Zero Mission Mario RPG alongside a host of other games we have been wanting since the days of the Wii.
All of this begs to question how Nintendo will do things with the NX regarding region lock vs region free and if NOA continues to ignore fan requests then I am considering importing the NX from NOE and dealing with the price conversions if it means getting the selection of games NOA fails to deliver on.
This week NOA should have offered Mario RPG, and 64 DS just like Europe, and yes I know NOE didn't offer Galaxy as a download this week so both can be at fault its just ridiculous since once a game hits NOE its pretty much localized to the point of hitting NOA's servers and NOA is like lol sorry for the rant I hope everyone on NL has a happy holiday!
@JRPGHurtsWallet Power doesn't matter? In todays market? sure let tell Nintendo that and let them release a 3rd console ina row thats just as if not barely as powerful as the generation before and see what happends.
I hope the NX is a unified platform thats in line with the times and is actually modern.
If there were to be a update to the games UI I would like to have access to the map via the main menu, had to look up a few maps to see where exactly some paths where before I got my flight module XD
wonder if it will release in 2016 for NA and Europe, but like Earthbound (Mother 2) a simple outcry on miiverse might make it happen. posted on the Mother 3 jap community just now actually
If one thing has been surprisingly slower than the Wii U's virtual console, it has been the eshop re-releases of Wii titles.
Xenoblade Chronicles is one game I desperately want on the eshop because I will not buy a New 3DS for one game especially if its a de-master, or shelving out alot of money for a new copy of the old disc regardless if X has become my favorite Wii U title.
And a few other titles I haven't been able to get yet like The Last Story, Fire Emblem, and so on.
"We will continue to support the Wii U going into the lifecycle of the NX" I've heard that one before.
GameCube - Nintendo stoped supporting it right after the Wii released Wii - Support died in 2011 with the exception being Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, The Last Story and Ubisoft's just dance games and the skylander games. Wii U - Outside of SMTxFE and Zelda U what else is slated for summer 2016 and beyond, I want proof not words, words that were echoed in past generations and weren't directly validated.

As long as we either

I'm ok with it.
