I never finished KI:U, great game, but it was literally too painful for a decent amount of play time for me.
But Kid Icarus: Uprising, Ever Oasis and Metroid: Samus Returns are my top 3 3DS games that need a Switch remaster.
That “already completed” Tank Troopers remaster, with added online multiplayer, would have been good too.
TotK is the obvious Switch GotY and a main contender for the GotY, alongside Hogwarts Legacy, FFXVI, Resident Evil 4 remake, possibly Spider-Man 2 and Starfield. Mario Wonder could be a surprise big hitter too.
I’d like to see TotK win overall, but Hogwarts Legacy would be my second pick, if only for spiteful reasons.
Coming off the Wii U it’s understandable, but simply watching the consoles sales numbers and the rate those sales were increasing, should have have been obvious enough to anyone, that even some support would have been good, or at the very least testing the waters with a title.
A more logical decision would have been “If the console hits XX million sales, we’ll support it.” But again that would be logical.
@ZeldaFan83 Well they said they weren’t going to release any new hardware this year, they never said they weren’t going to talk about new hardware this year.
This case has been a riot, the FTC have shown they have a very poor case and have a poor understanding about the gaming industry, even their ones supposedly in support of the deal falling through aren’t on their side and it’s shown that Sony aren’t these great “for the players” company like they themselves and others make them out to be (no AAA company is really).
Phil admitted to Xbox “losing the console war” and “being in 3rd place”. The FTC and to a lesser extent Sony, are simply trying to make Nintendo a non-factor in this case.
With Nintendo out of the way it makes for a stronger argument of the Activision buyout as anti-competitive deal, being a Xbox v PS situation.
But ol’Jimmy boy has already gone on the record that he doesn’t believe that exclusivity isn’t anti-competitive, as that would be be hypocritical of Sony to say in the first place and that Sony aren’t actually worried that they won’t get future versions of CoD.
The only “threat” of the buyout that Sony have said, is that Activision would no longer receive early dev-kits for future consoles, which is understandable. Just means no launch day CoD on PS6.
Whether or not there is truth to Jim’s words and whether you play the games or not, the deal definitely benefits Nintendo’s and gamers alike and it really has nothing to do with Sony and nor should it.
It really looks like this case will end in Microsoft’s favour.
And despite originally revealing FFXVI with a mention of a PC version and every other mention/leak of a PC version, the lairs at Square Enix who claimed there was no PC version coming, announce a PC version “in the works” on the game’s launch day.
What is surprising with the UK sales of FFXVI, is the 75% drop in physical sales, when compared to FFXV.
The FTC don’t even know what they’re talking about. Repeatedly asking Phil the same pointless question (will you swear an oath that CoD will still be on PlayStation?) to the point even the judge got fed up with them.
Day 2 went completely in Microsoft’s favour.
There were a few FPS that utilised the Wii controller well, namely the Metroid Prime and The Conduit games, CoD wasn’t bad either. But I feel Pikmin used it the best, so much better than a traditional controller.
This is good, I’d love to see Quake 3 Arena and 4 on Switch.
It’s a shame Quake Champions never made a huge impact. They need to drop the “hero shooter” genre and get back that fast pace arena shooter Q3A was known for.
That said, Sorlag is the best.
All I can say about Sonic Superstars is they’d better release it away from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, else they’ll suffer. Release Sonic like a month or so apart from Mario.
This is good, but I’m still hoping for Golden Sun remakes. Remakes that go all out and make Golden Sun look like Xenoblade or Dragon Quest 11, and not just a graphics update.
The animation will be uniquely Illumination, everything else depends on the writer/s and director/s.
I’d also expect Nintendo to be heavily involved and make sure things don’t stray from what makes Zelda “Zelda”, i.e. they don’t let Illumination turn it into a complete comedy and make sure the story is more action/adventure based.
Why Atlus can’t just be up front about whether or not their games are coming to certain platforms is beyond me.
I mean, everything except a solid confirmation from Atlus, points to P3R coming to the Switch. But then it was also thought that Soul Hackers 2 was coming to the Switch at some point too.
They can’t be done with Starfield soon enough. I’d rather see them to be wholly and solely focused on TES VI development already.
Till then I’ll just keep playing Skyrim, but luckily the fan remakes of Morrowind (Skywind) and Oblivion (Skyblivion) are coming along nicely and should be released in the next couple of years.
Argonians & Orcs ftw!
Also, I wouldn’t say no to more updates like the Anniversary update, like an update that adds more lore friendly armour for Argonians, Khajiit and Wood Elves would be nice, or at the very least, an update with the mod that allows Argonian horns and Khajiit ears to stick through headgear.
What a stupid talking point. What is there to lose sleep over exactly? Most games that “take inspiration” from Nintendo games are usually forgotten within a couple of months.
I can’t see this game lasting very long at all.
@SwitchForce
Most people don’t, so they’ve come up with the pathetically weak argument “game is old, it belongs to everyone for free now,” and that hides behind the “game preservation” excuse. As if Nintendo have lost their games.
From what I’ve read, it’s a legal issue. As it is a mod and not official content.
Something to do with crediting/owing the original creator for their mod, that Aspyr would have been selling.
So you guys gonna mention the part where Valve initiated the removal of the Dolphin emulator?
Also Nintendo providing a statement to Kotaku? Get real. You do know Nintendo blacklisted them, right? To the point where Kotaku kicked up a stink, to the point of an implied death threat, because Nintendo wouldn’t give them an advanced review copy of TotK.
I very much want the collection to come to the Switch. With Twin Snakes included would be even better. And seeing as this is vol 1, we might finally see MGS4 make its way off the PS3.
If they believe the “Nintendo brand” has fallen flat since 2018, then they’ve inadvertently insulted themselves, because the “Nintendo brand” has been blitzing the “Sony brand” since the Switch came out. And now Nintendo is blitzing Sony in the movie space too.
Remasters and sequels that show improvements and address flaws in the the original/predecessor, as stated in this list.
Yet are all ranked lower than the original/predecessor…
All this sparks with me is the fact that GameFreak is completely okay with co-developing a game with another developer, and this one is completely 3rd party to boot!
So why haven’t they gotten together with a developer like Monolith Soft or Bandai Namco to make a good mainline Pokémon game yet? I mean I know why (low effort, high rewards), but still, why?
No sympathy for those who play and/or promote “emulated” current gen games and get busted. Especially games that haven’t even been released yet. They deserve everything they got/had coming to them.
Plus hearing Kotaku’s reaction to being blacklisted by Nintendo and not receiving an early copy of TotK was hilarious, bunch of scumbags there.
I’d rather Link’s Adventure be remade by either WayForward or INTI CREATES. WayForward would also be my pick for remaking the Wario Land games. And I hope Greezo is remaking Oracle of Seasons/Ages, with an Ever Oasis port.
So they’ve potentially lost approximately $108mil US from this incident.
Would have taken the movie to 6th highest grossing animated film (according to wiki).
So it ain’t no small loss.
If they mean a 1:1 PS5/XBSX port, with no optimisation, they are correct. But that is such a weak argument, that only an illogical moron would use, especially when a smart phone version and last-gen versions also exists. Meaning a version could be made specifically for the Switch.
Switch Pro controller is definitely the best, one way they could improve them is analog triggers. I’d put the Joy-Cons above N64 and the Wii U pro controller and game pad above the Joy-Cons. The GameCube controller is only good for certain games, I wouldn’t use them for most modern games.

Re: UK Charts: For Goodness Sake, Zelda: TOTK Is Number One Again
And there you go, should have been a multi-platform release from the start. Maybe SE will learn something.
Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?

Re: Japanese Charts: Final Fantasy XVI Dethrones Zelda: TOTK After Six Weeks On Top
Quite a low start for a mainline FF game, for Japan and worldwide. Guest that’s what happens when you make it an exclusive.
Re: Random: Mortal Kombat Co-Creator Knows Who He'd Add To Smash Bros., If Nintendo Was To Ask
Scorpion is a must, but if there was a second character, I’d want Jade or Sheeva (but not the ugly MK11 version).

This sounds more like withdrawal syndrome.

Such a shame, I mean it’s decent, but this game could have been so much better, but thanks to EA’s meddling, they ending up ruining it.

Re: Star Wars: KOTOR II 'Sith Lords' DLC Cancelled For Nintendo Switch

Have you paid attention to Aspyr and their publisher? Clearly, they’ve been incredibly incompetent at their work lately.
Or do you honestly think this is a hardware issue, for a 2004 game?

@anoyonmus not if it’s MK11 Sheeva it isn’t.

Hopefully Sheeva is there and they fix her design. Her design sucked in MK11, namely her face.
But just seeing Kano and Jade would be cool.
