@WhiteUmbrella i haven't seen confirmation on if nintnedo online is required to BUY Alarmo or USE Alarmo. Seems like you don't need an account to buy it at the Nintendo store so...maybe the only requirement is to have Nintendo Online to buy Alarmo on the internet but not to use Alarmo?

Nintendo will launch a game music streaming service for switch. you will need to be in the room with the switch powered on and also have your smartphone hardwired to the switch USB port via a proprietary cable. audio will play from your smart device via an app, but not the Nintendo apps that already exists. Bluetooth transmission to headphones or speakers from the smart device will be disabled, however. Also please note the audio will stop playing if the screen of either device is turned off. The service will require an upgrade to the Nintendo online service from the current highest tier. At launch 10 first party Gameboy titles will have a presence on the service, but please understand further titles and possible consoles will be added at a later date.
