Got it pre-downloaded and sitting stoked for release date. I played this to death on the GC, can't wait to get my skills back to reputable levels again. Probably my favorite game of all time.
@NEStalgia I live in Tokyo, but I travel very often inside of the country. Everyone is carrying small powerbanks, you see them constanly on transportation because there is no jack nearby under most circumstances.
@sword_9mm What worries me is Nintendo can just decide to brick units that don't use equipment they want it to use through software updates, and they straight up did it with the 5.0 push and the sudden flood of bricked systems from unofficial docks. What's to say they won't pull the same thing with 3rd party chargers or power banks?
Basically, when it boils down to it, this announced swiitch should come with a charger, especially for the price.
@NEStalgia I hope you are right about 3rd party charging solutions being OK, there was so much misinformation about it a while back I just stopped using my Anker power bank out of fear it'd kill my Swiitch post the 5.0 update. Looks like the smoke has cleared a bit on the panic, I'll prob give it a go again.
Btw, Japan isn't covered in USB charging points everywhere, lol. I've lived there for nearly 8 years, while you do see USB charging points in coffee shops and sometimes at McDonalds/etc, you do not see them on trains basically ever and they are on long distance buses, but maybe like 20% of the time. Local buses never have them.
@sword_9mm @electrolite77 Be careful what you plug into your Swiitch, you are playing Russian roulette with it because Nintendo didn't follow USB spec properly. And no, Anker and Apple aren't "cheap Chinese crap" but can cause bricking.
@bagajr O guess the theory is you already have one Swiitch so you use that dock. If you want to charge both of your Swiitches at the same time you buy a $25 charger from Nintendo or risk using a third party power device that Nintendo's lack of following the USB-C spec properly may brick your Swiitch.
I like the idea, but the price isn't right, especially without a charger. Selling a device you can't power without a super highly price inflated accessory is borderline insulting. Especially when despite the device having a "standard" USB-C port (that does not meet the spec properly) they are being bricked by otherwise safe charging methods. Dirty tricks from a company I otherwise love.
@JoeDiddley The game is just over 20 minutes long. The difficulty is the point of the game (and genre), learning the game, finding the best routes, finding the "Zen" that is required to complete it. Playing it over and over is the purpose of the experience. If you give it a go, try to keep this in mind, you can learn to love it.
Years ago on the GC a friend of mine and I spent weeks playing this over and over until we were able to complete it in one credit in co-op mode together, the game is an absolute work of art. The music, the presentation, the gameplay, the simplicity, the complexity, it's a perfect experience. Probably by favorite game ever made and I'm very much looking forward to getting into it again soon.
@SmaggTheSmug Haha, sorry, didn't realize English wasn't your first language. "Record player" is probably the most common word, a gramophone makes me think of one of those devices from the early 1900's with the giant horn shaped speaker coming out of the top.
I never jumped into it, but it very much intrigues me. I'd like to see it at like a $20 price point, hopefully not $50. At this point that would be my only barrier to picking it up.
Spectacular game. My only slight gripe is the vibration in the joycons needs to be toned back a bit, it's seemingly set to high and is a bit of a distraction rather than nice addition. Being able to adjust the intensity or simply turn it off in game (rather than in system settings) would be a welcome update.

Re: Nintendo Bans Online Services For Prominent Hacker's Switch Console
I think it's fair game for them to ban a hacked unit, but to ban an unhacked unit might be a bit overstepping.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Details Of Nintendo Switch Online
Are the games announced permanently available or will they be rotated out with other titles?
Also, do we have a reasonable voice chat system yet, or is it still that silly phone app and a mess of wires if you want to hear game audio as well?

@SmaggTheSmug If your younger brother is using a "gramophone" I can't begin to imagine how old you are.
I want to play Floor Kids, but I'm hoping for a sale at some point. Or a demo to sell me on it.
