The one glimmer of hope from this is they could push for an MP Trilogy HD Switch version to be released in the next year or 2 to hold fans over and prep those who have never played the series. I'm not talkin a full fledged HD remake, just an up-res version, audio, gyro controls, etc for porting. Hell, I'll even take the Wii trilogy version being ported just to replay these games.
@The_ghostmen I'm the opposite. I'd rather rebuy a game I know is great that I'll play again and again. So sick of buying a new game released with bugs, weekly patches, day 1 paid DLC, as well as in most cases, be a boring 'by the numbers' game that i either have to force myself to play through or stop playing after a few hours.
It'd make sense for Capcom to put the Revelations games on sale during this announcement, and the fact it's Halloween. Think I've only seen sales on these once in NA, and several times in EU.
They LEARNED their mistakes on WiiU with the VC by having us create "new" My Ninitendo Accounts to have our purchases tied to accounts, instead of consoles, so we wouldn't have to repay for them on the next system. Next system is here, and now we have to RENT the games most of us already own on our VC My Nintendo account.
This is what bothers me most. Yes, the games are there, but I'm less incline to play them when I don't own them. Just like Netflix, I have so many options I don't end up watching many of them because they're "just" there. But, if I purchase a Bluray or TV season on DVD/Bluray I'm going to watch them almost instantly.
I havent even touched any of the "Rental" games available because I'm just not as motivated to play them when I don't own them, and my progress can vanish without notice when they're cycled out. This is just another strategy from Nintendo to make us REPAY for the same games again when they "supposedly" fixed this issue with the MY Nintendo Accounts!!!!!
@aaronsullivan it's total 'eShop' sales for September 2018 ... not lifetime sales from March 2017 to September 2018. Plus, almost all 1st party games are physical, where most sales come from.
@Kochambra I get all that, I'm not paying double the price for DLC I'll probably never play. So, by not releasing the DLC for WiiU owners, its fine to charge $30 for the whole package again!?!? I used to speedrun this on WiiU, but the load times added minutes to the overall run compared to other versions. Again, I will wait for the inevitable sale a month or 2 after release.
Loved this game on WiiU, but as others have said, the double hike in price just tore away all my excitement when seeing this article popup. Will wait for the inevitable 50% off sale.
@JaxonH OK. Thanx for the clarification. As someone who has never used a cloud backup save for a gaming system, I'm in the dark. And this article is all I could go by on how Nintendo's cloud backup save would work.
@DannyBoi Exactly! The idea presented here isn't what I originally thought how a cloud save system would work. Like, if I wanted to manually upload a save , because I wanted to replay a boss fight or part of a game that would normally be overwritten by my next save in the game ; then I could just upload that and always redownload it when I wanted to. This auto-save thing sounds like more of a problem if it auto saves at the wrong time and you have no control over it.
Never had a SegaCD and I always wanted to play the game due to the controversy it sparked back in the day. I'm one of those that was excited to see this getting added to Switch. Didn't live up to the violence congress and others portrayed it as. But, I have to admit, the cheesy-ness of it makes it great! I've probably put almost 30 hours into it over the weekend, trying to unlock all the video galleries and getting 100%.
Those complaining about the score with their argument only being "the game is awful, worst game ever made" ... really need to stop taking angry video game nerd and other youtube reviewers words as final and absolute to everything. The game really does have charm and the work put into this 25th anniversary well makes up for the asking price.
And, again, those that are clueless about the game, saying Switch has glitches and resolution problems ... the original video files for the game were lost. There's a documentary explaining this, if you had actually played it
Didn't a yearly Prime subscription go up $20 like a few years ago? They're canceling Twitch ad-free viewing and the videogame pre-order discount. Never watch PrimeTV service, so guess this is $100 i'll be saving yearly
@GameOtaku and that's what's really pissing me off with what Nintendo is doing. They claimed the new account system, started on WiiU, was so our purchases would be linked to an account and would be transferable all next gen consoles after WiiU. That was there way of justifying a mandatory re-purchase of VC titles we already bought on Wii previous gen .... but here we are now, and they're saying there won't be a VC. So, instead we have to pay, yet again ... for rental privileges?!?!??!
Was one of those hoping for a MP Trilogy HD reveal to keep us busy til more info on MP4 was revealed.
MP4 with nothing new to share this E3 is fine ... I mean, we've had 3 years in a row E3 showings for death stranding and still have no idea what 'type' of game it is.
WayForward did a solid gesture to all kickstarter backers by giving every backer a free steam copy of Ultimate Edition.
@Racthet916 Yes, all the game modes listed are available for the original game as DLC. Risky Mode was even on sale a couple months back. So if you're patient enough, the DLC modes might go on sale sometime, again, in the future.
Hell to the YEAH! And at a 30% off introductory sale at $6.99; was gladly expecting to pay $10-$15, but $7 is a steal. Loved The Fall on WiiU! Unfortunately the The Fall 2 just didn't quiet grip me like the original, so looking forward to replaying the original on Switch.
The Fall on WiiU was probably the most surprising game for me that I just bought randomly during a sale. The story as it unfolded was amazingly told. Looking forward to this. I'm also hoping the original gets a switch release to have them both on the system.
The only reason I'd be interested in this would be if they found a way for docked primary switch players to be able to use an external HDD for storage.
@Galenmereth Glad I'm not the only one with issues on the camera. I posted this in the Forum section, here, after downloading my backer copy.
Got mine yesterday as well and played for a little bit. My biggest complaint so far is the camera. When trying to set it up manually for some platforming segments it feels delayed and then stutters a bit. It doesn't move smoothly and where you want it; like it moves 8 fps or something and you have to wait til it stutters, at least close to, where you want it. Then when you start moving your character it stutters to a weird angle messing up what you set up half the time.
@WhiteTrashGuy Bayo 1 was 17.6 , and Bayo 2 was 14.6 from WiiU. Not sure if that remains for switch versions ... considering they can remove things like "off tv play, touch screen controls, and whatever crazy coding had to be done to get these games on WiiU". Not sure how that works for game coding and file sizes if any lol
Considering both games combined comes in at slightly over 32GB it makes sense the first game would be download only (which apparently is 1-2GB larger than Bayo2). Although they could have used a 32GB card and just required us to download the remaining 2 or so GB's from Bayo 1 on sd card.
These games were amazing on WiiU and I'm definitely tripple dipping as well.
Ok, cool. Least I'm relieved to know my 'early bird' backing for $24 USD actually will be cheaper than retail non backer pricing. As for a digital only release at $40, that's a tough sell considering the bad feedback from the initial release.
"there’s single-Joy-Con support ... the ability to play on-the-go" ... these are not developed optimizations for switch owners, these are basic functions that should be expected.
Anyways, I was a day 1 backer of this project. So now it's time to see how much 'more' I paid for the game as a backer ($24 USD), as opposed to the general consumer buying the game at launch. Of the 5 games I've backed, Shantae was the only one, so far, I actually got the game for cheaper than retail launch price.
would prefer the RE0 and RE1 HD collection, as well as the code veronica HD port. but this is the company that couldn't bother putting the megaman or disney afternoon 8-bit collections on the switch. not expecting a great deal from capcom.
@MoonKnight7 just posting to confirm I got the same response on Prime chat support. The lady offered to put my order on priority and it "could" possibly arrive Monday??? Never had an issue with a pre-ordered game, like this, before. Sometimes 1 day late cause of postal issues. but DOOM is not shipping out from Amazon until Friday. I bit the bullet and canceled my pre-order, I'll spend the extra $13 I woulda saved so I can play it tomorrow and this weekend before Skyrim next weekend.
This pretty much blows. I assumed the extra $10 more than other versions ( which are the remastered versions, not X360 port ) was because of the bigger game cart being used. Dam shame, too, I was looking forward to this.
The extra download space required doesn't bother me ..., its the extra $10 tacked on that STILL requires 50% of the game to be downloaded. This is unacceptable.
@rharalson yeah, when the game first popped up I was excited by the old school survival horror mechanics and graphics. I still play PS1 RE's, Fear Effects, Silent Hill, etc. The thing that turned me away the most was the 30 minute time limit per play. I EXPLORE like crazy in survival horror games so this made it seem as though it wouldn't be my kinda game. But with the sale and your recommendation I'm looking forward to checking it out.
30 seconds is perfectly fine. It's more of a highlight recording for something that happens on the fly. If you wanted to record entire playthroughs, get an Elgato HD Capture device.
Might get Vaccine with the $3 off sale. Would get Syberia if it was around the $20 mark. A 15 year old port for $30 is just ridiculous .. especially when you can get Syberia 1 & 2 bundled for $15 on Steam.
The problem is going to get worse with this "game-save files ONLY store on the internal memory" bullcrap. I have no issue with buying microSD cards for games, but the game file saves is whats going to become the unfixable issue in the future unless cloud or SDcard saves are allowed.
The Fall on WiiU captivated me from start to finish. Have been eagerly waiting more news on the sequel, and glad it's not skipping the Switch. Would even double dip the original if a port was in the works.

This seems pointless until they actually have bundle deals. I don't even buy off the actual eShop, too slow to find anything. I keep this link bookmarked so I can see everything on sale, much quicker, and just buy from there since my account is linked.
