@WiiUExposed Peach is different, in that Links projectiles are consistent ... Peach can pull random items that are normally available for others when items are turned on, she does even with items turned off. These bans probably don't happen until a beam sword, bomb, or mr saturn is pulled out and used.
For some reason, I see the "Tap Here To Purchase" button on everything except the Zelda OoA and Zelda OoS games. Those are the 2 games I want, yet it won't let me purchase them, my eShop account is maxed out so not a money issue, and I see the options for other, more expensive games
@AVahne HomeBew has been our only salvation to play FF games on the Wii, in the States. If Nintendo doesn't want my money, then I don't have any other choice. Though, I feel it may have a better chance because if they do localize it for Europe (english translation), they can just localize it for the eShop in the States (no need to make discs, cases, etc if that was "really" the excuse back then.
@Peach64 Have you ever played a Fatal Frame game? When I first saw the GamePad's functionality revealed for the system, I immediately thought of Fatal Frame. I must have made at least 10 posts on this site since the WiiU's release talking about how the GaemPad was made for Fatal Frame.
Have Bayonetta 1 available after the Direct ends. So those that never played the original have a chance before the new game releases. Then whatever the price is ($10-$20) have that amount discounted off the price Bayo2, for those who bought Bayo1, when it releases.
Very smart move to give Disney Infinity away to try and gain more attention for their new game and toy lineup. They know they have more competition coming their way and I respect their attempt to try and convince more try and, eventually, buy their products.
@Hy8ogen My God, YES! Every time I goof on a confusing code input I get so scared into thinking my card is faulty or wasn't activated at the register. Would love to see something like this in the future for all regions.
I've pre-ordered games from Amazon before, and I am an Amazon Prime member ... but unfortunately, everytime my game pre-orders arrive 2-3 days after the release date (this isn't so much an issue but I have to have smash the day it comes out). So, yes MAB, I'm going D4L for this title, and I'll buy the adapter controller combo separately.
The problem is the VIDEO ADS on this site, over to the right. Here I am watching this video, then blaring in the background is flashback videos of justin timberlake and watch mojo ads, toothpaste challenge swap, and junk ... then my browser freezes. This is getting old nintendo life
I've never liked DW games. They're repetitive hack n slash games, in my opinion, when I played them. But throw in Zelda atmosphere and references, and you got me intrigued. Still I know it would get repetitive after so long so don't plan on purchasing it ... but then I hear a rumor about the possibility of a co-op online mode that I can play with friends ( while chatting on skype cause WiiU mic sux ). Ok, I'm sold, this could be a fun game to kill some time with friends while randomly hack n slashing through zelda lore. Take that away and you take away my interest in the game.
That's my honest opinion, and I'm sure many others feel the same way. It's not that people demand online play in every game, but some of us can ONLY play co-op games through online modes. And, for a game I'm interested in from the very beginning, this wouldn't bother me, at all. Unfortunately, for me to warrant purchasing THIS game, the online co-op mode was a necessity. I'll wait for further details on this to be revealed but that's the gist of it.
@JaxonH ditto on this! I played the demo and hated the game based on it. Then took a chance with the capcom sale and i have clocked in almost 800 hours since february this year, into the game. Best purchase on WiiU by far!
As far as MH4U goes, Im not gonna be thrilled with the transition to 3DS, from WiiU, but getting it anyways because I know I'll easily sink in another several hundred hours into it. Just hoping a WiiU version does come later down the road and we can transfer save files again
@Lobster normally I sway away from making 'clickbait' posts as some do, but this time I agree 100%. It's not just the misleading title and subtext under the title ... but why oh why did they decide to use that picture for the article. Luckily I didn't get my hopes up and knew there was a catch, cause this is big news and wouldn't have just randomly shown up and been available without a notice beforehand. But yeah, NL, the way this article was labeled and dressed up is not what I normally expect from you guys.
The very first thing I had to do was turn the "dousing" system off in Skyward Sword. I don't mind an opening tutorial of some sorts ... but having it throughout the game is not what I want in Zelda games. You don't get that feeling of being wrapped up in the games world if you're being directed where to go the entire time. Plus I don't pay $50-60 for a game to play follow the leader.
This is great news for us exploration/adventure puzzle gamers.
The only 2 things left on my wishlist (least things that are possible) are folders, and they need to upgrade how many Friends we can have. 100 Friends is just too limited between MH3U, MK8, and Smash coming soon.
Hope the Smash Event is held at my local Bust Buy.
@faint "Heck I'm planing on importing a wii from the uk just so I can play the fatal frame remake that I held out years of hope for" .... an SD Card and a USB Flash Reader might be a cheaper way to get both Fatal Frame 4 and Fatal Frame 2 on your Wii Because of Nintendos region locking and not localizing the FF series in NA; I had to go the homebrew route and GLAD I did cause I would have missed out on 2 amazing FF games.
Why couldn't they have at least sent us a download code on our Wii, for us to download it on WiiU. I loved both LW games, but not really wanting to do ANOTHER system transfer.
@unrandomsam "Mario Kart Wii has outsold GTA V" ... As good of news as that may seem MK Wii was released 5 years before GTA5, and will most likely surpass it once GTA5 releases the 40 different versions it will come out with.
Obviously SMB3 just to complete the mario collection for Wiiu. I just read the interview for Flowerworks HD and whether its my type of game or not I'll check it out for that sale price and Im always down to support Nintendo fans turned developers.
We all know how this is going to go down for WiiU. It'll finally release winter 2014 / early 2015 for WiiU at full $60 retail price, no DLC available at all .... while all other consoles get WDs GOTY edition for $20 all DLC uncluded for free.
RE:CV-X My favorite game in the RE series (which USED to be my favorite game series and favorite genre). But then along came Re4 and the series took a downward spiral from horror to dudebro action that it will probably never get back from. Reason my Miiverse profile says "old school RE" as being one of my fave series. Revelations tried, I'll give it credit.
If it had been an exclusive for Wii it probably wouldn't have gotten as big as the series has. It probably would have been seen as a short lived fad (since everything Wii was viewed that way when something new came to the console) and never would have seen the success it has with being released on multiple platforms.
As a MetroidVania genre fan, this game was actually pretty good at what it tried to do. There are times when controls are unresponsive and the combat (with groups of thugs) is a little button mashy with not much thought put into it. Where the game does excel at is for exploration fans. There's many hidden areas in the game and collectibles to grab. The backtracking was done smoothly, I never felt cheated when most games to this to make the experience longer. Each time I was backtracking, with newer items, I always found several new areas I could finally get into.
The game is far from perfect, but 2D exploration fans should at least give it a shot. The combat is stale, but exploration is pretty well down, and thats the big key to MetroidVania games.
Article Title made me uber happy ... then the actual Article got my hopes up. this makes absolutely no sense to me lol. Why would I want to get a download code when it's just easier to click download on the game from the eShop .... and they never run out of stock lol.
I was so excited, hoping this would actually download the game for me once it was available ... which now we know isn't the case.
@Game-Over My main concern is the fact GameCube games were announced like 2 years ago before the system's release; and not a single word about them since. They announce GBA games just a few months ago and are already releasing them lol. Not complaining though, any games on WiiU, at this point, is a good thing; even if they are a little pricey.
@sinalefa Maybe I watched a completely different nintendo direct than everyone else. Because what I saw was a game where you haggle prices with a dog for baseball themed micro games. The haggling will lose its charm very quickly, and the micro games themselves don't look to have any lasting appeal. I could be wrong, and hope those looking forward to it are happy with the end result. But just from what interests me and my own personal tastes ... this game in no shape or form holds any appeal to me.
@ValiantPixel Same here. Even with Monster Hunter 3U, I use the Pro Controller, and just have the gamepad sitting next to me for the touchscreen selections. One of the best uses for all 3, to me, was Need4Speed, where I used Pro Controller for driving, and the Gamepad as rearview mirror/touchscreen dashboard options.
The GamePad, I do like it and wish it was utilized more, I just prefer that 60 hour battery and the feel of a normal controller with the with WiiU Pro Controller.
My funds is maxed out on eShop, and still have 3 $50 eshop cards that are just waiting to be put on my account I bought during their sale. I'll nab Clooudberry Kingdom at that price, and Rayman Legends as well.
I really wish since they combined eShop accounts between WiiU and 3DS they'd let you have a more max amount than $200.
And, lol, AC4 for over $40 digitally, when it's been $25 on amazon for the past several weeks.
@faint There's also Track & Field (the one that came with the nes running pad thingy), knowing nintendo they'll probably release it for the heck of it since it can be played with a regular controller. I seriously wouldn't put it pass them.
I'm with everyone else though, 3 VC games on 1 day is madness. Last time that happened for NoA was when Capcom released their games. Nintendo for some reason can't manage it with all their games they have waiting and it being their own hardware.
I wasted over 10 months not playing monster hunter 3U because the demo they had for it turned me, and many others away. When capcom had the recent sale i decided to get it for the heck of it. Since that sale, 6-8 weeks ago, I've clocked in over 300 hours into the game ( my fave WiiU game to date). Demos work, but they have to be done correctly. If monster hunter had done something different with the demo, like let you play all the LV1 village quests so you understand the game gradually, and the tutorial it provides on teaching you how to hunt and gather resources. Then when you get to the Urgent Quest and you get to the monster, it shows the video for that monster and the demo ends ... it would have had a much bigger impact and hooked players immediately wanting more.
Nintendo needs demos for all their 1st party games; it just shows how far behind in the times they are. They're so obsessed in putting so much effort into Wii Fit U and Wii Sports U they just don't get it that those gamers are long gone. Yes, they are fun games, but they are no longer system sellers like during the wii generation.
@Yorumi What makes it even more baffling is how fast Capcom got a lot of their AAA games out at one time for most series entries to the eShop ... Final Fight series, Street Fighter 2 series, Ghost n goblins games, and Megaman games out on the WiiU eShop at a very respectable and fast rate. Why can't Nintendo do this on their own system?
And for those who haven't notice, about the SMB3 issue, it's the ONLY VC eShop game that is listed on the VC eShop coming soon list, and has been there since November!!!
If it takes so long to get games from Wii Shop to WiiU eShop; why, oh god why, are they picking these games thinking that's what we're wanting. Bravo, NOA!
Probably get Pure Chess for WiiU just to have something to buy. Online matches concern me with this one; like how long a chess match can take and what if a losing player decides to exit the game when they know they're beat.
Being able to relabel your post as a spoiler after posting it is a nice update, i usually have to delete my post and repost it to avoid that wonderful miiverse admin message lol. Seeing games communities filter for games you've played is a nice addition as well.
@ikki5 I for one have used it MUCH less than normally. Once the influx of users came with the 3DS merge, it has felt different. So much pointless spam, and post that should get replies get lost in the abyss of spam.
@LordGeovanni I'm not talking about the outside plastic for the game cover box, I mean they pull out the paper insert from within that plastic sleeve, and put THEIR price tag over the barcode of the original and on the front as well; and slide it back in the plastic sleeve. Besides, I'd rather pay the extra $5 for a brand new copy, as I've already said.
In the rare moments I do buy used games, I only buy used games on eBay, so this doesn't affect me. It's cheaper on eBay, and plus they dont put annoying retail price stickers on the GAME LABEL INSERTS. These end up tearing the game insert labels when you try to peel them off, which is my biggest pet peeve for not buying used games from retail. Plus the retarded pricing of only $5 off for used games when compared to new, I'd rather just get the new copy for just $5 more, complete ripoff.
