Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Hollow Knight Or Silksong?

hcfwesker

The original Hollow Night, by far, due to its modded randomizer. Although, still waiting for the silk song randomizer and DLC to be released before I can judge between them both. One is completed one is not, so I feel it's too early for this poll

Re: Hamster's 'Console Archives' Starting Lineup Revealed, Includes More Than 10 Titles

I remember back on the Wii U and we got the new Nintendo network ID accounts and they said from now on our Virtual Console purchases would be tied to our account, and everyone was excited. Then the switch came out and our Virtual Console purchases are no longer a thing. Now we have a yearly subscription fee where we get to rent those games we purchased many many times.

Re: Nintendo Will "Carefully Consider" A Switch 2 Price Increase, Says Furukawa

@Jumwa tarrif Nightmare lol

Wouldn't they've already raised the price as they kept bringing up since launch. As others have said, it's memory shortage and supply and demand costs you learn about in 3rd grade. Get the orange man bad nonsense out your head for 3 seconds and think

Honestly, they need to remove the gimped chat system from the console. Who wants to see people's heads and screen during multi-player. Sure it miiiiiiiiight seem neat but the gimmick seems like it'd fade real quick. Most gamers that chat and play online have been using Discord.

@TerribleTerabytes normally in the desert you can goto the pause menu and press X and miles will give an idea. But if you just got viola you can now boost jump off a ramp, or whatever, out the beginning of the desert. I wanna say your next, hint, will be go to the volcano region?

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sales Have Got Off To A Slow Start

hcfwesker

@TerribleTerabytes "And there isn't a lot of indication as to how to progress, I wish there was a sort of hint system or objective tracker. The direction feels very unclear."

Are you sure you're playing Metroid Prime 4 because that's mostly what the game is your map will show your next objective and NPCs will tell you what you're supposed to do and you can check your objective in the menu or looking at the map in the menu. I can't speak for the person you replied to but that's the reason why most people aren't liking the game it's too much hand holding after every area you don't get a chance to like think for yourself without an NPC telling you hey you got a fire weapon go check out the Ice Mountain. Each separate location feels like a Zelda dungeon when they're supposed to actually be larger areas to explore with different pathways

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sales Have Got Off To A Slow Start

@somnambulance I don't know where you get the word agenda from. Nintendo hid the characters from the marketing until early players pointed it out. Metroid players want that sense of discovery and exploration. Yes to an extent Metroid games have a linear path to collect items but normally you have to hit a brick wall before you have to turn around , but Prime for has that linear set already with Miles telling you where to go next and some Pathways being blocked off . There's only a few moments where you feel like you did something on your own. Usually when you find something now miles has to pop in and tell you what to do with it before you even get a chance to think about it yourself. I've said it before and I'll say it again this was a Metroid game made for people who think Metroid is too hard and for gamers who are used to having a big fat yellow arrow pointing in a direction to their next goal. Yes the game looks great the game plays pretty great but you have to recognize the flaws.
Most people who were going to buy this game Saw the early flaws and waited for either YouTube videos or watch Twitch streamers make a mockery of miles and the other characters and the constant hand holding from area to area.
I still can't understand how they couldn't get a remaster of Prime 2 at least before Prime 4 came out it might have helped with the hype after so long of waiting. the final product is a bit disappointing to long time fans who have been waiting for so long.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For February & March 2026

@the_beaver because I can actually criticize when I see my favorite series become unrecognizable except for the brand name alone, RE is not for me?. What a stupid assumption. I enjoy the originals when it was zombies and bio weapons created by the virus along with a very intriguing story and rememberable characters. I'm just not into this new garbage where we got to have intelligent weapon throwing car driving zombies or whatever they become now along with vampires a family chasing you for whatever reason filled with made up monsters designs that actually belong in Silent Hill.

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Follow In PlayStation And Xbox's Footsteps This Year With "Global Price Hike"

hcfwesker

People are forgetting Nintendo price this console and let's call it what it is, basically a switch one pro console at $450. Mario Kart World at $80.
And everyone is still crying about tariffs even though this is going to be a world wide issue with AI bullcrap and shortages of RAM and Nintendo ego.
Everyone crying about orange man bad this dude stopped several Wars imagine prices if those kept going, but no one mentions that. But an already rip off price of a video game console goes up in price everyone loses their frigging minds

All that JK Rowling boycott worked out as expected.

I don't see Nintendo really pushing anything Switch 1 in the future so trying to decide between AC:NH or XBC-X to use my last Voucher on. Never played a XenoBlade game before, and seems like a good one to start with. But AC has the pick up and play briefly on a daily/weekly basis that feels more relaxing. I have til November to decide, tho.

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Clings To The Top 40

hcfwesker

@HalBailman "minor assistance" ... you don't think the game would have been more enjoyable if when you found the fire shot chip it actually gave you plasma beam so at that point you would have figured 'oh I should take this to that Ice Mountain location'. But instead you would rather find a chip have to backtrack to an NPC character to build it on your arm Cannon and then as you leave the area he has to radio in and tell you "hey why don't you head to that cold area with your new upgrade"

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Clings To The Top 40

hcfwesker

The best thing I can say about Metroid Prime 4 I only paid $50 for the switch 2 version. 100 eshop credit for $80 at Costco for vouchers for switch one mp4 cost me $40 and then the $10 upgrade and still feel like I overpaid. Metroid Prime 4 is a physical version of the meme "what if Ubisoft made..."
There's hardly any self-satisfaction of figuring out stuff on your own because you are a constantly told where to go what to do with the new item you found. All that was missing was the infamous big fat yellow arrow on top of the screen pointing you where to go. Like I said before, in time, Metroid Prime 4 will become the Halloween 3 of the Prime series.

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

hcfwesker

Anytime you picked up something new he always had a radio in to tell you what to do with it before you even had a chance to think yourself. The worst is out in the desert you wanted to explore collect the green stuff or fill up the map and like it's constant him radio again telling you to check places do this do that even though that's what you're doing
