Re: Metroid: Zero Mission Looks Set for a 14th January Arrival in North America

hcfwesker

I'm one of the first to complain about zero mission in NA, I'll admit and dont care. I didn't care for late SMB3, MK snes, mario RPG, etc because most of those are available on the vWii channel VC, but zero mission was only available as a GBA cart in NA, or through crap ROMs. And that fact we waited 2+ years after japan got it, and 10 months after NoE got it.

I'll finally get to choose an option besides "Nothing for me this week" in tomorrow's poll.

Re: Live: Sit Back and Enjoy the Awesome Games Done Quick Finale, Including Super Metroid and Final Fantasy IV

Really appreciate how you guys here at NL kept readers up to date on the daily nintendo fixes of AGDQ. Usually in the past I think you just announced it once when it started.

Was a great week, although the final runs were met with some disapointments. The AlttP race was interupted when 1 player stomped his feet on the ground during a spastic laugher that caused the other players SNES to power off lol. Then the Super Metroid run, which is a grueling route they chose to do for the event ... had to be played from a pre-saved game file because the runner died 3 times during the beginning portions.

Re: Giveaway: Grab Yourself a Free Copy of Cube Life: Island Survival

I just bought CubeLife last week. Never played this type of game, and enjoying it but its taking awhile for me to catch on lol. No need for me to enter, good luck to those that do enter. Very nice of cypronia to run this promotion for NL readers. Even if some of you don't end up winning, the game is only $7 on the eShop

Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Metroid Fusion

hcfwesker

Guess the next article would read something like ... "Why everyone but NA is still playing Zero Mission"

Can't explain it, but Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time, yet Zero Mission is my favorite 2D metroid game.

Fusion was fun, but I hated that once you saved your game after a certain 'point of no return' (which wasn't clearly specified) you couldn't go back and get 100% items. You have to know before hand on your next playthrough to not progress past a certain event if you want to get 100%.

Re: Review: Minecraft: Wii U Edition (Wii U eShop)

hcfwesker

Never played any of these type of games, but read the cube Life review and was impressed with the developer and their involvement with the community here taking in feedback; so I got Cube Life. Have no idea what I'm doing, but feel I made a better purchase rather than the lazy WiiU Minecraft port.

Re: Monster Hunter X Has Passed 2 Million Units Shipped in Japan

It was Luck that MH sold so well? Who is this guy? LMAO

MH has pretty much taken up all my gaming time. I still buy games, play them for a little bit, but with monster hunter i can spend hours and hours everyday with no regrets. Once you get into it and learn just how deep and addicitve it is, there's really nothing like it out there.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Passes Four Million Global Sales

hcfwesker

@shigulicious I know that is a reason as well, and quite frankly, monster hunter isn't the game for them. I can understand using it to get an immortal reactor or other rare item that just won't drop after many tries ... but not be HR999 with only 40 hours of gameplay, or DB's that cause a monster to sleep every 5 seconds. There are limits. Problem is once you hack for one thing and something is handed to you, why stop there. And that's where alot of these players took it to and abused it to the max.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Passes Four Million Global Sales

@seb5049 ... Running into inexperienced players is going to happen with any franchise new players are introduced to. That's tolerable. What I can't stand is seeing HR rank armors with hacked Edgemaster gems, or Dual Blades with 24,000 points of paralysis lol. It's like they don;t even try to hide they're sad at the game and need cheats to be decent. Powersaves and custom quest hacks have ruined the online experience to where you only feel comfortable hunting with known friends, irl and online.

Re: Review: Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (Wii U)

hcfwesker

Repetition and re-exploring areas is a staple in survival horror games. The fact you knocked off points for this makes me more excited for the game. Games today just prefer the player to go from point A to B and be done. Fatal Frame sticks to its old traditions and why it has a following, as opposed to silent hill and resident evil fans abandoning the newer games in the series; because developers are trying to cater to a different audience.

Re: Cosplay Dreams Come True With Zelda and Zero Suit Samus Outfits in Fatal Frame

hcfwesker

@Fee Really? Because bikini outfits are being replaced? You are playing fatal frame for the wrong reasons if that's your deciding factor on getting the game or not.

As for others complaining about "digital only". We never got FF4 or FF2 Wii edition. I'm just grateful for finally getting a game localized, here in the states, in any shape or form (without Homebrew assistance).

Re: Video: Eiji Aonuma's Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Introduction Is Now Available In English

hcfwesker

@rjejr Plus the fact it was guaranteed for 2015 release, and since that delay announcement we have heard or seen nothing new. I'm waiting for this TP HD rumor to become real, and they announce that THIS is in fact, the Zelda U they were working on the whole time lol ... to try and cover up the real Zelda U we were expecting is announced a couple months later as an NX launch title lol

Re: Rumour: Dataminers Dig Up eShop Listings For Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Skyward Sword And Metroid: Other M

hcfwesker

@Trinexx As a diehard fan of the Metroid series, Other M is pretty much an insult to metroid players, in my opinion. And it's not even the story, or Samus monologues, that bothered me. As mentioned above, you don't find suit upgrades in this game, once you hit a certain sequence in the game's story, you're "allowed" to activate your grapplebeam, speedboost, etc. Not only that, there's absolutely no sense of achievement with exploration or discovery in the game. No memorable environments, "hidden" (lol) items (missiles, energy tanks) are childishly marked on your HUD map ... all you have to figure out is to use a bomb or missile in the exact spot.

Also, if TP HD is real; don't expect a complete remake of the game. It'll probably be the same game that's just been up-res'd to HD with audio retweaked .. along with wiimote/nunchuk or GC controller options.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th October (North America)

hcfwesker

Almost feels like NA is being punished for the Federation Force backlash. i didn't care when SMB3 or SMK took awhile because we still had it as a playable option on the vWii VC. Zero Mission has only been released through GBA cartridge .... and there's seriously no excuse on why it's taking this long.
