I thought the whole point of exclusivity to a store was getting customers INTO your store. Kind of defeats the purpose when you sell them all online with pre-orders.
@sinalefa looking around eBay, this is almost what I'm tempted to do. Just buy the rare ones from overseas. I'm not a fan of pre-ordering, I like going to stores on release day and beating the crowds. But the way amiibo is being handled there is just no hope.
@Warruz Free downloads count as purchases off the eShop. Even with the DDP on the Wii U, any free DL code you used for a free game got you the DDP rewards ( which infact made it count as if you purchased the game even though it was free). So I'm sure it's no different with pre-installed games.
As a Zelda fan since the release of the original LoZ, and a newbie to Monster Hunter just last year ... I'd pick Monster Hunter over LoZ MM anyday MM is my favorite Zelda of the series and would give any excuse to replay it. But if I had to chose only 1, I'd get about 15-20 hours out of MM, where with MH4U I'd get 1500-2000 hours of playtime out of ... easily. 8)
So, exactly how is he playing "Mike Tysons" punch out ... with the wiimote? Seeing as that version isn't available on the Wii VC or Wii U eShop. That's honestly the first thing that popped in my head when watching this. Impressive stuff, though.
@andrew20 3 year platinum member, boguht mh3u digitally on both wiiu & 3ds ... and no codes (but I still get the nintendo spam promotion emails daily). I guess they consider I'm a for sure buyer, so no need to tempt me with demo codes
Luckily I got codes from MH players I play consistently with.
@SpykeXD Not in my view, if that is the case you may as well call any 2D platformer with an open world level select screen a clone of super mario world. Giana Sisters DS to me is one of the hidden gems of the system, not many played, nor could find. It's the reason Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams was a day 1 purchase for me, no questions asked. And is still one of my favorite WiiU eShop titles to this date.
About the topic of discussion. I actually agree with NinjaPigs response. I don't condone what was done, but taking matters public is only asking for a public spectacle to ensue. And for some, there is no such thing as bad publicity. And, thanx, I'll take some of that popcorn
@unrandomsam be sure to add something to that, so it doesn't leave others confused. Yes, the original Giana Sisters game released back on the C64 was a Super Mario Bros ripoff (like 25+ years ago). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMTdr026bZU But the current game on the eShop , no sir. Unless there's something even I don't know since you didn't bother leaving an example
@sinalefa Since you are the next in line, and I enjoy many of your posts, I have 1 spare code for you. Just let me know if you need one, and provide email unless we can PM on here. It is a NA region demo code
@Phantom_R I'm not even talking about the Bomber's Notebook portion. There was more to the article than just what the headline said It was more on Aonuma's quote at the end about "making the doomsday structure a little more manageable"
@Takerkaneanite6 Actually, once you get smash bros from the WiiU eShop, that should give you 599 more points, so you'll actually get $10 back worth, combining with your points you already have.
Well crap. Could have sworn I read elsewhere that the WiiU would be the same as the 3DS version, like how Mighty Switch Force 2 was ported to the WiiU, no HD enhancements. So I picked it up for the 3DS. And of course, it's Shantae, so I'll double dip with no discount
Edge hogging has always been my most hated mechanic in smash bros. I play competitively, not professionally, and very much welcome the new edge mechanics in Smash 4!
Did any of the bidders realize he just joined the day he put the item up for auction. I don't care how rare something is, would never bid that high for a seller with a 0 rating lol. The buyer seems legit, but the actual seller may be a different story.
Pre-ordered Smash WiiU on the eShop, but knew the GC Adapter would be under shipped. Preordered it from my local gamestop, and got it on release day. There is a temporary alternative. The wired Fight Pad from PDP. A GC controller that plugs into your wiimote. Not ideal, I know, but it does work good and could hold some over until more reasonably priced stock is available. http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/accessories/wii-u-fight-pad-controller-mario/115420
Fluidity is one of my favorite WiiWare titles. I just wasn't a fan of Spin Cycle's level/chapter structure on 3DS. Gonna pick up Stealth 2 very soon though.
@IxC Same here. I've played through Bayo 1 before, but decided to start from scratch, and it';s very much worth it The Nintendo costumes are done wonderfully, which is the treat. They're not just skins in the gameplay, but also integrated in the cinematics as well.
@ExtraVinegary doubt they'll go all ambitious like that. Most likely just a quick cash grab port. I've never played these, and with the WiiU lacking my favorite genre "survival horror" I'll probably get this just for the cheap thrills.
Duuuude! I've played Bayo 1, so I knew what to expect. But my heart is still racing at how non stop adrenaline action, visually stunning, and epically cinematic this game is, and just a 4-7 minute playable demo. Wow, and more wow! This is how you do a demo. Cannot wait , 2 more weeks!
And they know Resident Evil 7 will be a disaster after the hatred for RE6 ... reason they're doing the RE1 HD release, that's a guarantee sell to get the core RE fans somewhat back in their good graces for RE7 and Revelations 2
Still holding out hope. It was given a name "Fatal Frame" in a japanese stream, where the only region the series is called Fatal Frame is North America. Of course, Nintendo could have shut this down, themselves. Tecmo wants to release this in all regions, but Nintendo makes the silly decisions not to.
WTF was the point of obtaining exclusivity of the series if you were never even going to use the license to it's full potential. Survival Horror id dead. FF is the ONLY series that has stuck to it's original formula throughout the series. That's why it's unique to the genre and fans WANT it. But, Relase in Japan only, where the region is dominated with handheld gaming; and those piss poor sales will dictate that we don't get it. Bravo, Nintendo. You made your Smash 3DS to compensate for the Japan region and portable console market, while gimping the WiiU version in the process. And, now THIS. You have no clue what gamers want.
@Ichiban I'm in the same boat as you. Told everyone I knew if Nintendo pulled another FF4 with FF5, I'm done. Smahs Bros WiiU will most likely be my last Nintendo purchase. It was a good 28 years. I just cannot keep defending this dumb decisions, one after another, being blinded my nostalgia and faith I had in the company.
@GoshDangTravino "I've never seen the Ice Climbers used professionally, or even for fun" ... Ummmm, yeah, you must not really keep up with the competitive scene of Smash.
Guess I'm in the minority here that really enjoyed the first game and can't recommend it enough. But, I play consoles games on a TV screen, not a small gamepad screen ... so a patch for that was never a concern for me. Really hope we do get the sequel.
Here's my thing on this. Ice Climbers were my 2nd favorite character to use in Brawl, and no I don't use chain grabs. When the full Smash4 roster was revealed last week and no ICs was confirmed ... I never had a reaction to it, and was fine with it. I moved on and was ready and hyped for Smash WiiU, as I have been this entire time. But with this news about WHY they were cut (and the fact they WERE NOT going to be originally cut because they were tested on the WiiU version) is what has me, and many others, disappointed in this news. It is a slap in the face to those who were mostly looking forward to the console version. It's not about just 1 character getting cut. It's about what decisions have been made to satisfy the 3DS version, that the console version must now endure. I'll get the game, yes, and I'll enjoy the game. But my hype isn't the same anymore after reading this news.
And, having exclusive characters for each game would have been better, especially for tournament players. If one character is found broken, like MK in brawl, then both consoles have to deal with that. You'll now see 2 games with the same character uses and characters winning all tournaments, based on a tier list; when each game could have been unique with just a few exclusive characters. I dare say, you won't see many core smash players using the 3DS game much once the WiiU version arrives.
A majority of us never planned on getting Smash 3DS, but almost feel forced to just because it releases a couple/few months earlier that the WiiU version, and we just don't want to be left out.

Even though its 3rd party ... really wish MH4U had a pre-download system; that was so convenient for Smash4. Tempted on the Moon Chronicles games.
