Re: Review: GOLF (Wii U eShop)

hcfwesker

no way can you compare this with games like SMB3 or Megaman2 and justify it costing $5. This game, at most, should only be $2 on eShop. And, lol, the pun wars continue in that conclusion.

Re: Nintendo Download: 17th October (Europe)

hcfwesker

How are they justifying $5 for 8bit NES games like urban champion lol. I can get PS1 games like dino crisis 2, FF7, Resident Evil 2 for $6 on PSN (for my PS3 & PSP). I love Ninty and my WiiU, but my nostalgic attachment (been with Ninty since mid 80's) has been fading and fading these past few months and their VC choices and how their determining their prices. not value of the game but the console it was released on.

And, by that logic, they're creating a VC drought and bringing crappy VC games just so they will have the SLIGHTEST chance in selling. It's ridiculous and gets more painful week after week logging on and reading these 'Weekly Download' topics ... no offense to NL, not your fault

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Confirmed for Wii U and 3DS

hcfwesker

Needs a better villain gallery. It was all reptile-like villains to coincide with the lizard storyline. I was never once excited or hyped at any of the villains revealed during my gameplay (if you're gonna 'borrow' mechanics from the Arkham games, understand the grand villain cast is what also sold the game). Needs less screen tearing; and better alternate costumes longtime Spidey fans actually recognize (not the alternate universe costume crap). I' m looking forward to the game, those are just my most wanted improvements.

Re: Zelda: Wind Waker HD Release Triggers 685% Increase In UK Wii U Hardware Sales

hcfwesker

I'm glad for the little bump in success, but as I've stated before this kinda sends the wrong message to the general audience. As in the fact a 10 year old game from 2 generations ago is what is selling the system. Not new games, not 3rd party games

Don't misread into what I'm saying as "hater post" lol. I'm enjoying WW HD and glad it's gotten the response it has. But when debating with friends on other systems it's kinda hard to use this in an argument, whereas PS3/360 HD ports are just there for being there ... but seems WiiU is banking on the success of their HD port to boost sales of hardware and awareness leading up to the holiday season's release of games.

Re: Two Tribes Confirms Toki Tori 2+ Level Editor Will Not Hatch On Wii U

hcfwesker

Bummed as well. And was only interested in the level editor to share and play other miiverse players creations. I don't use steam, so I'll just brush this off. Still would have rather preferred TT1 ($2 when it arrives on eshop) as consolation but it's only $2 bucks so no worries. Still support 2Tribes and lookin forward to what they have planned for the future of wiiU

Re: Keiji Inafune Won't Rule Out Publishing Mighty No. 9 With Capcom

hcfwesker

So, if Capcom is included, should we already be expecting a $20 DL game to have $20 DLC content on day 1? For myself, I saw this as a formed company rebelling against their former employers to make the game the fans wanted but weren't allowed. Now this almost seems like a "hey capcom, see what we can accomplish without you ... get your checkbook ready if you want us back". Well, over dramatizing a bit, but I was most excited about this project cause it was like a rebellion towards Capcom, the former employees branching out on their own to make the game the fans have been craving for, for so long.

Re: Two Tribes Teases New Title While Describing Toki Tori 2+ Level Editor as "In The Fridge"

hcfwesker

I love Toki Tori 2. My personal Wii-U GOTY. The level editor was one of the major selling points for me in the beginning. I love the game, it is flawless imo ... but scrapping a feature that's been mentioned since day 1 and just saying "oh well" is not the way to handle this. I love 2Tribes, my current favorite indie developer, and there does need to be some kind of consolation towards a major percentage of TT2 owners that the level editor was one of the main reasons it swayed their purchase. I actually mentioned the level editor feature in my Club Nintendo registry of the game in "what was most influential in your decision to purchase this game ...".

I'm not gonna cry over the missing feature, but many will not let this go away silently. I mean, heck, even a free eShop DL of one of their $2 games coming soon would be a good consolation. Give us TT1 for free on eShop, when it arrives, and you're only out $2 per customer that would "actually" redeem the offer.

Re: Review: Myst (3DS)

hcfwesker

The D-pad controls combined with that ridiculous auto center crap alone made this game deserve a negative score. Luckily I got the game for $10 ... I am a Myst fan and was looking for a reason to play through it again after all these years. ABSOLUTELY no effort went into this 3DS port. NONE.

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Delayed Until Early 2014

hcfwesker

As I've posted numerous times, this & Batman AO were my 2 most anticipated games for the Holiday season. I can manage the wait though. Already overwhelmed as it is with games

@JogurtTheYogurt I did the PS1 scaling/stretch thing for dino crisis 2 on ps3; and immediately switched it back to it's original format. Though, the plus side is it's optional on ps3, which Nintendo should have just updated an option in rather than make it the only ratio available.

Re: Conatus Creative Includes Wii U and 3DS Stretch Goals For River City Ransom: Underground

hcfwesker

@TheLilK98 Congratulations, you completely understood my point. lol. I think some are misinterpreting my comments as N bashing, which is not the case. I just understand the general gamer audience and their misconception of Nintendo. That's why I tried to stress the fact, yes, we, us, who go online and read articles and research gaming news know this ... but not everyone does this, and therefore only go by what they see, hear, and observe that is going on in the nintendo market. I don't buy other consoles for games, I'm stubborn and only play on nintendo consoles. I did buy a 360 for 2 reasons, Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie on the xbox arcade thingy. My PS3 sits in my bedroom for 1 purpose, Netflix lol.

@aronatvw I'm sorry but you jumped the gun too soon. I never said that was MY opinion. It's the obvious opinion of the general gaming audience. And I was replying to your comment on why they wouldn't put this on WiiU, before a Sony console, because fans of the game most likely played this on an NES. I understood your comment and agree with the general idea; however, I also understand developers for games are trying to target the bigger user base to reach as many profits as possible. A huge percentage of gamers of the original have grownup and moved on from Nintendo. It's the stone cold truth. I'm not part of that percentage, but I'm not oblivious to the fact that it's true.

Re: Conatus Creative Includes Wii U and 3DS Stretch Goals For River City Ransom: Underground

hcfwesker

@FineLerv I am first and foremost a Nintendo fan when it comes to gaming. And I said, "My friends" not me. Though, I find it hard many times to defend Nintendo's stance in gaming. I like nintendo and what they do for the most part; the problem is there's obviously many who don't and think of nintendo as a console for kids. Which leads many to not go anywhere near purchasing a Nintendo console solely based on its reputation of being the "left out" console. Gamers want Games. They want the 3rd party games that everyone is talking about. Nintendo doesn't get these games. It's not their fault, 3rd party devs just dont want to support nintendo consoles (and when we actually do get a game it's the weaker version of the 3 consoles). So it gives the general audience, who DON'T go online and research or join gaming communities like we do, the assumption that Nintendo doesn't allow these games on their console, and therefore it is assumed, by the general gaming audience, Nintendo consoles are mainly for kids. I am a Nintendo fan til the day I die, I can't deny that; been so for 30+ years. But even I'm not blind enough to see Nintendo's ship has sailed when it comes to the "general core gamer" audience. Goto your local gaming store, and ask 10 random strangers, not friends, what console they'd rather have "Playstation 4 or Nintendo WiiU" without explaining what each system does or is about (just based purely by the name brand they hear); and see what results you come up with.

Re: Nintendo UK Looking To Raise Awareness Of Wii U With Tesco Campaign

hcfwesker

I'm sorry, but wiiU will NEVER captivate casuals like the Wii did. Wii sports is what hooked most casuals in. They bought the system, played the heck out of Wii sports and Nintendo only games, but soon realized all the AAA 3rd party games that were the talk of the town were only being released on competitive consoles ... which is the SAME EXACT thing going on this generation. So all those millions of Wiis just got pushed aside once the Wii Sports fad wore off, and the casuals that "did" become gamers went on to PS3 and 360 to play the games everyone was raving about which you couldn't get for the Wii. And these people know that. The younger audience you want to target ... most kids go with what their friends like, and right now "it's cool" to play CoD on xbox live. That's what kids want to do, they get picked on if they talk about or own a Nintendo console lol. Forget about targeting past Wii owners. Get the games and 3rd party support back. Relaize Nintendo your gamers from the past are grown up and we want grown up games. Yes, I love games like Zelda, Metroid, DK, and Mario, but I also want the AAA 3rd party games others have on competing consoles. Thats what your success is riding on this generation.

Re: Conatus Creative Includes Wii U and 3DS Stretch Goals For River City Ransom: Underground

hcfwesker

@aronatvw Nintendo fans, yes. But most are no longer Nintendo gamers because they grew up, and sadly Nintendo just doesn't realize that as they keep trying to cater to younger and more casual audiences. My friends I grew up with moved on, and they will buy Nintendo Consoles, but only when a new Metroid or Zelda is released for them. That is ALL they play when it comes to Nintendo consoles, everything else they want is only on other consoles.

It all boils down to money and which system is most likely to bring in the most profits.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins Will Be Cheaper on Wii U

hcfwesker

@rjejr Dude! Super Mario 64 DS ( we're talking about one of the first games released for the original DS almost 9 years ago) is STILL $34.95 at Walmart here in the US. Nintendo doesn't budge at all, though they do rarely, on 1st party price drops. lol

As mentioned above by some real insightful posts ... I love the Batman games for their single player campaign only, I NEVER cared about online multiplayer when it was mentioned, and I already pre-ordered this off Amazon a few months back for WiiU. This and DK Tropical Freeze are my 2 most anticipated titles for the holiday season.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th September (North America)

hcfwesker

Everyone should expect SMB 3 VC to co-release with Mario 3D Worlds.
On a side note: Checking these topics have always been the highlight of my Thursday mornings. My thursdays have been very sad lately with whats being released for WiiU VC. I expected some DK games to help build hype for Tropical Freeze, but NES DK3?!?!?! Noone would've bought that if it were part of the 30 cent promotion. They should be releasing the DKC SNES games every few weeks apart building up for Tropical Freeze's release.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass Confirmed for Wii U

hcfwesker

It's almost like these devs plan the DLC before pre-production even begins on the game. I can still remember the enjoyment of Resident Evil 2 when you had to get S ranks with both characters to unlock the 4th Surivivor mini-game, do t 3 times in a row to unlock Tofu. And also performn certain actions in the game to unlock costumes for your next play through. Those were REWARDING extras. Now we just have to pay for them.
And for this pack, the skins I could care less for. I already pre-ordered off Amazon for $50 with their $10 credit back, so $40 for the game might justify buying the 2 extra missions pack.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

hcfwesker

@shokwave2 it all boils down to D'ffrent strokes for D'ffret folks. I can go on and on about how great games like Fluidity and Toki Tori 2 are because I like games that let me do my thing and explore and figure things out for myself. Every GTA game I've played there's an arrow or compass telling me where to go during missions; that's always been a pet peeve of mine in some of these "block buster" games. I play games for the sense of exploring and discovering objectives on my own. Again, as I said, GTA just never did that for me. I understand it has a cult following and it does offer many things to do, it's just not my type of game.

Re: Miyamoto: Retro Studios is High on The List of Candidates For A New Metroid Game

hcfwesker

As I have stressed over and over, Metroid is my favorite franchise of all time, it is in fact my favorite thing in pop-culture (games, movies, music, etc). I say about Other M the same thing I say about Resident Evil 4 to that series ... Other M was a good game, but it was a terrible Metroid game. No sense of exploration or feeling of accomplishment when you obtained upgrades.

This news excites me, because at least we're not stuck with "we have no plans for Metroid at this time ....". right now I would be happy with a Prime 1,2,3 or Trilogy HD WiiU release to hold over til the next game.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

hcfwesker

The games are fun, but wear off in the first few hours. Missions become repetitive, driving routes become longer for the sake of making the game longer. Let others blow their money on the game and enjoy it if thats what they're into. Most of my friends that play GTA rave about every new game for about a week, then complain cause they get bored of the repetitive missions and the only reason they turn on the game is to shoot rockets at helicopters and such. Yes, it's fun to blow stuff up and cause havoc but I need a game the keeps me entertained throughout after the novelty wears off. GTA never did that for me.

Re: Dan Adelman - Nintendo is "Very Much Aware" of Demand for a Unified Account System

hcfwesker

@rjejr You get 10% back from ALL eShop purchases (retail games, VC, Apps, DLC, Indy games, etc). Once you earn 500 points ($50 worth of purchases) you get a $5 redeemable code from a site I'll post below. This can go back towards ANY eShop purchase. The code can be redeemed on your WiiU eShop App by selecting 'Add Funds' > 'Use a prepaid Shop Card something' and enter the16 digit code each $5 you earn.

https://p.nintendo.net/index.html <---- go there, select your region then log in with your WiiU Network ID.

Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

hcfwesker

I used the 3D effects for like the first 2 days of owning my 3DS at launch. upgraded to a 3DS XL, and seen this and I was ecstatic with joy. Until I noticed two things, it doesn't flip open, and doesn't come in black. I dont wanna spend another $200 for a black 3ds xl and transfer my data again, I was hoping this would have been a cheaper alternative since i could careless for the 3D effect. but alas, as we all know they will release new versions of this after the complaints roll in.

Re: Review: Rayman Legends (Wii U)

hcfwesker

Great Review, I'm almost tempted. Like many others, this would have been a perfect buy during the spring drought. I'm not one of those upset over the delay and understand the decision ,... the part that really furiates me though is that a company wouldn't dare delay a PS3/360 game to make it ready for wiiU at the same time; we just get a botched port later down the road at full price. Sadly with new games already announced coming soon, the only platformer for WiiU next on my 'to buy list' is DKC Tropical Freeze.
