Re: Poll: Will You Be Replaying Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Before The Remake Arrives?

Definitely feeling the lure, it's just a question of fate. I'm not going to consciously decide one way or the other, I'm just going to let my gaming fancy do its thing.

Couldn't even tell you which version. I have them all and the hardware to play them, so it could even be a melange...

Tbh, I think i might be more inclined to play an existing copy soon, then buy the new version a bit later down the line. I don't think I need to Day 1 it, and I don't particularly want to encourage Nintendo to endlessly remake the same games.

It's kinda funny how Link and Epona are always together. Epona features prominently on both covers, and in the title screen in-game, but it's very possible (and dare I say, probable, for newcomers, at least) to play the whole game and not 'unlock' Epona at all.

This is a tough vote, because I don't particularly like either cover.

The Europe cover, while featuring nice lighting in the background around the castle, and attractive flowers in the grass, just isn't a very pleasing composition to me (Death Mountain and Lon Lon Ranch cut in half, Link/Epona to far towards the corner - just smacks of cropping a bigger picture to fit 3DS ratio), and I wouldn't have run with that character art style. I want to like this cover, because it feels like it's trying to inspire me, but it just kinda misses. Kinda reminds me of the European Breath of the Wild cover - a bit of a letdown.

The North American cover, while pretty boring and fairly plain, doesn't irritate me as much, and the gold feels kinda fitting for the legendary status the game had at the time of the 3DS release, so I think it's going to get my vote.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Brings 12 Sports To Switch 2 Later This Year

How to take me to 100 and then dump me down at 6-7.

Seems really disappointing. Real lack of ambition being shown by Nintendo with their sports games since the Wii.

Wii Sports Club - good but too few sports, just an HD Wii Sports with basic online.

Switch Sports - Good starting point for a reboot, Football was great, the best thing they've done since the Wii, but Bowling felt too easy, and they only added a very limited Golf and a rubbish Basketball.

Then this, Switch Sports Resort, they take Football away (!) but keep Basketball - what in the actual eff 🤬🤷🏼‍♂️🤬😭 and don't bring anything new apart from Thumb Wrestling...

Switch Sports Resort should have 24 sports minimum, or 12 sports that are very good and offer more than just the same experience we've had for 20 years.

If anyone ever had the gall to call me a backwater noble, I would spit in their face.

Interesting detail at 1:10, where the attack on the monster appears to result in the top of the large rock in the background to be sliced off. Some environmental modification of some sort going on...

It's kinda odd seeing how many people seem to have an issue with computers being used to create computer games.

Untitled

How many games over the past 20 years have used lighting and shadow effects entirely human generated? How many games use completely hand drawn graphics? How many sound effects and music tracks are purely analogue instrument derived?

Dem computers. **** 'em.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th May)

A rare top 10 placing in Tetris 99 last night helped me smash the padlock on the Yoshi theme, leaving me to carry on with the delightful Mysterious Book this weekend, as well as continuing with Indy's gaping hole.

I tried the Ball X Pit trial, but I found it too much like Vampire Survivors in the semi-mindless simplicity of it's time-snatching nature.

Peace, love, Golden Plumebrellas and pixels to all ✌🏼❤️🌂🕹️ xxx

Re: Amazon Pre-Order Listing Puts Pokémon Winds & Waves At €80

I feel like I'm going to let Yoshi and the Mysterious Book guide my investment this generation.

I'm sticking with my pre-order, because I love Yoshi games, and will judge for myself whether the price paid turns out to be regretted or not. If it burns me, I shall very likely withdraw my custom from many new games until I can pick them up used or heavily discounted in a few years time. My collection will keep me more than busy and I'm not particularly keen on the idea of getting gouged as a reward for all my support over the past 10 years.

Would you believe I am still playing Yoshi's Crafted World? Must have clocked at least 40 hours across Switch 1 & 2 by now. Turns out there was at least two more whole sections of levels unlocked that I hadn't known about. So I've just had Yoshi planet hopping and am now on a downright tricky little river-riding level that is proving to be a bit of a ball buster when it comes to 100%ing it (those giant fish can just **** right off).

But I had to get Indiana Jones and the Great Circle day one, so I can't reasonably consider not opening that and cracking some whip some time around the FA Cup Final today.

Plus I'm gagging for some Star Fox, so will either bust out 64 3D or Zero at some point too, hopefully.

Peace, love, Belongs in a museums and pixels to all ✌🏼❤️🏛️🕹️ xxx

While this may be good, I already have the geometry wars games for my steamdeck and they play great. I’ll just need to play that to satisfy this itch and save some $$ since nothing beats geometry wars retro evolved.

Oh, wow... bummer.

Kinda strange that they'd pull the plug on such a game-changing project so close to release. Probably a licensing issue or something else equally insurmountable.

Oh well, SEGA, great job - you gave it everything you have and we're proud of your efforts. Better luck next time. Our loss 😥
