man, im actually looking forward to fortnite on switch! the mouse control capabilities of the switch 2 joycon could mean a lot for games i usually play on pc exclusively, and fortnite is DEFINENTELY one of those

yeah its kind of crazy that theres a whole button for a paid service i think the idea with this all was to make nso basically essential by adding more value via all the new features, but it still feels kinda scummy. They are adding pretty great value to the subscription, but 450+ for the console is already so much with the 70+ games, that a 60$ per year subscription service can really feel like a slap in the face. i dont think this would be that big of a deal if there wasnt so much other drama surrounding the console. I think im gonna get it (assuming tarrifs dont come back and jack the price up so high), but i can totally get the people who wont.

for me, definentely metroid and pokemon! I dont usually play pokemon games, but i loved arceus and this looks really good too. I wont be preordering just in case it doesnt turn out good, but i genuinely think it'll be great. I want to be more excited for tomodachi life and rhythm heaven, but they wont come out for such a long time that ill just wait to hear more. Also, i dont know how much theyre planning on selling rhythm heaven for yet, but i dont think a $60 pricetag will work out too well for them

im a little weirded out that they arent doing the whole soundtrack, but all my favorite tracks are accounted for here so i cant be too mad! Northeast frost street is a wintertime BANGER. I just hope that nintendo collabs with sega at some point for this service because my winter playlists are not complete without persona and sonic music lol

no way! Have you SEEN the modding space for the 3ds? I bet you that within 5 years, the switch will be a homebrew beast (it is now, but i dont wanna mess with my vanilla switch until its no longer the new kid on the block)

I personally dont care for horror games, but my friends looooove this game so i'm happy for them! Watched a friend playthrough the game and it was really neat. Happy to see it doing well!

@ScalenePowers i had a great time at last year's February state of play as thats when they announced sonic x shadow, and now it seems as if we'll be getting a proper reveal of sonic racing, so im really getting my sonic fan bang for my buck lol!

from metaphor to sonic x shadow, it was a pretty great year to be a sega fan!

as much as we want stuff like dk64, diddy kong racing, smash 64, ect., im perfecty fine with waiting. I kinda like getting (relatively) more niche games to toy around with that ive never played rather than stuff i already know about! To just drop all their heavy hitters at once isnt really a sustainable way of managing hype around these old game drops anyways (though i really wish they were going faster, but its not like we dont have alternative ways of getting access to the games ourselves).

it feels really great to see sonic x shadow doing so well! Its such a great package, especially if you havent played the original sonic generations. im glad it was included so i can finally play it on the go, as the original sonic gens is one of my most-played steam games! And in general, its great to see everyone finally like a recent sonic game. Turns out if you let your talented developers make good games without insane time restrictions, you get high quality, high selling, non-reputation-destroying games! Who woulda thunk?

you know what, ive been waiting and waiting to play red dead redemption 2. If its on switch 2 around launch, i just might go for it then!

@Olliemar28 yeah im right there with you man. dont get me wrong, i would have loved it to be a surprise. But this was sort of bound to happen, given that pretty much everything over the past 8 years has been leaked before reveal. It stinks, but im excited to see what REALLY matters: if streetpass and badge arcade are back! And the games, i guess.

@Sonicka frontiers 2 both excites and worries me. If we can get an expansion and improvement of the open zones like in frontiers but with cyberspace both a: built in naturally into the environment and b: with level design on par with what we saw in shadow gens, its practically a done deal for me. My biggest wish for it though has to be for us not to see it officially announced for a few years please i need this to not be another under baked mess "see, sonic was never good" kind of game lets keep the good games coming please sega i beg of you

@LikelySatan unleashed is fun! Though based on your comments im seeing here you dont really care for the boost formula so i cant blame you for not liking the game in that case. I feel like sonic games get REALLY good if you can indoctrinate yourself in the world and vibes of sonic (duh, if you like something its good, but i digress). Like i totally get not liking a majority or even every sonic game, but there's this vibe about them in the music, gameplay, and level design that just has me hook line and sinker more times than not. There's still definitely some realll stinkers (looking at YOU forces and original 06), but there's some really great stuff too! The classic era titles and mania are some of my favorite 2d platformers, the adventure era stuff is dripping with jank (but also personality, style, and this gamecube era nostalgic vibe i just cannot get enough of), and the boost era has some of the most roller-coastery blood-pumpin music and levels in ANY game ive ever played! I still havent played shadow yet, though i do plan on trying it in the future. Im so deep in the series at this point i might as well play them all LOL

ehh, screw it! Call me a fool, but I'm optimistic for whatever comes next. Frontiers did so much right and shadow generations showed us that the current sonic team can still make really fun levels, so im ready dangit! Im ready to be disappointed but im ready to be pleasantly surprised too. There's obviously a lot of bad blood between the average consumer and sonic products as is evident here and in pretty much any other relevant comment section anywhere, but i'd love for the script to be flipped over the coming years. I really think they can make sonic games on par with mario ones, if they play their cards right.

im so glad we finally got the version of supporting me from the trailer with the vocals! It sounds so much better than the in-game version. That and the extra random city escape remix is very much appreciated, though i would have loved to hear a full mix from the launch trailer's bgm. overall, im just glad we finally got everything!

dang, there are some heavy hitters on this list! Ive been telling myself to play into the breach for years and its always on sale, maybe ill actually buy it this time (and let it collect dust in the recesses of my backlog LOL)

@Gamergirl94 yeah it stinks though itd probably be pretty easy to make one since something pretty consumer-ready like a raspberry pi can run dreamcast well

i can totally get this approach, but id love to see a return of the male/female protagonist in future games. It makes a second playthrough more interesting, which is great for super long games like these!

@Truegamer79 honestly, i kind of hope it IS. That way, they can keep costs down because id love for this thing to be affordable. From what I understand, the ps4 and ps5 are very similar and most new games release on both, so why not work with older, cheaper hardware thats barely worse than the new stuff? Though i doubt i would be too mad if the console WAS a powerhouse; truth be told im probably gonna buy it either way LOL
