Not a question for Nintendo, but Nintendo Life: how do you determine your Switch 1 vs Switch 2 reporting in the days and months following Switch 2 release? I forget how long you continued to cover 3DS after Switch 1 release.

I won’t be purchasing Switch 2 at launch, but hopefully by the end of year. I guess I hope that you continue to cover Switch 1 for a while.

I am one who will not get a switch 2 at launch, but wait at least a few months.

While I do get AAA games, many of my games are smaller puzzle games, race games, which I wonder how their price will increase.

Also, a couple people in this thread mentioned already preordering, how is that possible?

@IOI Agreed about pricing. No launch purchase for me. Maybe I will get it by the end of the year. But no hurry.

I was just wondering how many games were on the original Switch at launch, and a month after launch. Versus: how many games will be on Switch 2 at launch and a month later.

I would assume the Switch 2 eshop will be easy to navigate with only so many games. Am I missing something?

I absolutely loved Rhythm Heaven Megamix on 3DS. This is going to be good. Yes, initially I was bummed by 2026 release. But whatever—it is coming hopefully.

Yes: very good that they specifically say and play Switch footage. It looks great, and I had to stop video to avoid any more info. I want to go into this game with as little info as possible. Definitely high on my wish list.

I watched at 8:16 AM this morning. I think this might be the update that sends me to the store. It just looks so Nintendo, and I absolutely love game music and sound.

Shin Chan and the professor. Strange game, but oddly riveting. It definitely reminds me of Attack of the Friday Monsters, but also different. New Rocket League season! Moto GP 24, Rush Rally Origins.

Yes, I put this on my wish list, but will take it off. One reason that I like simple “cosy” games is because they are simple and easy to play. This game sounds like too big of a hassle. I might wait for sale and fix. Thank you for the review!

Absolutely great story. Thank you for sharing it. While I have many great gaming memories, I will never forget playing Spiritfarer. Soon after I played it, I moved in with my Dad as he went on hospice and lived a month with him before he died. On the day he died my phone alarm went off, it was notifying me that a Spiritfarer documentary was being released that day. I didn’t watch the video that day, but I was reminded how games are important. Thanks again for sharing your story. I wish you the best.

@Axecon I really wanted to like Blue Fire, but it also crashed on me. I put 15? hours into it when I got too a boss I couldn’t beat. And I had been beating bosses before—frustrating. Hopefully you didn’t put too much time in it.

Robobot is a great game. The only thing stopping me from getting the figure is how to explain it to my wife. Hmmmmm.

Mentioning the Trials game got my attention. I love Trials Rising. And I love metriodvanias. But the difficulty. Yes I know git gud. And I died 5000+ times in Celeste. But the game needs to be very good to justify the time spent getting good. This game might be that good. Thanks for the review!

I’ve had my Hori pros for some time now and love them. Like others have posted, it’s too late in Switch’s life to get new now.

I am very excited about the switch 2. Having wanted a “Switch Pro” for years, I am happy to see the Switch 2. But: I may be less than happy to see a Switch 3 in seven years.

I would probably buy a Switch 3, but I might rather have some strange donut thing. I don’t know.

But right now I am so happy to be a Nintendo fan.

Neva is a great game! Definitely different than Gris: but I am having a great time admiring the beauty.

Yes, it looks brilliant. But those platforming sections look challenging. I hope the controls are good and responsive. (Or the sections aren’t as challenging as they look).

Sakuna: Rice and Ruin is a great game!

My only constraint is not paying a scalper. As soon as I can buy a S2 at regular price I am buying.

This game is sooo much fun. The many Zelda references are funny and the game play mechanics work great. While I liked the various quests, it was also fun to just roam the island. I look forward to seeing this DLC.

This is great. As someone who has checked out the eshop almost every week since launch, I can attest that it needed help in the beginning and only become worse. Please Nintendo, look at this!

This makes me want to try Robobot again. If it plays well—I am there.

Let me be one more person who says they love Stardew. Yes, it took me a while to get into it. I think when I got the iridium sprinklers, I got into the groove. The storyline is great: completing a community center? Simply awesome. Stardew valley is definitely in my top ten games of all time.

Well, I took a break from Persona 5 Royal. At the end of second palace, 20 hours and I need a break. The game is intense. Paper trail is a fun folding game, Mantis Burn racing is pretty decent top down racer and Travel Mosaics is a great nonagram game. And Rocket League.

Almost done 2nd palace in Persona 5 Royal. Great game, but intense. After about 20 hours I am going to take a break. Rocket League, Mantis Burn racing, Travel mosaics.

Yes, this is not for me. But thanks for the review. And shout out to Arise: a simple story. Now that game is great. The storytelling and visuals and music all combine to make a memorable experience.

@premko1 thanks for the suggestion. Grip was on my wishlist for a long time. But the 7/10 review here mentions fidgety controls. It looks cool, but I would probably crash a lot.

@-wc- Because I don’t own another console I really can’t argue with you. (although I plan to buy another for the main reason of getting Forza). But, that said, I do like many of the racing games on Switch. Each one has their individual take on racing—and I like to see how different devs make different games. Here are my top racing games.

@tgt I agree with your words about Okami. I felt the same way. Despite its flaws, it is still a ten for me. Artwork, fighting system, story: what a memorable game.

If Nintendo only sold one Switch, it would still be better than a PlayStation.

@Purgatorium playing one game at a time is perfectly understandable. Good for you. I like playing multiple games depending on circumstances. If I have 45+ minutes, I will play an intense game with limited save points; like Persona 5 Royal. If I have 30 minutes or less, I will play a couple matches in Rocket League. If I have a little time, maybe a puzzle in Travel Mosaics, or a race in Rush Rally Origins.

But you do it your way, there are many ways to play.

This is good news and it makes sense. It’s a given that Switch 2 will sell like crazy. But even with that stockpile, I think it’ll be hard to find. I plan to try my best to get it asap, but definitely avoid scalping.

I just played Sakuna a year ago and it was phenomenal. I really like the unique combination of farming 3D combat 2D. And the story line is riveting. I am definitely interested in this game.
