Re: Soapbox: Why Aren't There More Books About Games?

Great article! As someone who is usually always reading a nonfiction and fiction book, a regular at my local library, I too wonder at the disconnect between the two.

I wonder how long it will take for games to be recognized as literary, artistic, musical works to be treated with respect.

I absolutely loved this game. The music and visuals are great and hilarious. The only drawback for me was to play the game well, I had to focus on music and mostly ignore the visuals. But playing each song multiple times let me see the zany antics on screen.

This is the kind of game that puts a big smile on your face.

Yes! This is the perfect “play for 10 minutes” game. I thought the level progression was slow, but perfectly suited for this game. The music and colors and animation of the little guy climbing around: all make it a great game.

Picked up Chicory on sale. So far it’s okay, I am still figuring out game play. After finishing Behind the Frame, it is different. Both games have painting mechanics, but quite different. Art of Rally is good, if only the frame rate didn’t stutter every few minutes, it would be great. And Rocket League.

Happy gaming everyone!

@CountDrakeulah I agree with your assessment of Owlboy. I played the whole game: I liked the art, but the game play and overall game design left me wanting a lot more.

Am I the only one who didn’t like this game? I played it many hours and enjoyed the gameplay until I felt like I was addicted, which was not a good thing. The randomness of the progression made me feel like I was getting nowhere, but I felt compelled to keep going. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me…

Re: Game Freak's Secret Best Game Is No Longer 3DS Exclusive

I wish I responded sooner!

At first I played this game a lot on my 3DS, so much so, that I wore a little circle on the bottom corner from playing the game.

After playing it for 15 to 20 hours, I realized that it was too random for me. Even with breeding my horses, I never felt like I was building a mastery of the game. it was simply how the cards played.

And yes, as someone mentioned, it is addictive. I realized that I was playing not out of fun, but addiction. it was weird.
