@LikelySatan wow, I am really sorry to hear that. That sounds painful: not only the selling of the games, but as you said, not understanding and appreciating who you really are. I hope you are in a better place now.
215 hours, 130 shrines, 117 light roots and a ton of fun. I am waiting for some good free time to finish the end. I am SO glad that I took a break from game media. The first time a tree attacked me was hilarious.
I have not played a single other game for three months, which is a first for me since I usually play multiple games at once.
Every week since Switch’s launch I have checked out the What’s New news. For the past year or two it has been devolving. And with more bad games, there is no corresponding better search options.
But that really doesn’t bother me since I will be playing only TotK for the rest of my life.
Watched the entire video, hilarious! Occasionally I have seen cheap things like this on store shelves. Now I am happy that I did not purchase. Thanks for the video!
Great article! I tried super monkey ball when it went on sale, and I definitely like Marble it Up better. Like the reviewer states: the sound, the visuals and gameplay all combine to make a great happy game.
Thank you, Nintendo Life, for letting me know about Ultra!
After over a month I started peaking at game media. I am so happy that I went into Zelda relatively blind and enjoyed the first month of media blackout. Over 100 hours and I am playing nothing else. In the past 10 years I have always played multiple games at the same time. Not two of the same genre, but a racing game, a puzzle game, an adventure game. This is the first time that I am putting all my game time into one game.
Good bye! I have managed to avoid most information about TOTK, not watching the game play footage or the last couple trailers.
From here on I am stopping gaming media and going in with as little outside information as possible. I love Nintendo Life, but I will see you in a month or more. Happy gaming!
I am trying to finish Sakuna Rice and Ruin before TOTK. I think I can. Wreckfest is a fun racer, a Little Golf Journey is my chill game and a few matches in Rocket League.
@Olrun Sorry, saw this yesterday, couldn't respond until now.
I am so sorry! I have over 500 hours in my island. While I haven't visited in months, I can't imagine losing it. I am assuming that you did not delete it on purpose. Either way, I wish you well!
@deecas I am about 25 hours into Sakuna. I think I am nearing the end, but it is hard to tell. And, I am playing it slow to enjoy it more. What a great game!
I saw it last night and loved it. My kid told me it was great to see it. I understand the reviewer’s criticisms, but for me it was great to see a game so well adapted to movie. I would give it a 9/10.
Well, that’s good news! This game went from a “no” to a “maybe”. It says something about the developers when the put this kind of effort into a released game.
Thank you for the informative review! While I was intrigued by the visuals, the description of gameplay was enough for me to stay away from this game. I can tolerate a difficult boss or a minor game mechanic frustration, but this is way too much.
@Rainz yes! I am with you. I just didn’t know when to start. With ACNH I gave up gaming media a month before the game release. I am glad I went in mostly blind.
While I love this site and have been on it for years, you are right, there will be many stories based on tomorrow’s video. And more as the release approaches.
@Not_Soos interesting…. While I would love it, I don’t think Nintendo will do it. Zelda and Mario are so emblematic of the company. Maybe if Animal Crossing outsells the others in the next generation, maybe…
Yes! I loved this game! This game showed me how a game could be so different from every other game I played. Beautiful vistas, intriguing story, relaxing mechanics.
I loved how the train traversed in the background during game play. What an adventure!
I am curious about the difficulty for devs to make a demo. I love demos and wish every game had them. But how much extra work is it for devs? And why are some demo files big and others relatively small?
Great article! As someone who is usually always reading a nonfiction and fiction book, a regular at my local library, I too wonder at the disconnect between the two.
I wonder how long it will take for games to be recognized as literary, artistic, musical works to be treated with respect.
I absolutely loved this game. The music and visuals are great and hilarious. The only drawback for me was to play the game well, I had to focus on music and mostly ignore the visuals. But playing each song multiple times let me see the zany antics on screen.
This is the kind of game that puts a big smile on your face.
@Magician hello! How is Grow? I played the previous game, Yonder. It was okay except for stutters in the frame rate. Is Grow significantly better than Yonder?
@antisumo thanks for that. Actually I quit Stardew Valley after a few hours—then months later played it again—and put in 100 hours. I will try No Mans Sky again and hopefully it will click. Thanks!
Okay, I bought this game not too long ago on sale. I like the concept, like the flying around and collecting. But it just doesn’t click for me. Maybe I will try again. I want to like it, but….
Yes! This is the perfect “play for 10 minutes” game. I thought the level progression was slow, but perfectly suited for this game. The music and colors and animation of the little guy climbing around: all make it a great game.
Sakuna: rice and ruin is becoming a real fun game. Only a few hours into it, I am starting to figure things out. I love the dialogue between characters.

I believe the first had a demo, I was unimpressed. But with this review, I am very interested.

30 hours into Sakuna rice and ruin and it is fantastic! Just started Wreckfest which is a lot of fun. And Rocket League.

Okay, forgive my ignorance. Just because they own 6%, does that mean they have any artistic influence?
I don’t like it, but I also assume many products that I consume are making profits for bad organizations.
