@Mallow I rate your comment at 7.

Seriously, you make a good point. Most games appeal to specific genres and the gamers who love them. An RPG fan most likely will not rate a simple puzzle with a high score. A direct with mostly FPS games will not impress a cozy game fan.

And why is “rating” so important anyway. People will tell me, have a great day! What if I am happy with a “okay” day?

You make a good point, Mallow. And I like your name since I love Pushmo!

@Yalloo I love your explanation on the tracking of games played (I also have a column with my 1-10 rating). And your statement that when I feel satisfied, the game is completed. It is personal, and each person plays their way: I know I had to “get over” a personal small obsession to finish almost every game.

Finally, I completely agree that video games are the most evolved art. Adding together storytelling, sound, music, art, animation and more makes the valid argument that gaming is the height of human expression.

While I took a peek at the ACNH update, it is hard and unusual for me to return to games I’ve already played. Instead, I am enjoying my time with Fantasy Life i, this game promises to be fun, once I get through the tutorials.

Grid Legends is great. Like the NL reviewer wrote, the cutscenes in story mode are cringy, but also funny. After spending so much time on the first Grid game, I am loving all the new tracks.

Grapple Dogs, Rocket League and Hidden Cats are also in my play rotation.

Happy gaming everyone!

Over the years I have learned to recognize the differences in graphics and frame rates. And I really appreciate a game that provides choices. That said, in a game like this most of the time I am so focused on the gameplay (ie not crashing) that I don’t notice much else.

I am very excited for this game!

@boxyguy I’ve put hundreds of hours in ACNH and played a lot of the Happy Home design dlc. I never knew that finishing HH unlocked the ability to decorate villagers homes. That is cool.

That said, I am only buying dlc because I am an AC super fan. I will check it out but doubt that I will put significant more time into the game. ACNH is a great game, and I hope they are working on the next AC.

@Sambuc I still play Burnout Paradise once in a while. I put many hours into it, fully upgraded my “license” which basically means I beat the game. But it is still fun to drop in, speed around the city as fast as I can.

Burnout Paradise, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Grid are, IMO, the best racing games on Switch. I continue to play each of them. I hope you enjoy the game!

I am hoping to finish Bananza this weekend. With a game this good, I don’t want it to end. But, I need to finish then I can go back to levels to smash and explore more. I got Grapple Dogs on sale and it is a cool little platformer. Hidden Cats Rio de Janerio is my guilty pleasure and I always play a few matches in Rocket League.

Happy gaming everyone!

I picked up Disney Illusion Island after putting a few hours in the free game trial. I am not a fan of Disney, but the platforming is fun, the music is great and the artwork is stunning. The story is meh, but the rest is cool.

Bananza: finally reached sub level 1000. There is so much to do in each level, it’s almost overwhelming. And every session I love just smashing things for awhile.

Rocket League: 7 years and still playing almost every day.

Happy gaming everyone!

Re: Feature: The Art I 'Stole' From Nintendo

This may be the best Nintendo Life story I’ve ever read. And I’ve been here many years. Absolutely beautiful story and so well told! As an artist, gamer and mail carrier, it is especially poignant to me. I applaud your efforts to connect artists with their art, and for preserving the art for others. Thank you very much for doing what you did, and thank you for sharing your story with us!
