@boxyguy I’ve put hundreds of hours in ACNH and played a lot of the Happy Home design dlc. I never knew that finishing HH unlocked the ability to decorate villagers homes. That is cool.

That said, I am only buying dlc because I am an AC super fan. I will check it out but doubt that I will put significant more time into the game. ACNH is a great game, and I hope they are working on the next AC.

@Sambuc I still play Burnout Paradise once in a while. I put many hours into it, fully upgraded my “license” which basically means I beat the game. But it is still fun to drop in, speed around the city as fast as I can.

Burnout Paradise, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Grid are, IMO, the best racing games on Switch. I continue to play each of them. I hope you enjoy the game!

I am hoping to finish Bananza this weekend. With a game this good, I don’t want it to end. But, I need to finish then I can go back to levels to smash and explore more. I got Grapple Dogs on sale and it is a cool little platformer. Hidden Cats Rio de Janerio is my guilty pleasure and I always play a few matches in Rocket League.

I am one of those people who haven’t played Pokémon for awhile. This seems different in a good way and the artwork is captivating.

I am still playing it. Do you ever slow down your play time as you approach the end of a good game? You don’t want it to end so you dawdle on each level. I have to finish it soon though.

I wonder if the will split my Switch 1 and Switch 2 time. Probably since I kept my account it will cover both consoles together.

@USWITCH64 well, I like the game also. And I play it more than the previous MK because of the open world. That said, with a daughter moved out, the game is played less than MK8.

Great article. I try to be thoughtful with my gaming purchases, and I did feel the need to justify my Switch 2 purchase. In my life scenario, it was a relatively easy decision. But I do like reading about others decision making process. Thanks!

I think I am nearing the end of Illusion Island. I am not a big fan of Disney, but this game is beautiful. Bananza, Grid and Rocket League.

I still play Need for Speed Hot Pursuit occasionally on Switch. Unfortunately Wii was my first console, so I never had an opportunity to play others. The visuals look impressive. I guess there is little chance of this being ported or remastered…

I’m glad to hear about Xenoblade X definitive. It’s on my wish list and I am hoping for a sale soon.

Just once, it stopped working. Reboot fixed mine, thankfully.

I picked up Disney Illusion Island after putting a few hours in the free game trial. I am not a fan of Disney, but the platforming is fun, the music is great and the artwork is stunning. The story is meh, but the rest is cool.

Bananza: finally reached sub level 1000. There is so much to do in each level, it’s almost overwhelming. And every session I love just smashing things for awhile.

Rocket League: 7 years and still playing almost every day.

The only way I would watch an Animal Crossing movie is if they talked the way they do in the game, with no speech bubbles or subtitles.

Arg! This app is meant for me because I absolutely love Nintendo music. Unfortunately my phone is one generation short of being able to install. Yes, I will update my phone sometime, but until then sadness reigns in me.

@Mikeg1965 you make a good point. Yes, the game could simply get updates every so often. But part of the satisfying gameplay is to see the area go from undeveloped to developed in the gamers own style.

With well over 600 hours in ACNH, I am pretty much done. I played it for an extra dozen hours on S2 this summer, but stopped. Of course I’ll get the update, probably play another dozen hours, and stop again. I really like this article and I can only hope a new game is sooner rather than later.

@SplatRay001 I started playing it again this summer. I saw my storage and made a mini game for myself to get rid of stuff. I went from having almost full storage to less than 2000. It’s harder than I thought. Now? Oh well.

As a big Shantae fan, I have to say this is good news. Yes, some of the games are better than others, but they always put a smile on my face.

I have played 3 mainline Pokémon games. The reason that I never played a fourth game was because while I liked the gameplay, the games felt all too similar. This franchise needs a big change for me to return.

Yes, I have the book and highly recommend it. Iwata and those around him created things I love. This book gives great insights on life in general and gaming.

I’ve played my S2 every day since I got it about 2.5 months ago. I am very happy with it and look forward to years of good gaming.

Bananza is great. I’m nearing the end of level 700. Caravan Sandwitch, Rocket League and Rush Rally.

@WoomyNNYes I just put the cartridge in to play on Switch 2. Loading times are faster, but not as fast as I thought. (Rocket League load times are much faster for me now) I played Braking Bad: I think that sandstorm covered up a train; which is now visible on Switch 2. It does look better. Then I played my favorite: Gigatrack. The 15 to 20 minutes it takes to ride that track are some of the best of gaming.

@WoomyNNYes I don’t have that many hours in Trials Rising, but I love it. It’s one of very few games that I continue to replay over the years. It is insane. I really should start it on my switch 2 to see if graphics have improved. Even so: it’s still a great game and always puts a smile on my face. (Except for the difficult tracks).

@shonenjump86 I also just got the Switch 2 a week ago. It is great.

Bananza is great! Smashing stuff feels so good. Plus, there’s quite a bit of content on each level. MKW is pure Nintendo fun. Fast Fusion pumps the adrenaline.

And I can’t believe I am playing Windwaker, having never played it.

I understand some of the criticisms about switch 2, and available games, but over all I am over the moon with this new console.

This week I am playing my Switch 2, which Nintendo sent yesterday! I am so happy so far. Barely set it up, but Rocket League looks great. Downloading MKW now. And I have a week of vacation. I am so happy.

The past 7+ years have been the best gaming in my life.

I did like Florence. It’s rare I pick up a visual novel, but I like a good story and trying different things. Thanks for the review.
