As another steam world fan, this is a must buy. However, just as I waited for quest to go on sale, I might have to wait a while for this. But, I am excited about this!
With a wish list of over 30 titles, I am wondering which of those will go on sale, and how much space I have for all these games. I would get more memory, but I prefer to simply delete or archive. Oh, decisions!
I played it straight, no other games, for 3 months and over 200 hours. It was great and my favorite game of all time. That said: I understand the criticisms that are mentioned here—many of them valid. Despite that, imo the game as a whole rose above its flaws to be a masterpiece.
@gcunit Good point! The past 7 years have been the greatest gaming years of my life. I will keep my switch if only as a reminder of this wonderful era of gaming.
I am slowly playing Wonder. But also finished a tiny sticker tale, a fun diversion. And I just got Wavetale on sale, wow it’s a good looking game with very satisfying character movements. And Rocket League.
One more comment for themes. Last time I opened up my 3ds, a smile came on my face just seeing the theme. And to think that I had my multiple themes set on random…come on Nintendo!
2048 is one of my favorite short games on 3ds. Do I just bought this game because of the cheap price. The review is spot on. It’s fun but short and simple. And yes, after one listen, the music has to be turned off. A nice part is watching the fruit slowly settle and hope for a match.
Playing Wonder and loving it! I know it’s good so far because of my tea test. I sit down to play with a hot cup of tea. Next thing I know, the tea is cold and I have a big smile on my face.
I played the first game and liked it. Like already said: it is like racing toy cars. Once I got the feel, it was good happy fun. Right now I am finishing Wreckfest, which is hilarious. Then, I bought on sale WRC 2, graphics not so good, but the game feel is so good. I will probably buy this on sale. I am glad the review is good.
The main reason that I got my 2ds was to have a second animal crossing new leaf. It was great. I still like it, but I do play my 3ds more. And I wouldn’t call it ugly, maybe unique.
@samuelvictor yes! I did talk to Sable enough times to get the story. Like you, I felt a little sad, kept talking and was rewarded with a good story. I love to find stuff like that in a game. Thanks for reminding me!
Just finished Tinykin. Great game that makes me consider getting Pikmin 4. Tinykin has so many hidden places, and funny dialog. Now to finish Wreckfest and more Rocket League.
Yes, as difficult as it was: I blacked out gaming media before ToTK launched, and a few weeks after. It was great. Likewise I am not watching any videos for Wonder for the same reason. I love gaming media, but I also love going into a game with as few spoilers as possible. Thanks for the article!
After finishing TotK last week, I bopped around with Rocket League, Marble it up. Now I am going back to finish Sakuna, rice and ruin, which I paused to play TotK. Sakuna is a great game.
@PikaPhantom I liked it. I played the entire first game and liked it, but lost interest soon after beginning the second. The visuals are obviously what they are, I will say the gameplay was satisfying. Not great, but pretty good. I got it on sale and would recommend it on sale.
I got Fenyx on sale and it was very good. But I am not heartbroken about the lack of sequel. Although I put many hours into the game, I stopped near the end with a difficulty spike. I would still recommend it.
@larryisaman I agree with your assessment of Okami. While I still love the game, I would have been more happy for the game to end earlier. I hope it goes well for you!
A couple days ago I finished Tears of the Kingdom. Best video game ever. 220 hours and I didn’t play another game for three months.
Now I have jumped back to multiple games. Going to try new Marble it Up, after loving the first game. Rocket League, Travel Mosiacs, Road Rally 3 and Wreckfest.
TotK: forever. It is now my favorite game of all time and I am only now starting to finish it. I have not played another game on my switch for three months. I love this game!
Getting into gaming later in life means I had less time to sell or trade in games. So, I have learned from comments like this to keep everything. Now, if only I had space to display it properly…
@LikelySatan wow, I am really sorry to hear that. That sounds painful: not only the selling of the games, but as you said, not understanding and appreciating who you really are. I hope you are in a better place now.
215 hours, 130 shrines, 117 light roots and a ton of fun. I am waiting for some good free time to finish the end. I am SO glad that I took a break from game media. The first time a tree attacked me was hilarious.
I have not played a single other game for three months, which is a first for me since I usually play multiple games at once.
Every week since Switch’s launch I have checked out the What’s New news. For the past year or two it has been devolving. And with more bad games, there is no corresponding better search options.
But that really doesn’t bother me since I will be playing only TotK for the rest of my life.
Watched the entire video, hilarious! Occasionally I have seen cheap things like this on store shelves. Now I am happy that I did not purchase. Thanks for the video!
Great article! I tried super monkey ball when it went on sale, and I definitely like Marble it Up better. Like the reviewer states: the sound, the visuals and gameplay all combine to make a great happy game.
Thank you, Nintendo Life, for letting me know about Ultra!
After over a month I started peaking at game media. I am so happy that I went into Zelda relatively blind and enjoyed the first month of media blackout. Over 100 hours and I am playing nothing else. In the past 10 years I have always played multiple games at the same time. Not two of the same genre, but a racing game, a puzzle game, an adventure game. This is the first time that I am putting all my game time into one game.
Good bye! I have managed to avoid most information about TOTK, not watching the game play footage or the last couple trailers.
From here on I am stopping gaming media and going in with as little outside information as possible. I love Nintendo Life, but I will see you in a month or more. Happy gaming!
I am trying to finish Sakuna Rice and Ruin before TOTK. I think I can. Wreckfest is a fun racer, a Little Golf Journey is my chill game and a few matches in Rocket League.
@Olrun Sorry, saw this yesterday, couldn't respond until now.
I am so sorry! I have over 500 hours in my island. While I haven't visited in months, I can't imagine losing it. I am assuming that you did not delete it on purpose. Either way, I wish you well!

Wonder, picked up Portal, Unpacking on sale. WRC, and finally raced the last 3 dlcs of MarioKart.
Happy gaming everyone!

I really like my hori split pro. I play handheld about 10%, and only with the hori. Good stuff!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Still Making Them, So What amiibo Do You Still Want To See?
@Advantage a good choice! I don’t think it’s too obscure. Kass’s quest was about as in depth as one of the champions. I would pay good money for it.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Still Making Them, So What amiibo Do You Still Want To See?
Shantae, of course. Also, what’s the name of the guy from Pushmo?

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Tops Another 'Greatest Games' List
Can we look at the bigger picture?
Nine years ago Nintendo was on the ropes. The future of the company, the future of its creative work was seriously questioned.
Now, we debate which switch game should be the greatest of all time.
I am so happy to be a gamer these past 7.5 years.

Re: Talking Point: What Is Your Video Game Palate Cleanser?
Great article! For me it’s Rocket League, picross, travel mosaics (another nonagram).
Others in the past: part time ufo, townscaper, quell.

But…I have gone back to TotK for a little bit just to walk around. (Or fly). What a game!
Happy gaming everyone!
