@MetalKingShield I loved the Seven Sirens. I liked the addition of cut scenes in this game. The game was fun, and I finished it, but I forget my %. How hard was it to 100%? How many endings are there?
Omno, got it on sale about a week ago and I am loving it! Cool visuals, relatively easy but fun puzzle solving and chill atmosphere. Picked up Plantera, so simple but so addictive. And then a little Rocket League.
After playing the game at launch and then DLC, putting over 300 hours into it: I stopped playing for a couple years. The past few months I have returned to the game to appreciate its awesomeness.
I am having fun walking, riding around with my Korok hat and finding Koroks. The world is a beautiful place to roam, and finding Koroks is a bonus. I now have over 400.
I don't think a glitch would be as cool as finding them, but I doubt I will ever find all of them. That said: it is cool that people find these crazy things in the game!
Yes, it is a great color. I want a switch lite very much, but I just can't justify the purchase: I am perfectly content with my regular old switch. And, all my money goes to new games.
That said, I could see a time in life where I would have more than one switch, and that coral one is very nice!
Thank you so much for this article! It was so well written, I felt like I was there! And the pictures are great. While I doubt I could ever get there to enjoy it myself, I really liked to hear your story!
Okay, I did go back to my island to get this shirt. I had to kill a few roaches in my house, but otherwise the place is the same as I left it. It is a strange feeling going back.
While I have really good memories of such a great game, I also feel no real desire to continue to play. Much like when I went back to check out New Leaf: it was good, but the moment is gone.
I still say that New Horizons and Breath of the Wild are the two best games, period.
I picked up Omno on sale a bit ago: good little 3D platformer. I am slowly finishing the last world on DKTF, that is hard platforming! And for a chill puzzle: playing "lines" which is a super simple but relaxing puzzle game.
Why did you have to bring up themes!?! I probably bought $15 to $20 worth of themes and badges for my 3DS and 2DS. It was such a great way to customize a device that I play daily. Grumble grumble.
@Ciao yes, that game is worth making an account to tell everyone about it. It is one of the very few games that I started up my 3DS to play after getting my switch at launch.
Thanks for the review! Having played and enjoyed the first game, I think I will enjoy this game. That said, with my backlog, I will take the advice and wait for a sale.
Great review: I did not read any of it. I did see the 8, and that was all I needed. I loved Attack of the Friday Monsters, and I don't want any spoilers.
I just returned from a week of tent camping in the mountains, with lots of hikes. So...going back to BotW to simply enjoy the scenery and watch Link climb better than I can. I want to go back to Lonely Mountains Downhill, another game that captures the outdoors so well. And, finally getting to the end of DKTF, this last world is hard!
@blindsquarel I understand what you are saying, but I do think it counts as sandbox. I recently began playing it again just for "fun". My first reason to go back was to find more Koroks, but then I had fun fighting, trying to find something without a map, finding a high place to fly from, etc etc. Like others in this article, it is fun just to roam around.
@thecricket Good point. Usually the most stressful thing about a farm life sim is missing a seasonal item and then having to wait a year. This Quietus is a big unknown. And I wonder how “long” the seasons last in real time.
@Rkulaski Yes! I just got to world 6. Honestly I started out playing Funky, because I heard about the difficulty. But that was too easy, so I went back to start with DK. It is hard, but so satisfying when I clear a level. The visuals, the creative design of the platforming, the music all make it great. I understand why it’s one of your favorites!
Shin chan! I loved Attack of the Friday Monsters! This game looks like it’s got the same vibe. Please tell me there are people here who played and loved Attack of the Friday Monsters?!
@Ryan_Again what you said I don’t remember reading in the review: could I play this game without playing another Xenoblade? I have the first two on my wish list, but lack of time stopped me from getting them.
@Ninfan Well, I did get it on sale a little while ago. I forget if it was 10 or 20% off. Discounted, it is definitely worth it. That said, I paid full price for Kirby Forgotten World, and Tropical Freeze so far has a similar fun factor as Kirby, but different levels of intensity. I am loving Tropical Freeze, and as someone who loves platformers, but rarely plays hard platformers, I like this because it is hard to get through a level, harder to get collectables. So I like that I can manage the difficulty. And most of the levels I played are gorgeous and very well designed. I now see why it received such great reviews. So that's my opinion, obviously you can check reviews and videos. I hope that is helpful!
@MachinHead Are you kidding me? I am getting through it okay, though it's hard and I am having a blast. Some of those collectables are way too hard for me. Good job with your 100%!
I am still progressing through Tropical Freeze. The game is tough but so good! I have given Fall Guys several tries, but I don’t think the game is for me. It is fun but ultimately too random an experience.
This looks good! I am a little burned out with picross, I haven’t got the past few games. I prefer Travel Mosaics: in my opinion a better nonagram game. That said, this looks so different that I would buy it.
So far I liked the few sessions that I have played. I completely understand the draw of this game. As someone who loves platforming, I like the concept. But time will tell if the game play is enough to bring me back again and again.
I put this on my wish list, but if it’s anything like the first Redout, it won’t go on sale for much of a discount. I don’t like to say that, I want to support people making games, but I only have so much time and money.
When you spend on average an hour or more each day playing your switch for more than five years, it becomes a part of you. It fosters creativity: Mario Maker, ACNH, competition: Rocket League, community: BOTW (oddly a single player game was the biggest conversation with my coworkers)
I did not get this at launch because of the reviews about technical issues. Well, I think I will put this on my wish list. It does look absolutely stunning.
Tropical Freeze. What a game! I am glad that the recent sale made me buy it. I now understand the accolades for that game.
After playing about 20 hours of Hot Wheels Unleashed, I have gone back to other racing games. Which is best? Grid, Need for Speed, Paradise City, Rush Rally 3? I guess I like them all in different ways.
@CharlieGirl how was the first game? Its been on my wish list forever, but I think the price is too high. I may get it on sale but already have Fast RMX and other racing games I like. Is Redout worth it--on sale?
As a musician with a small home studio: I would absolutely love this. But, from a practical business viewpoint, I cannot envision enough switch users buying this hardware.
Many of these games gave me hours and hours of enjoyment. Captain toad, Gardens Between and Lumines etc. One I would add is the Quell games. They are nice to look at, peaceful, with a gradual learning curve.
@SteamEngenius I was just thinking the same thing. And a different story could be told of the crazy ways preinternet that we solved puzzles and beat bosses.
Oh, brothers! I didn’t like the game. It was alright, my daughter and I played to the end. The video documentary at the end was interesting. But overall I just couldn’t get into the story of the game. And the ending: talk about sad. Okay, now I want to throw a controller…..
Okay, I’ve played Everspace and Starlink, enjoyed both of them. But I am surprised by the inclusion of Inner Space. I remember wanting this game but passing it because of the Nintendo life review:6/10. Rereading the review, I have to wonder why it is included in this list?
@UsurperKing thank you! I figured as much, but the amount of time they work on this is incredible. But I guess it’s all relative: some people think the hour or more I play every day is a lot.
Okay forgive my ignorance; how do these people support themselves? I respect the dedication and skills, but where do they find the time? Is there money to made in doing this? And do they play other games?
I recently finished Arise: a simple story. Great game where the protagonist is older. I love the controls of the character. He does not move fast and when he falls down, it takes him a moment to get up.

@noz901 Cool, I will check it out! Thanks!
Re: Mini Review: Lost In Play - A Fantastic Adventure Game That Cleverly Sidesteps Genre Pitfalls
@N64-ROX Seriously? You played a lot of point and clicks? I have played about four or five and I gave up on them mainly because of pixel hunting.
But, I want to like them: some of them have great artwork, story lines, etc. But after an hour or two or ten, I get tired of the game play.
Do you have any recommendations for point and clicks that are really great, or different from the rest?
