That's a pretty good price for Hyper Light Drifter.
I'd love to play Hyper Light Drifter, but I supported the Kickstarter and they never provided copies on other systems to people who pledged for a Wii U copy, so $&@# if I'm giving them any more money.
Hyper drifter looks to cheap made for me. Graphics are worse than on a new. Might try Cursed Castilla though
Hyper Light Drifter has been on my radar....Hmm.... 🤔 I was able to withstand the Final Fantasy sale as those come around every now and again, but this....
Hyperlight Drifter is a game I've heard so much hype about but never bit due to price, backlog, or some other reason, but at 50% off and under $10, I think it's finally time.
Bought Hyperlight Drifter on ipad in the week for 99p so I’ll pass
@PanurgeJr
Here’s what I found on that:
“Instead of spending months and months on these versions, he said, Heart Machine is throwing in the towel. The team is offering to refund backers who requested the Wii U or Vita versions of Hyper Light Drifter on Kickstarter. Alternatively, they can elect to get the game on another platform instead; those would be Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, where it’s already available.“
So, they didn’t keep this promise?? That sucks, if true.
@Murbs NOT a game I would want to play on an IPad.
@Indielink ps4 controller compatible
@Tyranexx Nice pic
I've been eyeing hyper light drifter but I've bought so many games lately, I'm not sure when I'd get to play it. But since I'm pretty weak when it comes to a good price.
@imgrowinglegs @panurgejr I never had any trouble getting a PS4 code following the Wii U cancellation
@Symbiote_C Thanks! Same about yours.
@ResidentSteve @imgrowinglegs At the time of the cancelation I didn't have another system that the game was coming to, so I will admit that I didn't pay much attention to how to change platforms, not that it would have done me any good if I had. But when they announced for the Switch I reached out on Twitter and was met with silence, have been every time I try, and, to judge from comments on the Kickstarter page, am not alone. I backed a number of other games for the Wii U that canceled for that system but came to the Switch (or are still in development for it)--Earthlock, Hollow Knight, Nefarious, Sneaky Ninja--and all of them not only gave me Switch copies, they had proactively reached out to their Kickstarter backers and offered them, rather than waiting for requests. Hyper Light Drifter is the only game not to make that option available.
Yeah, I've had Hyper Light Drifter on my radar for a hot minute now, but my backlog was usually too thick to even consider it.
But I just scratched a couple games off my list and was looking for something new, so the timing couldn't be better. I'll go ahead and take the dive.
Sorry, 3rd play through of Three Houses... Not today...
edit: Aaaaand, I beat it already. Great gameplay, loved the atmosphere, still working on 100% completion. Highly recommended, but not quite a "must play"
$9.99 was my trigger price for Hyper Light Drifter, so I also went ahead and bought it.
so 1 game wen from 2.49 to 4.99 that's messed up.
Everyone should play Hyper Light. If you haven't, GET IT.
Hyper Light Drifter is amazing, great soundtrack and combat system. Great cyberpunk atmosphere and storytelling through absolutely 0 text. Highly recommended for its original price, a no brainer for $10. Unless you dislike difficult games.
Super popular topic: any word on the (pending) Physical version? Willing to pay probably 4x this sale price for it; Super Rare, Limited Run, Special Reserve.? Someone...take my money?
By the time I saw this article, it was to late. Hyper Light Drifter went back up to full price.
I will probably get HLD.
I am actually curious about Qbics Paint. I did go and read the NL review. Anyone play that one?
Hyper Light Drifter at $10 sounds VERY tempting.
@BenAV although I have seen it cheaper an all other platforms it is released on.
@PanurgeJr I've seen a few making of videos in which the devs look like entitled, smug hipsters. I'm guessing they spent your cash on weed. The game is quite good though. Thanks for paying for it's development.
aaaaaah I've missed Hyper Light Drifter. Or was it just on sale for the US ? What about the euro store ?
@Bobobiwan @Robo-Knight Same. I am in the US and checked during lunch. No longer on sale.
I think this has happened to me before. The “Sale ends” date confuses me. Does it end at the end of the day or does it end at the start of the day?
Oh, well. I’ll catch them next time.
I found Cursed Castilla a very good game, however it was so difficult for me to play for some reason.
Is it just me or is this game really difficult?? I would gladly invest more time in it, but I want to know. Btw I played it on the 3DS and seasoned gamer here.
Or maybe I just might be getting older.
@MarcusIsCool
Nope it's pretty difficult. And I'm a Super ghouls and ghosts veteran
@Tandy255 I've gotten caught before by sales not being available on what I thought was the last day they would be, so I sympathize. I believe the eShop updates at noon Eastern/9 Pacific; I know a couple of times I've had to wait until then to download games on the day they've launched, so I think it's the general rule. It wouldn't surprise me if that is the time that sales end, as well.
Hyperlight Drifter use to be super cool in the early indie days, but with all the recent indies e.g. Children of Morta I feel it is not a must have recommendation now
