First impressions?
The video looks awful
Does the physical have a day one download?
@jarvismp Looks ace to me!
I originally played it on a PS3 with analog triggers, and felt that was a big part of the experience, having a variable throttle. Anyone have any feedback on how it plays with Nintendo's digital triggers?
And you mean to say you haven’t done an extensive review yet NL?
@kepsux I’ll be playing this with my WaveBird!! Still the king!
@jarvismp yep the video is a pixelated mess on my phone. The game will look much better ... I hope
Can you skip the tutorial?!
I played the X360 edition to death, then when it got added to XBone Backwards Compatibility, I popped the game in there, and had to drudge through the awful, lengthy tutorial gubbins from the start, all over again, and it was terrible...
I'm not doing that again.
I love the game, but I am NOT doing that again..
For people wondering about how it plays and looks

Looks fine and runs solid
@Jayenkai remaster on PS4 and Xbox One didn't have skip tutorial so I doubt Switch has that option.
Blurry in a docked mode, no split-screen, and too overpriced. I will wait for a decent discount or Dangerous Driving 2, whichever will happen first.
@oji the original looked blurry to begin with, it has some over-agressive motion blur which you could only turn off on PC.
And the OG game never had any form of split screen, only online multiplayer.
I do agree about the price, but even on PS4 and Xbox One the remaster was launched at 40 euro which is too much of the good, I see the price on Switch fall down as quickly in the end.
I downloaded it, looks great in handheld mode, silky smooth 60fps. But I only had time to play it for half an hour before work. The price was painful, especially as I own it on PS4. But Burnout is my favourite game series so it was impossible to not double dip.
Nice! The question now is: Grid Autosport or this one??
Had it on ps3, loved it. Upgraded to ps4 and really enjoyed playing it again. Recommended for anyone who hasn't played it. I've got £50 set aside for gaming purchases this weekend, but unless it rhymes with "The Blast of us Part 2" it won't be high on my list of priorities.
I really didn't enjoy NFS Most Wanted on Wii U because of its open world racing. I found it boring and lacking focus, which was a shame as I'd been really looking forward to it. This seems to be same.
I'll wait for sales. Can't bring myself to pay full price for a game I already have on other consoles. Still I wouldn't mind being able to play this on the go.
@nmanifold how is it without analog triggers? Can the triggers be reconfigured to use the thumbsticks ?
Downloading as we speak.
@the_beaver they're pretty different. This here is a purely arcade open-worlder, Grid Autosport is more simulator-flavoured and its career mode is strictly races themselves, with designated cars depending on the discipline, event and team you pick for each "season".
I couldn’t resist, played this game when it was launched originally and loved it. Very expensive but I’m really glad this content exists and am willing to show that with my wallet
@GrailUK nope - whole game on cart and no day 1 patch looks as crisp as the xbox one s version <3 - love that game - finally on switch
I own the original with all DLC on PS3 and 360, and remastered already on Xbox One X.
It's a great port, and the game itself have alot to do.
It's worth the price. The only problem is that it costs most on Switch.
@jaymacx that game never needed analog controls - you always have to drive at max speed hahaha.
even on xbox 360 or one i ALWAYS drove full speed - no need to press the trigger gently in that game - pure arcade racer
@eRaz0r thanks for the speedy reply
I'll certainly buy it as I like the genre and it's something that is lacking on the Switch at the moment.
However, I'll wait for a discount. If it was released with the other platforms at the same time I'd pay this price but after all this time I refuse to pay the full amount.
No doubt this is expensive but it seems like a good port, this is a great arcade racer to have on the Switch...
@jaymacx Sorry no doesn't look like you can change any of the controls (bar the Y axis to look). I havent played it long enough to miss analogue sticks, but in an arcade racer like this doubt it's a problem, it's not a game that needs finesse.
It's a little pricey but man is it a stellar port....get it? The dev you know
But really, it plays so well and i'm glad to finally have another one of my "perfect for Switch" games ported to it
As much as I wanted this I couldn't resist the £8 to get it on PS4
Can anyone confirm if it allows motion controls (or labo controls)?? And if it does, how good are they?? Is the driving the same as most wanted for wii u??
I'll just pick up the physical copy used in two months. The 60fps gameplay feels very smooth and the 720p graphic visuals doesn't seem too bothersome and if they are I got the mClassic to help me boost that up a bit.
Has the music been changed?
Half the reason I loved that game was the music.
@StevenG nope, same soundtrack
@StevenG Same music it always had according to a video I watched last night. Killer soundtrack.
I'm going to be looking for this if we go shopping today.
I'm waiting to hear how sharp it looks in handheld mode before buying.
@jarvismp agree its all ready overpriced and if this is the best it is then count me out. disapointed as love the game
@eRaz0r Right, I just ordered. THANK YOU SIR! (I have no love for EA, but if they are going to start doing things properly...then I don't burn bridges.)
I know lots are complaining about the price and, well, $50 is steep. That being said, it does seem like they're listening. It's a full Switch port, 60fps, all included DLC and no microtransactions shenanigans. Seems like the arcade racer I was waiting for on the Switch. I don't like the price tag, but do think it's worth it given how much I like the genre. If this is not a genre you particularly love, seems like a wait-till-discount proposition.
I know it's expensive. I know it's difficult to have faith in EA. But if they do start behaving, yet we all wait for their games to be a couple of quid down at CEX, I can't see where their incentive is to keep us happy. It's a two way street I'm afraid. And I love Burnout, so I'll happily walk it this time ^^
Part of me wants to give this a go as it's been quite a while since I've jumped into a racer.
But I read there is no vehicle customization which is usually the best part of a racing game( for me at least). Amazon u.s. has it at 42 bucks. I'm close to ordering It, but I think ill have some stuff given to me on father's day. I know for a fact it won't be this game, but I also don't know how much or what else I will be getting.
Definitely picking this one up! ... when it's $20, or less.
Just arrived in post. All on cart and got it for £30. People moan at prices but if you are savvy and the remaster was similar price when it was released on other consoles. You can’t expect day one to be the sale prices on others. Can’t wait to play
@the_beaver Grid all the way. Fantastic game and much cheaper.
Well it looks like they did a quality port so that's plus. For those complaining about the price....just wait a short while. All 3rd party games on physical at retail get discounted quickly and steeply in the USA. Seriously I doubt I have ever paid full price for an EA or UBI or 2K game unless I bough it on launch day (which I rarely do as I have so many games in cue to play at any given time). I guarantee this cart will be on sale come black Friday for $20.
@Jayenkai I'm pretty sure the extent of the tutorial is 'press RT to accelerate, press LT and RT to start an event, go forth and prosper'
@kepsux played Most Wanted U on the WiiU, which is basically the spiritual successor of BP. I believe it played absolutely nice. I really thought this would be a bigger issue as I also had BP on the PS3 and really liked that game. But if you don't keep thinking about how big of an issue this is, it might not have such an impact.
I still think Nintendo should just do analogue triggers at some point, as it can just really add something. But I sorta get why they aren't doing it and I can live with it. It definitely doesn't break the game, especially if you don't know the analogue version.
@MaxiPareja It was that stupid announcer at the start of every new type of race. Did my head in!
"This is a race. In the race, the first past the post is the winner. Drive fast and race well and you'll be the winner of the race. Race race race race drive.."
"This is a long distance race. Find shortcuts and race to get to the race place. Can you drive? Drive and race driving, with speed and race and drive and drive."
"This is a crash. Crash crash crash smash. But race. And race and smash and crash. . Crash smash. Race!"
And on, and on, and on..
@Jayenkai Ah! Now I remember exactly what you mean. Completely unskippable and very jarring compared to the speediness of the rest of it.
