The release schedule drops off around March, even for major third party titles. I'm guessing Nintendo has some big presentation planned in the next 3 months or something.
@Spider-Kev It does, but it doesn't have a CPU or GPU in it. The hardware you'll find in it is NOT going to contribute to heat nearly as much as the Switch 2 itself.
I've had my Switch 2 heat up a few times, but it wasn't when I was playing Cyberpunk, but more like an occasional occurrence after sleep mode. I've had weird issues where the dock wouldn't export video to the TV until I unplugged the docking station for a few minutes, and the Joycons didn't charge whole connected, but luckily everything I've experienced seems to be software related and have been fixed.
@Bustacap Why would it be there to cool the dock? The dock itself doesn't contain anything that should be heating up significantly. It's essentially a custom docking station with an external power supply.
It's fine. I ordered the OLED because the dark areas in games like Skyrim were impossible to see on the standard screen and the Switch 2 hasn't had the same problem.
In my household, we went through 3 pro controllers because of stick drift and other durability issues. I've replaced the analog stick on one of them, but it was a hassle. I thought it was a common complaint
The pro controller for the Switch 2 does feel a lot better overall, and I'm hoping for better durability
@gwyntendo That's fairly healthy for the battery. The issue they are trying to avoid is if you leave it plugged in for long periods of time. My wife left hers plugged in for more than a year and it started to swell. I had to replace it before it exploded.
@darkswabber I imagine it is using whatever technology Nintendo patented.
They did say that the new sticks would be more durable, but the whole Switch 2 announcement was low on specifics, and that's not doing them any favors.
Nintendo has patented their own stick sensors, so they might be using that technology instead. Id like them to at least confirm that the sticks are indeed a different kind of sensor technology.
Similar words came from the head of Silicon Knights when they were working as a second party developer for Nintendo, making Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. And then when they were released to make what they wanted, what happened? They made Too Human and X-Men Destiny.
Sometimes you need to understand that criticism and direction from outside parties shows that they are interested and that they care.
Oh yeah, I used to live in Toronto and met one of these guys. He wanted to talk to me about job prospects with Nintendo of Canada, but these are mostly all marketing type jobs, work that I'm not cut out for. Still, good luck to anyone that can get these jobs.
I wanted custom colored lighting for the buttons that were reflected in the OS. Make the face buttons whatever color you want, then have the games show the same color when the prompts come up. It makes it easier when you switch from one console to the other.
I have it on PC, and while it could run ok on Switch, I'd say the real stand out graphical features are its implementation of RTX. Without it, it does appear a bit bland, even on a powerful computer.
@Arawn93 I understand that it's not the same circumstances, but Take Two and Rockstar both signed off on that terrible remaster, so I'm going to need to see some reviews for it first
@RasandeRose they said they were working on the Switch port for 2 years.
That being said, I want to see how it actually runs before I get it. Looking forward to it, but this wouldn't be the first time I've been promised the world on the Switch.
Maaan, I was looking forward to this on Switch. I have it on PC, but I love playing FPS games portable. If you like FPS games at all, this should be on your radar.
I ordered a copy of the original on GameCube earlier this year. I'd love to play a version with some specific fixes. I want to sit on the side of the road and sell vegetables. It's a weird urge.
I played the games when they came out on PC and Xbox 360, but these were a great price for the Switch so I bought this collection. Definitely worth it.
A relatively sparse world for an open world Sonic game isn't a problem for me. Sonic is supposed to run fast, and I wouldn't want to feel like I'm supposed to stop every ten seconds to pick up something.
@Snatcher My wife liked the DLC for Animal Crossing. I may eventually play it too, but I mostly wanted to play some N64 games on my Switch. Its... fine. But not really worth the extra money.
Finally, the N64 was released at a time where there were a bunch of different ideas that people had on how to make 3D games work with hardware. The methods employed with the N64 ended up being a dead end, much like the Sega Saturn. Neither console is particularly easy to emulate because of this.
@Snatcher What emulators play all N64 games perfectly? I've been messing with them recently, and most of them don't actually play all games perfectly. Most of the time you can't leave Link's house in Ocarina of Time without immediately running into a graphical glitch.
As for Nintendo's previous virtual console releases, they bundled each rom with a tailored emulator. This meant that they could include a completely different emulator for each game, depending on what works better. A general purpose emulator for N64 games that plays everything perfectly doesn't exist on PC, let alone console.
Didn't Nintendonhave success with the extra colors for the n64 and Gameboy hardware shortly before the GameCube released? I had a black GameCube, but the purple was a nice color too.

@Vriess Switch cards get pretty large. It's not that they wouldn't fit, it's that Bethesda doesn't want to pay for the larger card sizes.

@mr12calvin Sounds like you might have a bad Micro SD card. A bad one can continuously slow down and would explain a lot of the issues you are having.
