@JaxonH it's weird, the game looks bad and runs bad, especially in handheld mode, but it doesn't play bad. Then again, I enjoy survival games once in a while and this is interesting to me.
Honestly, they're probably tanking the framerate by trying too hard to have detailed reflections in the water. They would get better performance if they scaled that back significantly.
Pokemon and Spintires Mudrunner with my son, Warframe and maybe even some Ark by myself. Ark may be pretty junky, but I still feel a little compelled to get further.
I picked it up. It might get interesting, but until then you are dealing with a bad resolution and frame rate. This was after a sizeable update already too.
If you're interested, do yourself a favor and wait and see if it gets fixed.
@goggles789 I found Crashlands to be one of the better pieces of phone shovelware. It has more going on for it than a lot of mobile games, but it still has a really obvious and repetitive gameplay loop that wasnt interesting for very long.
@AxeltheBuizel depends on what you're looking for. Next month will kill my wallet, with Diablo 3, Civilization 6, Ark Survival Evolved, Katamari Damacy, Pokemon and Spintires Mudrunner coming out all the same month.
@kobashi100 The original game runs at full 4K on my laptop with no slowdown. I'm sure the Switch will handle it fine. It's mostly CPU driven, it seems.
My son is beyond excited to play this on the Switch. He asks me of it's out yet every week.
@KryptoniteKrunch It could just be that the developers aren't sure if they want to put the effort into porting it. Or it could be that the engines the games run on would take too much work to get it running on the Switch
@Al_Godoy Katamari Damacy is from an era in game console releases when developers were still taking chances in physical releases. The game is bizarre and doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, but was a lot of fun and had an amazing soundtrack. My wife used a few for our wedding.
Season 1 was amazing. I felt Season 2 turned into something of a slog near the end, and I had no interest in Season 3. I think i am content with the series as it is in my own head.
I'm expecting some Mario Party stuff, and at least 1 major third party announcement and 1 first party announcement (possibly a lower tier game franchise).
They definitely need to release more information. I don't care about what games are free much, since it'll be a fraction of the price of Xbox Live or PS Plus. I want to know if the online services are going to be improved and other features.
Hollow Knight is awesome, and this is from someone generally bored with 2D platforming in general. I'll be playing that, likely Prison Architect and maybe Dead Cells.
He said it would be boring to work on, not to play. Understandable, because MMOs either fail after a year, or go on for a decade. As a developer, if you are bored easily, I can imagine it could turn into a nightmare.
Oh man, Second Sight was really good. Timesplitters may be a little less impressive with all the FPS games out there, but there's still nothing like Second Sight.
@Alucard83 the Switch uses 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, where 3.5 GB are available for games. The Xbox One by comparison uses 8 GB of older DDR3 RAM, but reserves much more for the OS. About 5.5 GB is available for games to use.
@IPrino Doom Eternal is running on a proprietary engine, so upgrades to UE4 won't directly impact it, but it does prove that there's more performance to be had on the Switch.
@luke88 they could buy Panic Button to ensure they have a team they can contract out for porting projects. The purpose of buying the company would be so they don't cut ties with Nintendo, and to give them more resources.
I just got a wireless Logitech H800 headset for $45 refurbished from Amazon. Haven't tried the voice chat yet, but it's a good wireless headset to use with a docked Switch.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Rules Out A Modern Port Of Kid Icarus: Uprising
I beat Uprising, and the only reason I stopped playing was because of horrible cramps. I'm left handed and the game is not designed for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 8th)
Smash, Katamari Damacy and Warframe.
Re: Japanese Charts: Pokémon: Let's Go Still Number One For Third Week, Switch Sales Rise Again
@IceClimbers That's what I was thinking too.
Re: Japanese Charts: Pokémon: Let's Go Still Number One For Third Week, Switch Sales Rise Again
Oh, the questions I would ask those 25 Japanese Xbox One purchasers....

Re: Gallery: Bandai Namco's Super Robot Wars T Just Received Lots Of Lovely Screenshots
I still don't understand why Cowboy Bebop is in there, but I do appreciate it.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry’s Technical Analysis Of Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee
This isn't a game that I really wanted a technical breakdown on. It's easy on the eyes, but not a technical marvel.
Re: Sega Mega Drive Classics Hits Switch On 6th December, Physical And Digital Versions On The Way
@AlexSora89 yeah, and the fact that it will be portable on the Switch is all the sweeter.

Re: Nintendo Files Patent For Game Boy Case Compatible With Touch Screen Devices
My only problem is that I typically get phones that are never very popular and I would worry this won't fit my phone. If it does, I'm all for it.
Re: Bandai Namco Brazil Will Distribute Free Super Butoden eShop Codes, If Newsletter Reaches 10,000 Subs

Re: Wasteland 2: Director's Cut - A Less-Than-Perfect Port Of A Turn-Based Tactical Classic
This is one of those times that a flawed game (or port) grips me more than a polished, bland popular game. I already bought it and don't regret it.
Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey Is Coming To Nintendo Switch, But There's A Catch

Re: Hollow Knight Godmaster DLC Is Now Available For Free, Game Also On Sale For The First Time
@Krull it's rock solid top to bottom. I've mostly sworn off 2D platformers but Hollow Knight really captivated me.

It's not quite a gulf as you might think.
Re: Tomb Raider Won’t Be Making The Switch Anytime Soon, According To Eidos Montreal
I don't know about the new one, but Rise of the Tomb Raider was pretty nice. I don't see how any of the games couldn't be ported to the Switch.
