@TossedLlama Exactly what I was thinking. Fans did the legwork for translating Mother 3, and that game still didn't get an official english translation. SE is not going to change their minds about not localizing it, if anything, they would send a cease-and-desist letter to these people. Look what happened to the fan project "chrono trigger flames of eternity."
Not getting these games, as I am working on the games I already have, and older games I haven't gotten yet. Just wanted to throw out how good Master Reboot is. My only caveat is that the game plays in first-person, with some platforming parts to it, and those give me motion sickness really easily.
I wonder why it took so long. If it was for legal reasons, then Nintendo just proved they don't care to look for those kind of things in 3rd party, indie titles. If it's for quality control, they will have egg on their face until they remove all the obvious shovelware from the eshop.
@SurferClock I had an outburst reading that. The graphic from Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. clearly shows him using his fists. I also facepalmed with the Brooklyn thing. Seriously? This must be why it spread as far as it did.
@dariusq I think it's because Nintendo's system lacks everything else Sony's and Microsoft's systems has, that it stands alone. These results pretty much tell us what we already knew.
@Fletcher-Mobot Why would you want to be associated with something that was intentionally designed to be malicious? SPIKEY WALLS was made because cheap shovelware was getting 'da monies and attention on miiverse, and made with no heart, and yet you want to associate your product with that!?
I think this article proves that Nintendo couldn't get new customers, so they had to milk the existing consumer base to drive up profits. Expect to see more of this in the future until Nintendo figures out how to get new blood in.
@Porky A tad, yes. The top-right creature definitely looks like a plant-based Diancie. The color choices and design for the bottom creature is extremely close to Pikachu/Sylveon.
I love the artstyle, and the trailer on the eShop practically sold it to my sister, but the gameplay aspect has not hooked me at all. I'll probably wait on it until it strikes my fancy.
If whoever posted this wanted a true and better "Mario comparison to something" that actually hits upon something Nintendo-related, they should have gone with Seanbaby's article on cracked.com using Super Mario Bros. to explain World of Warcraft. Not only is it really funny, it's also topical (if old, but still a better choice).
I think we're getting really close to a unified OS, possibly open one. And that the handheld device would have more connectivity with the console. We will see cross-buy with the MvsDK game, Smash 4 using the handheld as a controller, and cross-saves with MH3U.
I think we're getting really close to a unified OS, possibly open one. And that the handheld device would have more connectivity with the console. We will see cross-buy with the MvsDK game, Smash 4 using the handheld as a controller, and cross-saves with MH3U.
I'm one of the few people that would want a Luigi's Mansion soundtrack, huh? Not only is it the bigger longshot of the group, I loved almost all the songs in that game, which I can't say for the other options.
I went ahead and got the game on release, just to give a clone a chance. It is quite repetitive alright, with none of the charm of Minecraft. But it certainly is nice for several minutes at a time. If anything, these devs can afford to be cheap with these clones because the real deal is not coming to dethrone them.
Well, I already have Battleminer, so i'm not in a rush to get another clone, but i'll see just how close it gets. Battleminer, despite looking like and playing like Minecraft, is no Minecraft at all, but the combat was fun.
I just want the company to market itself more. When I learned that one of my coworkers loved Mario Kart, and I mentioned to her that Mario Kart 8 released this summer, she yelled, "What?! When?!" I told her it was for Wii U, and she stared at me blankly. This should not happen, not everyone follows the Nintendo news pipelines. They need to take their console seriously and actually market the freaking thing.
Nothing for me this week, I just got into Fantasy Life anyway. I am interested in some stuff, just got to save my money, last month was a killer to my wallet.
Gave up on the adaptor, and got a wired fight pad instead. No wave 2 amiibos in stores at all. I was only able to get my Zelda amiibo from my pre-order months in advance.
I already got Battleminer, which won the race of the clones, so it needs to be better than that to get my purchase. It's got to be more than just extra customization options, whatever those would be.
I don't know, this story seems fishy. Why one person get an email? Why not an official confirmation of this to everyone? Not that I don't believe the amiibos are going to be reissued, but it just seems weird.
I like this graphic, but I don't think it will do much convincing to people who don't already like Nintendo a lot. I think that's where Nintendo has faltered the most in regards to the Wii U: only the die-hard fans of the company really wanted it. This graphic plays into that mindset. Also, not owning a Wii U just pushers you into buying it, without knowing anything else? It should have been in reverse, where the less you know, the further it takes you.
I'll just say this: when a sibling expressed interest in getting a Wii U a while back, I discouraged her from doing so. Now, I would say "only if you want a few games or so." The system needs more than platformers. I know it has more, but right now, it's over-saturated with platformers.
Wow, this video looks pretty low-grade. I like how the mining just makes the block disappear, no effects. Also, I was hoping the gun-play would look more like Doom, with the gun right in the lower-middle part of the screen. Actually, the graphics and gameplay might be going for minecraft/COD. I'll look into it or get it as it looks crazy enough for me.
The good news is that this makes me hopeful I can jump into Wii U development and make something 5x better with more effort and time involved, even with NWF.
Tappingo 2. Loved the first game, actually almost lost my job over that game, that's how addicting it was. Also got the Bit Boy Arcade demo. Good week for me.
I already picked up the Mario Kart 8 DLC, so i'll just grab Super street Fighter 2. This might be the first time i've seen the "Nothing for me this week" category lower than another category in a long while.

Re: Nintendo Announces Fresh Release Details on a Host of Exciting eShop Games
I just see one first-party game and a bunch of indies. What's so exciting about that?

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th February (North America)
I wondered why I had the sudden impulse to buy the Diddy Kong amiibo this morning, and this may be why.
Re: Feature: A Celebration of HAL Laboratory - Forever Focused on Fun
@EvisceratorX Sounds like something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Flirtation With Microtransactions May Step Up in 2015
I draw the line at DLC. I even buy "on-disc" DLC. But not microtransactions.

Re: Key WayForward Director is Bringing His Solo Project to Wii U
I kind of hope it won't be a side-scroller, there are too many of those already. But it seems like the safest bet to make on the Wii U.
Re: Capcom Offers 5 Beginner Tips On How To Become A Better Monster Hunter
Played the demo and hated it. I never cursed more at a game than this. I was hoping it would be more like Phantasy Star Online.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D Download Size Is Surprisingly Dainty
@wizzgamer That convenience is all I need, and I don't sell games anyway.

Gave up on the adaptor, and got a wired fight pad instead. No wave 2 amiibos in stores at all. I was only able to get my Zelda amiibo from my pre-order months in advance.
Re: Plenty of Fishies Swimming onto Wii U this Week
This sounds like Evofish. Hopefully it turns out better just by nature of having more stuff to do.

Nothing for me this week, but that's fine. i have quite the backlog. Captain Toad does not really interest me, I may get it if it goes on sale.

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th November (North America)
I'm interested in Battleminer, will want to see how the first Minecraft clone came out.
Re: Wii U eShop Title Meme Run Seals Approval To Release This December
I think this is the Desert Bus of the Wii U.
Re: Feature: The Wii U is Two Years Old, But How's it Doing?

Re: Interview: Curve Studios on the Unique Charm of Thomas Was Alone
None of those games interest me.
Re: Poll: Who'll Be Your Main amiibo Buddy?
@Kirk Given that the Wii U's gamepad still hasn't been fully realized, I don't think Nintendo will until a year or two later.

Re: Ultimate NES Remix
Looks like the release date is an error. It comes out Dec. 5th, not Nov. 5th.
Re: Review: Woah Dave! (3DS eShop)
Looks chaotic and fun from the video. I'll add it to my wishlist and get it when i'm not already swamped in games I want to play.
Also, Woah.
Re: Electronic Super Joy: Groove City Bringing Mayhem To The Wii U eShop
The music is quite catchy, and the game seems reminiscent of Kung Fu Rabbit, which I liked. I'll look into it when it comes out.
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th October (North America)
I loved Castlevania Circle of the Moon. Definitely getting that game, and the Bayo 2 demo.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Details on the Third Week of its Super Smashing Sale on the NA eShop
Pokemon Battle Trozei is actually pretty good. Very hectic, and it's a change of pace from Bejeweled/Candy Crush/etc.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Week Two Details for Super Smashing eShop Sale
Minish Cap, the Oracle games, Mega Man 1 & 2, and F-ZERO. Nice haul, and it corresponded well with the eShop card sale Target has going on now.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th September (North America)
Just bought a whole lot of games from the Smash sale. Awesome week for that reason alone.
Re: SPIKEY WALLS is Flapping Its Way Onto the eShop on 18th September
I'll just say this: i'm glad you got a new music composer for this game, and that the song sounds longer than 20 seconds before it loops.
Re: Nintendo Download: 4th September (North America)
Tappingo 2. Loved the first game, actually almost lost my job over that game, that's how addicting it was. Also got the Bit Boy Arcade demo. Good week for me.
Re: Square Enix Wants To Bring Dragon Quest VII To The West, But Doesn't Know If You'll Bite
After reading about this, it just sounds like Square Enix wants NOA to step in and do it for them, again. That's how Bravely Default went, after all.
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th August (North America)
I already picked up the Mario Kart 8 DLC, so i'll just grab Super street Fighter 2. This might be the first time i've seen the "Nothing for me this week" category lower than another category in a long while.
