Re: Nintendo Confirms its DLC Plans for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

@Peach64 this is something Atlus started doing, that I know of, since SMT IV. I believe it's just another revenue stream for Atlus that the hardcore gamers don't need or are expected to buy, but opens up the game to even people that are not good at RPGs at all. I think it's fine as an optional add-on.

Re: Disney Infinity Has Been Cancelled

I don't think Nintendo will feel the crunch of the fading toys-to-life model, since they aren't embracing it as much. But they have resorted to pallete-swaps, so I don't really know. If anything, Nintendo making them artificially short on supply is saving it.

It's too bad Infinity is on ice, since I had fun playing it with my sister and niece. The toybox had potential, but I felt it was hampered by either the tech, or a rushed development. It certainly had a different feel compared to LEGO Dimensions, which i'm currently playing. I guess in a few years getting the figures will be much easier and cheaper to get.

Re: Video: Re-Live your School Years with these Five Nintendo Lies We All Believed

@theberrage I didn't believe the whole playing as Samus without armor in the original Metroid until I finally got online for the first time. The internet unlocked a lot of mysteries for me, including some I wished I haven't seen...

My favorites wete the Pokemon ones. Tbey had some kernal of truth to them to seem realistic enough. And the glitches the game had that were easily exploitable made the game world seem on the brink of collapse. Those glitches were canon to me, where messing with the delicate order of the world and Pokemon would break the world, Lovecraft-like.

Re: Super Meat Boy Arrives on the Wii U eShop on 12th May

What's funny, is that when the Wii and DS servers for online services was going to ho down, I swooped in Warioware DIY Showcase to download as many of the special microgames as I could (I only had 40 minutes to do it). McMillan made a microgame for Super Meat Boy, commerating his release on WiiWare. Of course, it never happened, and I joked it's the closest Nintendo will get to the game.

Good to see it's finally happening. For all those who say, "too late," may I point you to Minecraft Wii U Edition? Still sold lime hotcakes to stay at the top of the charts for seclveral months. I know people begged for Minecraft all the time on Miiverse, but it shows that as long as there's interest, people will buy these late games. There just needs to be more announcements about them.

Re: Nintendo Wants Mobile to be a "Pillar of Profit"

@kobashi100 if more games supported a bluetooth controller, touch-only controls wouldn't be a problem. And Mario Kart can be done with both motion and touch if they really want to, though as you alluded, some genres don't work with just touch-controls. If anyone is crazy enough to thrown a bluetooth controller to the mobe ring, it's Nintendo.

About pricing, people are buying into cheap games just cuz of the allure. When the marketplace is flooded with games that are just $1 or free, of course the bigger, more expensive games will get overlooked. I have no doubt Nintendo is aware of that, and why there was that one article here with Iwata telling devs not to price games at $1 or under on the eshop (but of course, some do). This is why no one takes mobile games seriously, more than lack of buttons. And it can be beaten with a change of perception. I almost think Nintendo can make their own mobile eshop, like Steam, and start curating their stuff better. They have a brand prescence to do it. Or they can market themselves more online to push the bigger, more expensive games on mobile if they're pushing more towards it. Buy ads, get the word out, anything. It doesn't have to be small potatoes.

Re: Review: Pinball Arcade (Wii U eShop)

argh4430

@Cakes definitely. Some of the boards in tbe Pinball Arcade are pretty primitive, and makes ZP2 look amazing in comparison. But Pinball Arcade also has lots of cool board configurations that ZP2 doesn't, which is the meat of any pinball game, and there's something cool about playing emulations of the real things. Since I live in a place that doesn't have any pinball tables anymore, this is the closest i'll get.

Re: Nintendo Wants Mobile to be a "Pillar of Profit"

I started getting into mobile games lately. Not all of them try to suck you dry! I believe Nintendo can still make great mobile games that can rival the games on traditional hardware. The only thing holding it back is the stigma on mobile games, which is just unfair.

Re: Campaign Seeks to Spin the Tale Behind EarthBound Beginnings

argh4430

None of the projects i've funded on kickstarter has come into frution yet, goals met or not, so i'm a little wary of going for it. However, I think something like this is awesome, and far more likely to come out, since most of the story is already known, it's all about presenting it. I'll set aside some money, not as much as I usually do, and cheer them on.

Re: Review: U Host (Wii U eShop)

argh4430

@fortius54 that's what I thought too, with a little "Whose Line Is It Anyway" thrown in for good measure.

It's too bad I don't have anyone else to play this with, looks like a good time. Maybe I can stream it and get people joining to play it.

Re: Interview: Solving the Puzzle of PixlCross on Wii U

argh4430

It's great seeing the insight into the game's development, especially in regards to the solvability aspect. I did independent research on Sudoku solvability algorithms for a computer program in college, and I never finished it on time. It was extremely huge and bloated, and it didn't help I was just a novice coder at that. That kind of thing is immense, and definitely makes me excited to play and create my puzzles. Kudos.

Re: TT Games Wanted To Include Mortal Kombat In The Lego Dimensions Midway Pack

argh4430

I'm not very familiar with a lot of the Midway arcade games, but some of them included are actually really good. I just recently unlocked Xybots. It's a game revolving around the 3D sections in Contra, and works quite well.

It's a shame they didn't want to include MK, but I can kind of understand it. Besides, it seems like you can get a lot or almost all of these games in other collections, it's just the novelty of having them in this game.
