Would like the shirts & hats. I stopped playing it long ago, but I love the fashion sense in the game. Even when you're mismatched. Too bad they'll never come over here, i'll bite the bullet and import them.
@DiscoGentleman that's what I was thinking. The writer automatically assumes we all hate it. Though from what i'm seeing in the comments, it's not too far off. We're becoming quite prefictive, eh?
@Radbot42 that's true, though NLife is getting a little better in that area. They still assume that after a month, those spoliers are old and spoil them casually in an unrelated article, but only a few writers seemed to do that. I'd just tread carefully and skim the article first to make sure.
Oh good. I was on the fence, but it looks like I can get the game cheaper this way. I saw a few predictions on forums elsewhere a few weeks ago that this would happen, and sure enough...
I'm not watching the video just to make sure I go in blind as possible, but i'm wondering if Ninty is trying to sabotage the game too, like Devil's Third. Or maybe they want to be as "cool" as the Sonic twitter account. Dunno. It seems the marketing here just tries a little too hard at the "memetendo" thing going on sometimes. I blame Luigi Death Stare XD
Looks pretty neat. Admittedly, I don't know much about Assasin's Creed. Would like to try one of the games at some point. Maybe Black Flag since I like pirates, but i'm open to recommendations.
@Peach64 this is something Atlus started doing, that I know of, since SMT IV. I believe it's just another revenue stream for Atlus that the hardcore gamers don't need or are expected to buy, but opens up the game to even people that are not good at RPGs at all. I think it's fine as an optional add-on.
I don't think Nintendo will feel the crunch of the fading toys-to-life model, since they aren't embracing it as much. But they have resorted to pallete-swaps, so I don't really know. If anything, Nintendo making them artificially short on supply is saving it.
It's too bad Infinity is on ice, since I had fun playing it with my sister and niece. The toybox had potential, but I felt it was hampered by either the tech, or a rushed development. It certainly had a different feel compared to LEGO Dimensions, which i'm currently playing. I guess in a few years getting the figures will be much easier and cheaper to get.
@theberrage I didn't believe the whole playing as Samus without armor in the original Metroid until I finally got online for the first time. The internet unlocked a lot of mysteries for me, including some I wished I haven't seen...
My favorites wete the Pokemon ones. Tbey had some kernal of truth to them to seem realistic enough. And the glitches the game had that were easily exploitable made the game world seem on the brink of collapse. Those glitches were canon to me, where messing with the delicate order of the world and Pokemon would break the world, Lovecraft-like.
The humble bundle has me set for a while, so i'm cool. I couldn't get into Pocket Jockey, and nothing else has my interest. I'll probably save up for more Pinball Arcade boards, lol.
What's funny, is that when the Wii and DS servers for online services was going to ho down, I swooped in Warioware DIY Showcase to download as many of the special microgames as I could (I only had 40 minutes to do it). McMillan made a microgame for Super Meat Boy, commerating his release on WiiWare. Of course, it never happened, and I joked it's the closest Nintendo will get to the game.
Good to see it's finally happening. For all those who say, "too late," may I point you to Minecraft Wii U Edition? Still sold lime hotcakes to stay at the top of the charts for seclveral months. I know people begged for Minecraft all the time on Miiverse, but it shows that as long as there's interest, people will buy these late games. There just needs to be more announcements about them.
@kobashi100 if more games supported a bluetooth controller, touch-only controls wouldn't be a problem. And Mario Kart can be done with both motion and touch if they really want to, though as you alluded, some genres don't work with just touch-controls. If anyone is crazy enough to thrown a bluetooth controller to the mobe ring, it's Nintendo.
About pricing, people are buying into cheap games just cuz of the allure. When the marketplace is flooded with games that are just $1 or free, of course the bigger, more expensive games will get overlooked. I have no doubt Nintendo is aware of that, and why there was that one article here with Iwata telling devs not to price games at $1 or under on the eshop (but of course, some do). This is why no one takes mobile games seriously, more than lack of buttons. And it can be beaten with a change of perception. I almost think Nintendo can make their own mobile eshop, like Steam, and start curating their stuff better. They have a brand prescence to do it. Or they can market themselves more online to push the bigger, more expensive games on mobile if they're pushing more towards it. Buy ads, get the word out, anything. It doesn't have to be small potatoes.
@Cakes definitely. Some of the boards in tbe Pinball Arcade are pretty primitive, and makes ZP2 look amazing in comparison. But Pinball Arcade also has lots of cool board configurations that ZP2 doesn't, which is the meat of any pinball game, and there's something cool about playing emulations of the real things. Since I live in a place that doesn't have any pinball tables anymore, this is the closest i'll get.
I started getting into mobile games lately. Not all of them try to suck you dry! I believe Nintendo can still make great mobile games that can rival the games on traditional hardware. The only thing holding it back is the stigma on mobile games, which is just unfair.
I snagged Sega 3D Classics Collection a few days ago. It's awesome, and the decals were a nice touch too. That, combined with the Humble Bundle made this week one of the best in a long while!
@aughra that's what I was hoping amiibo tap was going to do. But Nintendo chickened out, and didn't want to lose sales of VC games to amiibos. Despite amiibos being more expensive than VC games.
@Zoda_Fett yeah, but also some others. At least Saber Rider looks like it's on track, albeit mostly focusing on the Dreamcast version instead of the 3DS version I want.
Oh well, i'm patient enough for those things to finish, just not fanatical.
None of the projects i've funded on kickstarter has come into frution yet, goals met or not, so i'm a little wary of going for it. However, I think something like this is awesome, and far more likely to come out, since most of the story is already known, it's all about presenting it. I'll set aside some money, not as much as I usually do, and cheer them on.
Actually, this deluge of patent stuff might also be in response to the patent lawsuits Nintendo dealt with recently. They're just covering all their bases, present and future, so they can't get sued again.
@Nintendian you know what, I think you're absolutely correct. What better way to hide your awesome idea console than to hide it amongst a bunch of red herrings. Could also oust the internal leakers.
The first game had horrible pacing at the end that nearly killed my interest in the game, and I heard the second pulls the same crap, so i'll probably just get it used.
It's great seeing the insight into the game's development, especially in regards to the solvability aspect. I did independent research on Sudoku solvability algorithms for a computer program in college, and I never finished it on time. It was extremely huge and bloated, and it didn't help I was just a novice coder at that. That kind of thing is immense, and definitely makes me excited to play and create my puzzles. Kudos.
I saw the trailer, and it looked like the guy woke up and started screaming the f-word, something I sometimes do when I wake up late for work. Got a chuckle out of me.
@Grumblevolcano I don't know about that. My sister had her 3DS stolen, and she was able to get all her digital games back by calling Nintendo. Hell, she did that TWICE, apparently (her husband's 3DS was stolen at an earlier time). The process was easy.
This was a nice little piece, but does it have anything to do with the M&S game at all, besides a name connection? Like, did any of Oshima's proto designs end up in the game, or have cameos to Arzest's other projects?
I'm not very familiar with a lot of the Midway arcade games, but some of them included are actually really good. I just recently unlocked Xybots. It's a game revolving around the 3D sections in Contra, and works quite well.
It's a shame they didn't want to include MK, but I can kind of understand it. Besides, it seems like you can get a lot or almost all of these games in other collections, it's just the novelty of having them in this game.
Highway Star (the Japanese name for Rad Racer) was a pack-in game for the peripheral. 3D Hot Rally was another game, and even mentioned in Super Smash Bros. Melee. When Rad Racer was localized, we lacked the peripheral, but 3D glasses were still an "in" thing, and kinda worked, so they went with that as the solution.

Re: Video: The Stakes Are High in This Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Story Trailer
Not really interested in the game, i'll just wait for the eventual sale. SMT IV wasn't as much fun as I hoped it would be.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th May (North America)
I can't afford new games right now, so I picked nothing. Some good stuff here, though.
Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero
FWIW, I actually enjoy AC Amiibo Festival, but I agree that Nintendo does need to reconsider their development strategies.
Wait till next year, people.
Re: B3 Game Expo For Bees is a Wii U Exclusive Shooter With a Quirky Premise
@peeks there's nothing else to get, of course they would.

Looks a bit better than Ultratron, but i'll wait till I see how the miiverse peanut gallery takes to it.
Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Reiterates That Nintendo NX Is A New Way Of Playing Games
@teamshortcut the DS was incredible. If the NX pulls that off, i'll be impressed and buy, like, a lot of them.
No joke, that's the best-case scenario going forward, and most likely what Kimishima's shooting for.
Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Reiterates That Nintendo NX Is A New Way Of Playing Games
All i'll say is that if the NX doesn't "purely" replace the Wii U, why is the Wii U all but dead now? He's not fooling anyone here.

Re: Demongeon Promises a Hellish Platforming Challenge on Wii U This Summer
@MetaRyan a better question is, "What's with the Wii U and platformers in general?" It feels like 70% of the system's library are 2D platformers.

"Demongeon Promises a Hellish Platforming..."
Nah, i'm good. I've beaten enough super hard games for one lifetime.

Re: Nikkei Report Suggests That Wii U Production Will End in 2016
Well, I figured this would happen this year, just feels odd it's being reported before the next console even is shown.
