Nothing for me this week.
Pokemon Battle Trozei for sure, maybe Rumble U. I enjoyed the 3DS game more than I expected.
Mystery Dungeon should have been $20 otherwise, thank you Nintendo for helping me save $$$ this week.
If I didn't have 8 new games to beat/complete right now, I would of buy PMD: Gates to Infinity. A well better luck next week.
I am a bit puzzled that the mii fighters sale is Wii Fit U with the Trainer. Nintendoland, Wii party U, even the $39.99 Pilotwings Resort would of been more of a break away game for the sale.
weak offerings..
Dang it, I forgot to purchase a few games last week.
Not too exciting this week. Nothing for me. I bought SM3DL last week and will pick up Tropical Freeze next round.
What is exaclty Pokemon Battle Trozei? A Tetris version of Pokemon?
Grr. I was really hoping for a Tomadachi Life promotion, I guess I'll just have to buy it at full price. This weeks offerings are a bit weak.
Probably will pick up Battle Trozei and nothing else.
Bought Pokemon Rumble U yesterday afternoon, right after work . It's pretty awesome! xD. Still thinking about Battle Trozei and hoping DK Tropical Freeze goes on sale next week for $30-$33.
Its kind of dissapointing that these are the sales we get. 3rd party sales are always better than nintendos'. Gates to Infinity would have been a lot more attractive at 19.99$ and virtual console games at 2.99$. The other thing -s, Why are games like batman Arkham Asylum still full priced on the eshop? I want that game but man It could be 19.99$ easily. Gripessss
That is horrible. I was expecting to give my money for Metroid Fusion...
@gabopr75
"Why are games like batman Arkham Asylum still full priced on the eshop?"
Exactly, I've often wondered that myself. If I were you, I would just get a boxed version on Amazon or something. That game is pretty cheap now.
Wow, awful selection this week!
Lame. When's Kirby's week, I'm gonna give the rest of my money to Super Star.
@MoonKnight7 I will but it baffles me how they "shoot themselves in the foot" with this type of mistakes.
Was hoping for Metroid 2 or Fusion, but not gunna complain. These games are worth the full price. Buying at full price also shows Nintendo how much I support the franchise and the Virtual Console service. I really want to see Nintendo give more support to VC. More consoles and games released on a regular basis for both WiiU and 3DS would be awesome.
I picked up Pokemon Rumble U and came away disappointed, but it's simple enough for my kids to play.
Who want Pokemon Rumble U?
@gabopr75
Yeah, it's obvious that retailers are just trying to get rid of their excess amounts, but Nintendo and third parties really should keep up on that better. All it takes is a little communication between the developers/producers and Nintendo, but obviously, it seems that doesn't happen as often as it should.
@salxicha Kinda. It's oddly fun. You bring pokemon to the puzzle, and they throw pokemon pieces at you. You then match the same Pokemon with 3 or more of itself, and they clear away. But, you get bonuses and it speeds up depending on elemental effectiveness, and you're trying to capture the pokemon who is playing against you. Imagine two pokemon playing chess in a field together, that's kind of how the game world is set up. You capture the pokemon you're playing against, not the pieces on the board.
There are all nearly 500 Pokemon in the game, and its one of the best puzzle games I've played.
Poor? I was expecting Metroid Fusion...
Well, nothing this week
damn!!! again only for america. i am getting so sick of...wait...what?...oh no interesting games anyway...
have fun with those games,america
Getting Pokemon rumble u! I've always wanted it but $18 is too high IMO.
Well, let's see the brightside, I'll be able to save money for Hyrule Warriors
Instead of whining, I'm going to pick up Metroid.
@Alex - The Rumble is 11.99 in Canada, normally 19.99
I picked up Pokemon Battle Trozei. It's actually not bad.
Really disappointed that Super Metroid wasn't a part of this. Somehow, I have managed to play every Metroid game except Super Metroid. I think I will just have to stop being cheap and pay the $8 for it
Weak week.
Worst week yet.
@Dipper723 I doubt NoA would offer a game that's currently available on Club Nintendo. They didn't offer Super Punchout.
These are disappointing offerings. I was expecting ALL the old school metroid games (NES, Super Metroid, Fusion), Pokemon X/Y and Nintendoland in addition to Wii Fit U.
There's really no good excuse for X and Y not being on here, to say the least.
No Super Metroid, booooooooo!!!!!!
That's just crap...
Makes me even happier I took advantage of the last sale. This is awful.
next week please
@King47 You and me both man. I made it to the EShop with about 7mins to spare before this week's update. They let me dl Oracle of Ages at a discount but I kept getting an error with MM2. Their was still about 5mins left too! :/
Anyway, Pokémon Battle Trozei for me this week and hopefully next week some great surprise deal will come.
@Dipper723 Super Star is available on Club Nintendo for 200 coins, just saying.
The two titles I would have went for I already have. Lame. And what a ripoff using Wit Fit for the Mii representation. Tomodachi Life was released several months ago, a discount would have hardly killed it.
I already bought Triple Deluxe yesterday on impulse but I still hope it's discounted next week, Kirby deserves to send out this promotion with a bang.
@RaphaBoss Don't have coins, just saying.
Pokemon Battle Trozei is actually pretty good. Very hectic, and it's a change of pace from Bejeweled/Candy Crush/etc.
I already have Trozei so I will pass. When I saw this I also remembered that Megaman X2 was on sale last week and I missed it. Oh well.
Finally got Wii Fit U, was waiting for this weeks sale...unfortunately, so were the prime sellers on Amazon, as it was 9 bucks for a Fit Meter last week, and now they are 17 bucks. Should've bought the meter last week, oh well.
Wouldn't it make sense to have discounts for Super Metroid and/or Metroid Fusion as well? Just my two cents.
thats it
Why is there less pokemon games than actual pokemon being highlighted. Didn't anyone see this as kind of stupid???
I know Soni's still to be featured, but I was digging around old sales info, trying to figure out where the Wii U sits, in comparison to the last two Sega consoles.
See, the Dreamcast had a VERY staggered release in Japan, going almost 2 and a half years before cancellation, with North America taking a year longer to debut with the same cancellation date. Worldwide sales: 10.6 million. Better than Wii U, but imagine if the Wii U had less competition and another year in Japan.
Versus the Saturn, well, let's just say the Wii U could do MUCH worse.
Over 3 and half years in the West and over 6 years in Japan and the console still failed to break the 10 million mark.
Side scrolling games, while still enjoyed, weren't exactly seen favorably, with the industry pushing 3D to the forefront and many 2D efforts were chided for their 'lack of immersion'. Games like Doom, Hexen, Half-Life, Quake, Unreal Tournament and other 'early' FPS' were still given the lion's share of the mainstream media's press coverage. Goldeneye on the N64 had been seen as Nintendo's answer to those critics. And Sega was 'stunning' with their near flawless arcade ports (Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter 2 / 3, Soul Calibur, House of the Dead).
The Wii U is in the middle of an unprecedented arms race, one where a computer company like Microsoft and an entertainment company like Sony are trying to create interactive movies.
The last time this strategy was employed, it gave birth to the 3DO, a system of sorts that flopped massively.
But maybe, just maybe, that example could be a hint as to Nintendo's next evolution. Proprietary hardware components in a varied range of products. One could be portable, another with Blu-ray. One could be PC like and involve media and TV. Another could be simplistic and used entirely for gaming.
Again, my idea is the HDS, or Nintendo Fusion.
4 core, 1GB GPU, 2 GB RAM handheld. 3DS backward compatible.
8 core, 2GB GPU, 6GB RAM basestation. Wii U backwards compatible.
Together, they could combine resources to play PS4 / PCquality software.
Keeping the eShop means the system starts with a previously established library and older games would load faster, play smoother and look better.
4 USB 3.0 slots, optical out, SDHC compatibility, 500 GB HDD (base) 32 GB storage (handheld).
Launch titles:
Luigi's Mansion 3, Super Mario Fusion (2D and 3D), Legends of Bioshock (3 pack), Metroid Fusion EX (Metroid Fusion remake with HD graphics and fully orchestrated music, as well as expanded gameplay and increased animations), NHL2K (system exclusive), Konami: Rebirth 2 (the Rebirth series gets sequels in the vein of Contra Shattered Soldier), Wave Race: Dark Waters (faster, more locations, online), Viewtiful Joe HD collection, Shinji Mikami Presents: The Last Haunting, Beauty/Decay (Mistwalker game with Yoshitaka Amano spritework), Sin and Punishment: Star Revenger, Darksiders 3 and Zombi2 (think Zombi U, over the whole of the UK, with tens of thousands of zombies, dozens of melee weapons and firearms, 5 -8 well developed characters to play as and a night / day cycle).
So 13 full retail titles and let's say, a promise of 20-30 additional VC titles the first month.
I don't even see Nintendo's next system using Blu-ray. Maybe something different. Like my prototype: Lite-ray. A proprietary drive that uses specialty 75 GB discs.
Naturally, the drive would be to get the annual 3rd party titles as well, but I think Nintendo would do well to fire back at EA, and maybe as soon as E3.
Something like..
'Hi, I'm Reggie Fils-Amie, here to share our latest systems.
Combining the portability of the 3DS with the second screen innovation of the Wii U, this is the most capable hardware we've yet created. Fully backward compatible with BOTH the Wii U and the 3DS, this is, in my opinion, the most powerful and versatile console on the market today.
Combining our talents with Matsushita and AMD, this is the result of hours conferencing with respected developers, like Atlus, Capcom, 2K, From Software and others.
And no, it won't feature Electronics Arts games on it. What is best for Nintendo, what is best for business is not to allow EA services on our hardware. As a result, we've come into a partnership with 2K, to bring the full catalog of 2K software to this system. Not only that, but this is now the exclusive home of NCAA sports, NBA basketball (2K purchases the NBA rights, similar to EA's contract with the NFL) as well as the exclusive home to 2K NHL hockey.'
Then some stuff about 32 player MK8, videos, demos and a price range of 500-600$.
Fully compatible with all Wii / Wii U controllers (including the Gamepad) and can use 3DS as a controller for all Wii U games.
No DS / Wii backwards compatibility.
Expanded media services: Amazon Prime, Crackle, Crunchyroll, Funimation, WWE, NHL Gamecentre, NFL Sunday Ticket.
And increased features set for Netflix, Hulu and Youtube.
Flash, Java, MP3, MP4, M4A, WMV, WMA and H.264 browser /media support.
Wireless and 10/100/1000 connector.
Stronger account based system.
Better Club Nintendo integration and more consumer input.
Finally an upgrade to customize the music, layout, and search options on current eShop.
