Back in late September we directed your attention to Battleminer, a 3DS eShop release from Wobbly Tooth Games with "that Minecraft aesthetic". The developer made some bold promises, such as 60fps performance in a procedurally generated world, a survivor mode in which you mine, craft and fight enormous ants, in addition to a Creative mode in which you can create environments and share images on Miiverse.
Lots to deliver, and it won't be long until we see how the final result stacks up — the developer has confirmed that it'll arrive in North America on 20th November. You can see a new trailer, meanwhile, below.
Do you plan to pick this up, or will you be crafty and see what others think of it first?

I'll pick it up... when it releases in Europe.
Maybe when it comes to the UK.
Looks rather dull :/
I want this to be good b/c I want a game were ants take over the world. At least that element is a fresh idea.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE ANTS!! sorry not interested at the moment but maybe.
It just looks like Minecraft to me which still doesn't interest me. Sorry but I'll pass.
I'll have it. Looks pretty cool.
Just release Minecraft already.
No again shovelware
I'm sure this is no 8 on the richter scale, but I am impressed by the graphics in that video. The smooth frame rate and the draw distance are both superior to most 3DS games not made by Nintendo.
@McGruber Well, it does have the advantage of only having to render low-res cubes...
The textures look pretty bad. As for the gameplay, there's not enough in the trailer to tell how good it is. Doesn't look terrible though.
Between this and Toy Stunt Bike, I'm convinced that the guys at Wobbly Tooth are either completely out of their minds or on drugs. Either way, I love them and will absolutely buy this.
They made Toy Stunt Bike? That was a respectable eshop game...my nephew loved it
Bringing a machine gun to an Ant fight is like bring a nuke to a Cockroach fight. The cockroach would win.
I dunno, I'll just wait for the reviews to find out which one out of the three current Minecraft clones are the best.
That didn't take long
@Pokefraker The chance for that has significantly decreased, unless there was a deal in place pre-acquisition...
So we'll take the clones, speaking on the clones...
How many of them are there now?
This game looks absolutely crazy.
Wow, this video looks pretty low-grade. I like how the mining just makes the block disappear, no effects. Also, I was hoping the gun-play would look more like Doom, with the gun right in the lower-middle part of the screen. Actually, the graphics and gameplay might be going for minecraft/COD. I'll look into it or get it as it looks crazy enough for me.
Looks interesting enough, if it earns a 6/10 or more and if i have the money i will probably get it.
Interesting. Wish there was some online co-op mode, to keep things fresh. Will buy it if the price is right, and when it comes to europe, of course.
I have Minecraft on the computer I'm on right now. Pass.
Now, I am not a video game creator so I don't know how hard it is to make video games. However, it is really sad that developers feel the need to ride the coattails of mine craft by making a really lazy art style.

Looks pretty shovel-y, and ware-y.
I hate the eShop.
Funny how people are criticising the graphics when this is a 3DS game 😒
I've been looking forward to this game since mid August. The video looks smooth, so I'm hopeful.
I tend to prefer MC clones to (at least) Vanilla MC. I'll give it a shot.
This just makes me wish there was an Earth Defense Force style game for 3DS/Wii U.
Considering...decided! I'm gonna wait for reviews and, of course, a price tag. Maybe if they offered a demo for it...
@AshFoxX My thoughts exactly.
Looks a little plain and besides I've just got Survivalcraft for my wp phone for my portable minecraft fix, it actually surpasses the real minecraft in some ways with more weather, more realistic wildlife and logic gate & memory blocks for the redstone.
I'd like to see Minecraft on the 3DS, really. I think the touchscreen could bring some neat elements to crafting.
As for this? Kinda depends on the price. I might spend maybe seven bucks at most on it. Too much more and I'l probably avoid it.
Lack of information in a Trailer usually means means the game lacks what your looking for. I find that to be true 99 percent of the time. Only 1 game has proven that wrong in my experience. Personally this game looks good but what else can you do besides mine and shoot?
@Pokefraker Microsoft bought Mojang (the creators of Minecraft), so that's very unlikely...
That's why it was released on Vita post acquisition .
Not to mention the constant support of both Sony versions, along with IOS after the purchase.
Though likely a warp-pipe dream (see what I did there ) I'd like to see it far more than all of these terrible clones.
