Capteure

Today is a red letter day. During moments like this, one cannot help but sit down and take stock of their own small part to play in this vast eternity we call existence. Crack open the history books, prepare for the very earth to shake, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria...Meme Run is coming.

Yes in a surprising turn of events, the controverisal indie title has earned Nintendo's official approval and will be hitting (with its head, most likely) the Wii U eShop very soon, just in time to bring some festive cheer on December 18th. For those of you who are unaware, or perhaps chose to forget, Meme Run is the latest project from developer Ninja Pig Studios, and puts you in the obnoxious shoes of a troll-faced stick figure on a gleeful run through Hell itself — a world ruled by internet memes.

Jordan Schuetz, Ninja Pig founder, has been posting a few nuggets of information on Twitter, and has also announced an upcoming trailer set to release around Thanksgiving. He's previously described the game as a parody designed to ''troll'' people, and came under some heavy criticism from those who feel the concept is taking creative liberty a bit too far. With bold claims like the tweet below, however, how can we all not get excited??

For now, we can only speculate about the existential horrors and guilty delights the game is sure to bring once it launches, though we'll be sure to update once that long-awaited trailer arrives. Until then, you can check out some previously-revealed footage at the bottom of this article.
