I suspect much of the demand (as it was for me) was the cartridge with everything on it. The rest is a nice bonus, but making that all-in-one cartridge available more would alleviate a lot of this issue.
@cleveland124 I'd worry more if they were up for sale rather than selling their shares to the other owners. I'm more worried about their bats waking up than the sale.
@Yorumi I can see that. My concern is more than perhaps none of their games are ready for the holidays. Makes 3rd-party support all the more crucial this time around to have that steady stream they need.
I'd like to be optimistic, but I'm struggling to be right now. I think I'll be playing on my other systems more later in the year based on forthcoming releases (that don't interest me a ton).
Oof. I have to think that delaying the console has more to do with software than hardware. They cannot afford another threadbare launch window.
I think this generation, all the way around, is the best advertisement for not just buying in to one company's products. I'm glad I have each of the three consoles (and both handhelds) this generation, and I know I'm fortunate to be able to do that. But while Nintendo's E3 isn't looking promising from this perspective at this moment, I'm still excited for a new Forza game coming (please be Horizon 3), plus Persona 5 and some other goodies.
@XCWarrior It's the fact that, even with plenty of good hitters, they can't hit that's holding the Mariners back. Felix, Kuma, and Walker all look good, and Karns has been solid. Miley will get it together.
Just one more to purchase for me (Bayonetta), but beyond that, I can't see much use. Mine sit on display more than get used, and even then it's only for Yoshi's Woolly World.
I love the original Star Fox, but this is retelling the same story a third time. That's why I'm not onboard, along with the out-of-cockpit bits that were tedious to me in Assault. I loved Adventures, but that was fine as a one-off. The problem for me is the series basically is a retread where there's plenty of story they could explore. They just don't, instead treating it as a test bed. That's why I'm skipping it: not because of Gamepad controls.
Not from Atlus... but kind of from Atlus. That would be close to saying that an NES game is from Ultra, not Konami. I mean, they are the same company...
I'm indifferent without details, but I'm not an early adopter. That said, this kind of feels right to me, with Nintendo wanting their DS audience that went to mobile back.
It has the feeling of them trying to make up for lost marketing all at once: when it's so overt that they're trying to get you to constantly talk about Nintendo, it ceases being marketing and becomes a reason to block someone.
@XCWarrior And considering MLB The Show isn't coming to the Vita this year, I'm majorly disappointed. I wish they could have put 10% of the effort into the Vita they're putting into this expensive chunk of plastic.
Like @luigifan624 said, I'm not confident that Sony has the attention span to support the thing if it faces any kind of adversity.
I'm also still not seeing VR as being the dominating force that certain quarters are hyping it as. It economically stratifies at the moment, and that will be a hindrance to it having the immediate mass market effect predicted. The technology certainly has a future, but I hope Nintendo waits and sees and does not have a Gunpei Yokoi philosophy about their possible approach (which would probably be a non-backlit GBA with a headband).
I hear many cries of giving games a chance - we heard the same with Codename STEAM, which held no interest for me. It's simple: we can't be expected to give every game a chance with the plethora of choices out there. That makes it very easy for perception to become reality.
Accurate emulation is very resource hungry, and Nintendo tend to be sticklers for details like that. The GBA ambassador games were running differently, without pause options and the like.
As much as it would make sense from a marketing perspective to push the newer hardware some way, I'd have to think they would have made way more money simply having the VC on the original 3DS years ago. The fact that they didn't has always implied to me that they weren't able to emulate to their satisfaction.
Though it occurs to me that Starfox 2 would be a nice little way to make some $$$...
It's probably best to consider what the value of complete secrecy really is. E3 is losing presentations at this point, and it might be better to roll out individual game announcements as they're ready or as the timing is right. A new model for announcements and communication in general wouldn't be a bad thing.
It would be low risk/high reward, but I think the mentality at Nintendo is that they wouldn't release it somewhere the original system never existed. Prove me wrong, Nintendo, and show you've gotten the hang of having a global customer base.
A shame I have a meeting during that time; this whole living in the Pacific time zone is kinda new to me. I'd like a bit more on SMTxFE. I'm good on everything else for now. Trackmania Turbo will get a lot of my gaming time at the end of the month and Fates will give me many hours of fun (sincere apologies, Europe).
Thanks, Atlus! Best supporter of the 3DS. I do hope they manage to make III Untold the series swansong for the 3DS and not a subsequent system/platform.
VR is going to need to get really cheap really fast in order to make sizable impact on the market. And launching the NX would hurt the Wii U? So would not launching it. As much as I love the system, the U's dead. Time to give it a nice send-off (for many that will be Zelda; for me it'll be SMT x FE).

Re: Nintendo of America Has a Snazzy New Slogan - "There's No Play Like It"
Meh. Sounds like someone not enunciating the key word there. Doesn't strike as a clever play on words.

@the-madprofessor I'd like a remake of Wall Street with Tom Nook stating "greed is good. Yes yes."

Re: Star Fox Zero Makes a Positive Start in the UK Charts
Substantial marketing campaign for Ratchet and Clank? Eh? Only next to the one for the Wii U, perhaps...
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Needs to Excite A Mainstream Audience in 2016
Please stop with the dark and gritty. It's just not true. It's the same slur others apply to Nintendo being kiddie.

Pocket Card Jockey, Pinball Arcade, and one of the 3DS home themes for me. Also a reminder to finally buy the map pack for Fates.

Excellent. I was afraid we were only going to get themed ones anymore.
Re: Editorial: From Metroid: Other M to Star Fox Zero, the Awkward Experimentation With Beloved Franchises

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2016 - Spring Edition
Rhythm Heaven and 7th Code Whatsis. More coming to the Vita than the 3DS that I want right now (something I didn't expect in 2016).
Re: Poll: The Utterly Charming Animal Crossing Series Is 15 Today, But Which Is Your Favourite?
I still keep my town up in the GCN edition, but New Leaf brought the series back for me. I didn't much care for Wild World or City Folk.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2016 - Spring Edition
Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Mekazoo. Can't bother to be hyped by a third game.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Source and Details Gain Some Traction
@earthboundlink No chance they're going to genderize the name of the next handheld. They'd get killed for a move like that.

Against Nintendo here. And they're decades late to the point of it being laughably after the fact.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Shares Hope That Miitomo and My Nintendo Will Connect Users With Company Brand
It seems much more like they want us to articulate their brand to others, not connect with it.
I'm getting the feeling that they want their Wii/DS customers back.

Kart, Golf, Strikers. I like my Picross without Mario (or Pokemon, or anything else) in it.

I really am hoping for Untold III as well; it would bother me in an obsessive way if that's the on that doesn't come to the system.
