Bundle all of the toon releases together—Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks—like they did with the 3D Mario release.

I would love Starfox Adventure. And PN03. Those with SSX3 and Medal of Honor: Frontline got most of my GCN time.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 for the 3DS would be a pleasant surprise. Otherwise just expecting really details for games already announced. A slate of release dates would be brilliant.

I'd probably do what I used to do on the PS1: Load up the Hurricos level on Ripto's Rage and have the music as a soundtrack for whatever I was doing around the house.

Bayonetta, Blade Strangers, and Runner 3 for me.

If we're being fair, these are not separate circles between audiences. A lot of 3DS owners also own an X1 or PS4.

The Switch is not a purchase I'm interested in at this time, so I'll be satisfied enough with the New 3DS version.

I just haven't been able to justify buying one, honestly, and when Nintendo moves on from the 3DS (read: Atlus), I probably will for a spell as well. The games I want to play right now are elsewhere, though I'm very happy that everyone has gotten so much joy from theirs. Not sarcasm.

I'll still get it, and I'm one of those who finds the endless powerups in some Mario sports games to be tiresome, so hearing that they're toned down here is nice. Baseball sounds disappointing, though.

Anything more on Ever Oasis these days? Or the next Etrian Odyssey?

If I paid more, would they not make me buy Just Dance?

@Turbo857 I'm sort of the opposite: since they sorted out the Xbox One's interface to something much cleaner, my main screen is the last thing I did, three or four previous ones, and then my pinned games and apps. The PS4 one made me want to throw my controller out the window. So happy I sold that thing.

They're hyping this so much as a home console, and these are things home consoles have. Not the web browser so much, but the streaming apps are vital. Otherwise they're accepting that they're an additional box for most people.

It's fine: I can play Final Fantasy: Bro Edition on a different system.

Like others have said, I'll be quite bothered if a lack of a browser inhibits logging into WiFi. I already had to do backflips to get my 3DS to work most of the time. At my last job (a university), I had to ping the wireless with my device and email them my MAC address so they could do it manually. I hope it's simpler this time.

I've already uninstalled it, honestly. Battery killer and I couldn't take another moment of that astonishingly awful theme song that sounds like a bad operatic version of a fight song from a liberal arts college.

I wish Nintendo understood that those who want these games generally have them. It's not like their platforms have been overwhelming with releases. I'd prefer some new 3DS themes or something over this.

@keresmatic At my previous school, I used to ping the wifi connection, then give user services my MAC address and they were always able to add me manually. They were amused, too, since I have three of the things, but were happy to do it.

@JLPick Not to nitpick, but there's no way Nintendo has more money than the other two combined. Microsoft has a lot of cash.

40 million feels optimistic to me. I could see it in the 20-30 million range. Maybe.

Sometimes I tire of Nintendo telling me what is fun instead of asking.

I tend to wait until there are 10 games I want on a system before I take the plunge. So looking at the list up there, here's what I have:

Splatoon 2 (not a fan of online games and certainly not paying for the privilege, even though the game is very stylish)

So I'm close. But I think this isn't something I need right now, and the VC situation and some of the other things not clear yet mean that maybe I'll get this some time in 2017.

I said this would be the one thing that would get me to buy the Switch. And there it is. Happy beyond words.

I've been thinking of what it would take to convince me to buy it, and that's a tall order right now. I'm curious if Koei Tecmo has another Warriors crossover in the works; one with Fire Emblem would be one of the few things getting me to preorder the Switch. Other than that, I'll probably wait (if I buy it at all) until the library fattens up.

I'm glad the community has a lot of positivity for it, but I'm having trouble caring. I have no plans to purchase the Switch.

Nintendo's moving on and so am I, but mostly to other systems. I don't like the concept of the Switch so far and the games I want to play are elsewhere. The Wii U will remain a gem to me (like the Vita), but the blame for it not catching on can only fall one place: the people who made it.

I barely even think of amiibo being in this competition. They're more decorative fluff than they are game components like the others have been. Nintendo could stop now or not stop now and it would not really change their game output.

That's... really underwhelming. Though if true it will probably stop the snide comments about the Xbox One and PS4 only having remasters.

Tekken and DoA are the fighting series I like the best. Tekken 7 on the Switch would be nice, but I'll get it on the Xbox One. It'll be a year or two after release that I even consider the Switch.

It's the absolute cheapest form of marketing, letting demand create buzz rather than advertising. And Nintendo is always tight with the pocketbook when it comes to advertising.

I get why you published this article, but I wish you wouldn't have. For the minor bit of Nintendo news in all of it, all it can serve to do is divide us. I'd rather have an opinion of someone based on their opinion of Switch or something else that gets us all going. Not their politics or beliefs.

Finally might be able to get my mitts on the black one. I already have the Boo glow-in-the-dark faceplates on my white Japanese N3DS, but they'd look better on black.

Just Boo. Waiting on Bayonetta and still need to get Rover.

They'd really be better off offering these discounts on the eShop rather than as something we need to collect for. Discounts aren't a reward, as someone else said, but an offer. I appreciate that they're trying, but they're badly out of touch if they think this is what their most ardent fans would consider tempting.

@JLPick I don't know that Sony and Microsoft of 2016 will try to copy a concept without measuring success. They both seem to have their own plans and paths, and I can't see them chasing Nintendo like this in this generation.

I've given up on it. No interest in Miitomo means there was almost no point for me in the first place. They would have been better off extending the DDP and debuting this when it was fully baked.

Like any system, it'll sound more interesting if the games are good. That's what matters.

@m1024 I'm there with you. I bought an Xbox One a year ago (for Forza 6, Forza Horizon 2, and Sunset Overdrive) and haven't looked back. My Wii U still gets some action, primarily trying to pick off every little thing in Hyrule Warriors, but it sees as much life as my PS4 now (some games I like, but I just don't use it as much).

I did just buy the New Galaxy New 3DS (which is New), so more portable gaming, but once you find a system that fits, especially a home console, it's tough to switch back. I'll struggle to be enticed by whatever the NX is for at least the first year to 18 months.

I know there are the comparisons to things like an iPhone announcement. But people are buying iPhones because of the software. They're buying them because... actually, I have no idea why.

You want a period to hype a system before release because you want plenty of time to be able to talk about the forthcoming games as well. That's what builds the hype on an entire system. If you don't do that, and try to just sell the box instead, I don't really know who is buying.

Also, as far as hiding the concept from competitors is concerned, eventually you need to show your hand and believe that you can do it better than they can. Sony is committed to VR (for a couple of months, until it struggles) and Microsoft is spinning off into PC land with gaming - and I like both and have their systems - so eventually you need to show hand, show your games, and get the ball rolling.

If they're going to hold March, I'd say an early November reveal. That way you can get a bunch of holiday money down on preorders. Maybe.
