@Sahnec it's a hit in that it's been popular with streamers and speedrunners. The reviews might not have been great but a lot of people have had fun with the game.

Other platforms are releasing the game on thursday and for some reason the Switch delay isnt affecting the Japanese released as its coming out in Japan on December 21st. Why is everywhere else delayed thats so random?

I thought the OG Snake voice actor was Akio Otsuka.

I like the design of the European cover the most, but the Japanese one is where we can see the full artwork. The NA one is a bit cluttered.

This game is gonna get so much new content rolled out over the next year or more. I dunno seems like a silly thing to miss out on for an exploit.

If James Cameron can make half a dozen avatar sequels for a movie that barely anyone remembers the plot details to i don't see the problem with making BOTW a trilogy.

Yeah, the good thing about games is this is a fantasy world and these things don't need answers. Stuff like this just breaks the immersion.

I've grown up with Nintendo and Mario all my life and, this isnt Mario. I had always wished we could have gotten a Nintendo made movie that was the quality and fan service that we got with the Smash Ultimate trailers but, yeah i dunno what this is. There's no charm to it it feels hollow. I don't like the idea of them making a Zelda movie in this style too.

@Deltarogue there is some history there with the game as it is Nintendo first party, and the Yakuman character is a spirit in Smash Ultimate.

The "Project Zero in the west" part is a mistake its called Zero (零) in Japan.

Oh i forgot they did the same thing with the Monster Hunter movie too.

Oh god Luigi looks even weirder than Mario. And geeze, with that city picture are they AGAIN going for that tired storyline in all of these adaptations of "main character is from the REAL (our) world and gets transported to the fantasy world that the original movie did, only animated? Its just as old as the reverse "main character is from fantasy world but enters our universe oooh meta" that the smurfs movie, sonic, fat albert, and many others did because fish out of water stories are the only way these writers know how to adapt things. Enchanted wasnt even an adaptation but was all about storylines like this.

I've lived in Japan a decade now, i ev n did my university in Kyoto and like, for me when I took a bus out once to see the office for myself i was a bit disappointed. The Kyoto office is in one of the more plain, boring parts of the city.

@DashKappei RE7 was 2000 yen for six months thats about 18 usd

I know a lot of you have been moaning about the cloud versions, and i havent heard good things about the KH games on switch, but just my own personal experience i live in japan and have played RE7 multiple times since it was released here on switch a couple years back and it played beautifully, smooth, and i never encountered any problems with it. Im really excited to finally get to play these other RE games i just hope they play as well as 7 does.

Look, as a seasoned member of the alphabet mafia, i've never had a problem if they have swimsuits or skimpy outfits for characters in games, as long as its equal opportunity. Like, its just really weird first of all (looking at you DoA and earlier MK entries) if the girls basically are wearing two strips of duct tape and the guys are in full head to toe armor. If the female characters get jiggly with it have the guys shirtless and flexing its only fair.

Also i really wasnt expecting Noah to be that ripped.

Honestly, if little kids like it, thats great. And if their parents are the type that would have seen it anyway then it could be a fun family outing. I'm not one that even acknowledges movie adaptations of video games, they never feel right and i'd get more out of just playing the actual games. I was never going to see this anyway. My feelings on pratt and "mario's" weird face aside, if the majority of you guys are excited, thats awesome. Enjoy yourselves.

@Foff you're assuming pratt has the acting chops to pull off an italian accent, real or cartoony. If thats what they wanted, they would have just paid Martinet a fat check and hired him.

@Ryu_Niiyama it does seem to be more common on the japan side to keep the voices consistent as much as they can. I remember when the big recasting of Solid Snake happened in MGS5 his japanese voice actor didnt change.

So the issue is just with the "3" part of s3&k? Hmm, bit of a shame, but its not Sega's fault that this turned into an issue years after the fact, but 3 really is the shorter portion of the game, and the vast majority of the music will still be there.

Yes, i always thought of the FF series as a good comparison. The Mother series always used simple red box art with the games titles in the center.

Wouldn't "escape games" be a better more fitting name for the genre? It fits better with the japanese word for these games and more accurately describes the premise.

Also the Zero Escape games arent currently on the Switch, unless they were announced recently and we just haven't heard it. Otherwise the poll is highly misleading

Just playing devils advocate one more time on these switch cloud versions, i live in japan and have just the most basic internet connection at my apartment, and have played through the RE7 cloud version several times and have never run into slowdown or crashes. The game plays beautifully. I don't know if the infrastructure or connection capability is just not up to par in most of america/europe but i wouldnt blame cloud technology in and of itself.

But yes i agree, theres no reason KH 1 and 2 arent ports thats a weird choice.

@GoshJosh i get that its fine. The Mother series isn't even cancelled or ignored like i hear some people say, its concluded to the satisfaction of its creator. But if these guys just feel nostalgic and want to do all this work for something that COULD stand on its own but they're adamant about keeping that title, thats fine, wish them the best.

I personally think Mother 3 ended in a way that completes the series beautifully and there's no need for any more games. It's finished. But Itoi said he personally doesn't mind fan games and wouldn't get in the way. Still, why not just go for the inspired by route, be upfront about it, but make your own thing? Especially if it's good enough you can profit of it and get it to more people. As a fan game that bills itself as an unofficial sequel it's really got nowhere to go.

Why do people try to immortalize memes like this? They always age so poorly and are so specific to the audience that originally experienced them. I havent even seen where this one came from but saw it referenced in a youtube video briefly out of context.

Just come up with a memorable title that people will actually connect with.
