@Detective_TeeJay first off, no I didn't say that. Second, I can do three first party, a lot more with third party games:
1. Star Tropics 2. Star Tropics II 3. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (this one eventually did make it to Japan years later, but only as a digital release, and only as a very high point item exclusively on Club Nintendo for a very short time before it shut down).
Isn't this game like, hella old? I remember playing a demo back in 2014 on the Japanese e-shop. It's fun enough, but nothing so deep that it would take two years to localize.
The latest daigasso seems to have done well and they supported it with download content for a long time. I like Nintendo acknowledging their smaller IPs.
With Final Fantasy VII on Nintendo, a definitive Smash 4 for NX, the NX being stronger than current systems, and Mother 3 rumours, Im getting really excited for this year.
@RupeeClock its an entertainment site. They're only obligated to post what they think is interesting/interesting to their readers. My only concern is that Duckhunt is actually the least interesting of the swaps, but its a cute article. Lighten up people!
@GeminiSaint we call them Kana, to be more specific. I know what you meant. As a Japanese speaker I dont mind people saying the word letter too much. Its a step above saying its part of the "Japanese alphabet".
@ParkaTron i highly doubt it. He made those as an homage because he liked them. There are a lot of things in Nintendos past that they don't revisit (like Geno until recently). Im sure he'll be happy they'll be widely available in an easy to use format.
@DamienMcFerran They've been hyping it up a bit, with the Lucas amiibo out the same day as the game, the series commemorative Nintendo points card, and until the end of the month all three games are discounted.
But I can see then expanding the recurring cast and the game formula. It doesn't always need to be Link as a single protagonist, weak at the beginning, gathering items to save Zelda. Hyrule Warriors wasnt just a collaboration in another games style. It showed us that Impa and Zelda can be fun playable characters and still be a Zelda game. A zelda game can be episodic.
For a long time Nintendo has been wanting to change what the meaning of a "Zelda game" is, and I think Hyrule Warriors gave us a taste of that.
@Crimzonlogic there's no reason that she can't be his sister in some incarnation. The recurring characters change a lot between games. Link has been a farmer, a train conductor, he has been Zelda's childhood friend in one version, and a complete stranger who only knows her by name in another.
@-Godot again, its not about STARTING with N. The way Japanese works is very different from the English or other Romance language alphabets. The hint is that it contains the katakana ン, which while sounding like N, cannot be at the start of a word.
Japanese Kana work as phonetic representations, while looking like vowel consonant pairs to English speakes. Other N sounds exist, like な (na), or に (ni). The Kana ン is the only sound in Japanese without a vowel attached, which is why a word cannot start with it. So you're looking for a Pokemon that has it in the middle or end of its name, like Jigglypuff, which is Purin (プリン)
@ItsRainingGravy Oh wow, tbh I dont know that much about Pokemon. I saw the katakana hint and got excited. I like language and puzzle stuff. But looking at that link:
@ItsRainingGravy its not about starting with "n". Its about containing "n", in this case the katakana ン. What is unique about that specific katakana is that words cannot start with it. So you're looking for a Pokemon that has it in the middle or end of their name.
@SakuraHaruka She fits. Is she popular? It must be possible to make a shortlistlist of Pokemon that are popular, would fit in with the other characters on the roster, and fit the katakana hint.
@day I feel like I understand every word individually in your rant, but something didn't flow, or maybe I'm just tired because I didn't understand what you were telling us.

Re: Pocket Card Jockey Comes to the 3DS This May
@Detective_TeeJay ha!
Remember back to a simpler time, when people thought that Shovel Knight had a chance in Smash Bros? March 2016. We still don't have SK in Japan!!

Re: Feature: What We Expect from Nintendo Direct - 3rd March

Re: Video: See How Pokémon on the 3DS Virtual Console Compares to an Original Cartridge on a Retron 5

Re: Barbara the Bat Costume Comes to Super Mario Maker

Re: Video: Check Out the Chitoge Nisekoi Costume in Super Mario Maker
@MitchVogel Her last name is Kirisaki, not Nisekoi, the name of the anime she's from.

Re: Weirdness: See What Other Smash Fighters Would Look Like with Bayonetta's Proportions
@OneBagTravel No, buzzfeed would be like: 10 times bayonetta drank pumpkin spice lattes and completely snatched our wigs.
Re: Weirdness: See What Other Smash Fighters Would Look Like with Bayonetta's Proportions
Im sorry, the Lucas one is the best one. Its even been going around tumblr.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Has Plans to Localise Mother 3 This Year
And Lucas' chances of appearing in Smash 5 just went drastically.
Re: Video: See what Freedom Planet's Lilac Would Look Like as a Smash Character
I have never even heard of this game.
Re: Video: Relive the Glorious Madness of The Wonderful 101 With the 60fps Director's Edition Trailer
I too thought there was some "Director's Edition" re-release of the game coming.
Re: The Princess Daisy Costume is Finally Coming to Super Mario Maker
I feel like the Daisy fandom is the meme that everyone forgot was a meme and now take it seriously.

Re: Another Fighter Character for Pokkén Tournament Will Be Revealed Next Week
@Joenen it doesn't have to start with "ra", just have it anywhere in the name.
Re: Video: Here's What Shovel Knight's New amiibo-Based Co-Op Mode Looks Like
@Ichiban you're trolling right?

Re: Video: Mother 3 Hits Japanese Virtual Console With Impressive Trailer In Tow
@renaryuugufan92 Wait, are you posting on Japanese forum boards in English? Because thats not good.
Re: Video: Mother 3 Hits Japanese Virtual Console With Impressive Trailer In Tow
@renaryuugufan92 If you're going to shorten Japan, try jp or jpn instead.

Re: Final Mii Fighter Costumes and Hats Detailed for Super Smash Bros.
@PlywoodStick i know right! That made me happy.
Re: Linkle to be Considered for Future Legend of Zelda Titles
@HyrulianOfHyrule impossible.

Re: Linkle to be Considered for Future Legend of Zelda Titles
@rjejr Rinkuru would just be a Hepburn Romanization of the katakana リンクル. To a Japanese speaker it wouldn't sound any different than Linkle.
Re: Linkle to be Considered for Future Legend of Zelda Titles
Lana is not a Zelda character. She was designed specifically to appear in the Nintendo Warriors games.
Re: Xenoblade X Art Designers Created the Game's Armor Sets with Samurai in Mind
Samurai and Ninja are interchangeable now?
Re: Sceptile Spotted as Potential Reveal for Pokkén Tournament Roster
Sceptile, whose Japan name is Jukain, does match the hint that was given for the reveal.
He's also fairly popular and from what I heard got a bit of votes in the Smash ballot.
Re: A 'Big' Nintendo Announcement is Coming on Monday
@faint read it again. He has a history with indie games but he's the head manager of Licensing and Marketing
Re: A 'Big' Nintendo Announcement is Coming on Monday
@madelk honestly, it really could be Nintendo Account, but it really wouldnt get anyone excited. I just signed up for it and it is suuuper bare-bones.
Re: Circle Entertainment Claims That Nintendo of America Only Allows Up to Four Themes Per 3DS Game
Thats weird. I know there's tons of franchises and non-game properties that have more than four themes in Japan.

Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@ItsRainingGravy Someone should make a topic in the forums to discuss the hint and narrow down the Pokemon that it could be.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
And finishing generation 1 up to #151
Lickitung, Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Goldeen, Staryu, Tauros, Magikarp, Ditto, Jolteon, Porygon, Snorlax, Zapdos.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
Out of 51-101
Persian, Mankey, Arcanine, Poliwrath, Kadabra, Alakazam, Weepinbell, Graveler, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Dewgong, Muk, Cloyster, Electrode.
Of course Gengar too but I believe he's already in the game.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@ItsRainingGravy Oh wow, tbh I dont know that much about Pokemon. I saw the katakana hint and got excited. I like language and puzzle stuff. But looking at that link:
1-51
Metapod, Kakuna, Pidgeotto, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Nidoran, Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Vulpix, Ninetails, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Venonat, Venomoth.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December

Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@NintyMan it is possible that Greninja will be in the game at a later time, but this new character isn't him.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
If it is Jigglypuff, who is the only Smash roster Pokemon who fits the hint, will people he happy or upset?
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@SakuraHaruka She fits. Is she popular? It must be possible to make a shortlistlist of Pokemon that are popular, would fit in with the other characters on the roster, and fit the katakana hint.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@WaddleDeeWeegee Its neither of those two.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
Neither meloetta or gothitelle have an n in their Japanese name.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
It could be Jigglypuff as its Japanese name ends in n.
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@TwilightAngel Greninja's Japanese name is Gekkouga. No "n"
Re: A Major Pokkén Tournament Announcement is Coming on 10th December
@LexKitteh Its an "n". And it doesn't say it starts with it (no words in Japanese do), but that it has ン in it.
