Its crazy with how japanese these games are the AA games, along with Pokemon and, the one that still blows my mind, Yokai Watch, are consistant examples of whitewashing in the localization process.

I think this sort of comment in game reviews is a bit juvenile and unnecessary.

I have a huge love for Order of Ecclesia and Shanoa is such a cool character. I always hoped that if they do continue to main series of games that she would return.

The GBA Castlevania games still are a joy to play and im relieved that they look fairly good on the TV. I was worried about that but im having blast. I still wish they had put the GBA and DS games in one collection as im assuming those will be next (and also curious about if there will be a bonus 4th game included). I would have paid a premium price for that but oh well.

And in the japanese direct they introduced the hollywood cast for some reason, remarking "oh wow, isnt he so cool" when introducing Pratt. Can Japanese people stop fawning over white hollywood already.

Well this is exciting! I was hoping something would happen to the Getsu Fuma IP because it always had an interesting history and story. After we got that Go Getsu Fuma song in Smash Ultimate that was included in the Castlevania stage music I looked it up and thought it'd be cool if we got a new release for current consoles. Random but it actually happened. Now maybe Takamaru can get some love?

@Alaninho yes actually, particularly for black gay men. Calling someone sus was shorthand for calling someone suspect or suspicious of gay or effeminate behavior. Its an older term that was dying out but its been in use for decades and Among Us has brought it into popular usage.

Im really not comfortable with straight people just throwing around the word sus around this game given the violently homophobic history in usage of it thats still being done today.

@Marioracer like i said, i empathize, with the state of sonic in general. But hey, Sonic Mania is still an amazing triumph, and the Studiopolis theme (one of the best) got into Ultimate!

This is why i stopped using this site. The comment sections became a lot of complaining and whining and its just tired and sad. There's little to no actual conversation or information exchange happening its just an echo chamber of people shouting out biased unresearched complaints without any actual back and forth dialogue happening.

@Severian i keep seeing a lot of youtubers suggest characters like Crash and Lloyd Irving making a nice end to FP2, for both western and eastern fan appeal, as though Crash would be pick for the west, but for a certain generation in Japan, particularly those that grew up in the PS1 era, Crash was a really popular character. He even got a slight redesign for the japanese market. Crash totally works as a smash pic for all regions and Sakurai is definitely well aware of the character.

Btw, i just saw the Sephiroth trailer, didn't know he has a shirtless alt. And also is that remix of One-Winged Angel new? Im into it.

@FredsBodyDouble i understand. Just hope for maybe a nice music selection to be included with Sephiroth. Maybe SE gave in and we get a nice bundle of music, maybe with a few non-FFVII tracks as well. Best we can do is hope. ☺️

@clvr thank youuu 🙈. Thats just how i've always been, trying to see the positive side, though some people can test my enduring patience lol.

My character wishlist and who i think is gonna happen are very different. Personally i'm hoping for:
1. Rex
2. At least one more "legacy" third party character. Someone like a Crash Bandicoot, or Laura Croft.
3. One more retro character resurrection. One of those Takamaru era characters that could get a modernization. Or Geno.

What I think is gonna happen:
1. New Pokemon rep from Sword/Shield.
2. Big third party character like Master Chief or a Fortnite character (Fortnite is huge here in japan, especially during the pandemic).
3. Surprise Zelda newcomer.

@Severian yes, but i don't think people realize just how many action/horror/sci-fi video game, tv and movie protagonists use some kind of sword.

@clvr exactly. And thank you for your positivity. I think a lot of people don't realize that there is no such thing as a Smash fanbase. Its literally dozens of fan groups brought together. Even if we don't personally want a character, we can try to see why they were chosen and be happy for the people that ard3 excited. And hey, new stage and music. Yay

@clvr i kinda agree, but i could think of at least three really solid reasons as to why Sephiroth was chosen. I'd just say wait until knowing the stage and music in the pack and it my make it more enticing for you.

@Marioracer tbh, the fact that sonic already has two stages and tons of music and spirits, Sega might not have ever requested another Sonic character and put their focus into the Persona stuff.
