The Japanese release is still a way off.

I live in Japan and have been wanting to play this game for a while. I'm excited, since there are so many western indie games that never get a release here (still waiting for VVVVVV). Until recently Nintendo didn't even give games that did get a release much promotion (the bit in the latest Direct was a surprise).

Now, my question: in the tags it just has the WiiU listed, but isn't this also on the 3ds? I only have a 3ds and want to play this game. Plus, even though the WiiU audience is growing, having it on both will give the game more chance to succeed and push for more games like this to get released here.

Geeze @erv and @AVahne when people want to be negative they take it to an extreme. Can't you just let everyone enjoy this?

I love this. It looks like his smashes and aerials cover a larger area.

@darkswabber it would be really difficult to I think with how spaced out the characters releases are. Plus I'm sure not even Nintendo knows at this point how many characters they are going to add since its so early.

Let me just speak as a Mother 3 fan (live in Japan and speak Japanese and own an actual copy of the game), I'm absolutely elated and I couldn't be happier. Its an amazing game and I'm glad it has more recognition in the overall Nintendo canon. Even if you don't like Lucas, be happy for those that do.

This game came out a long time ago. Nintendo produced a lot of copies, they were starting to be sold at a budget price, and in Japan at least were offered as a free giveaway in a promotion last year.

By this time if you didn't get to game you can't get mad at Nintendo for the now short supply.

Currently the game is still in stock in Japan. It might just be a regional issue or a temporary issue.

Apparently his stepping down was also partially due to disparaging transphopic comments he had been making.

For those in NA that are upset, don't be mad at the company as a whole, be mad at NoA. NoE and Nintendo Japan gave proper notice.

Guys, the thing that the article doesn't say is that this price is insanely expensive even for Japanese standards. For a 5 year old movie to cost as much as a newly released DVD or a game with no special features is crazy. I can't see anyone buying this way.

BTW the two FFXIV tracks are free until January 6 in Japan.

Releasing Zero from Bump of Chicken will really increase awareness of them outside of Japan. They're a really good band.

@Tsurii897 Umm, I think you're mistaken. Japan is getting these as well (all the Nintendo ones at least). What was created to replace the JUMP DLC are Square-Enix inspired materials designed by Tetsuya Nomura though its rumored that Japan might get these as well, just at a later date.

Edit: Okay it does seem like the Street Fighter stuff is western exclusive as well, for now at least. All of the Nintendo stuff, as well as the Sonic and Megaman costumes are released in Japan.

@Drawdler I'm sure soon. I actually still don't really understand the whole amiibo thing but I'm hoping to try it out.

@StarDust4Ever How do you force a 3DS into GBA mode. I've been hoping for a rerelease of Mother 3 so I can play it on my 3DS (it would increase Lucas chances for returning to Smash as well). My DS is so old and dusty.

I'd be interested to know if the London or Paris Metro cards had that function. The NY, Shanghai and Korean cards are so much thinner than the Japanese ones.

Do other countries have a mass use transportation card system with a chip in it like the IC cards in Japan (like Suica, Icoca, or Pitapa). I've used the NY metro cards, as well as cards in Korea and Shanghai (Shanghai specific, doubt it would be usable in other places like Peking).

In Japan we can use the IC cards for so many things other than transportation. I use it shopping a lot. It will be nice to have the option to use it on my 3DS.

The Smash update can't be far away.

@JeffreyG Really? I haven't joined in all of the amiibo fun yet since I only have a 3DS.

@DiscoGentleman Use tumblr everyday. It really depends on the type of people you associate with and the types of blogs you follow. I like it though. There's a looot of Smash content floating around. Hilarious Vines as well.

@Pod You're actually serious. Thats insane. If you're going to pick things to take a stance on there are a lot more pressing issues out there in the world. If a little thing like DLC is going to ruin an entire game for you then you are probably better off doing something else anyway.

Just checked the Japanese Smash page. It officially states that Mewtwo will be paid DLC here as well.

@RaphaBoss Or the opposite. That's why exclusive portable gaming is such a trend in Japan. Some of us really can't deal with a big bulky piece of hardware that needs a TV to work. I don't own a computer and I don't even remember the last time I actually used my TV. A huge parw of my gaming happens on the train or at a hotel.

I just ordered mine, should be delivered to me by tomorrow (Japanese mail is usually quick). I got the Monster Hunter 4G pack.

This sounds like parody more than anything. They can set a signature amount to whatever they want, but really what would 1000 signatures do for anything. And citing US antitrust law? Neither Nintendo nor Sony are American companies, this game was funded and created solely in Japan, and even so, Sony is not the one bringing up this issue, some random fan is. Actually I feel like whoever is calling out Nintendo, even if it is a half-hearted joke, should be careful about trying to bring up claims they don't understand.

Anyway, if other companies aren't making these sort of games, thats on them. And btw, Sony does publish cross-franchise brawlers.

Western WiiU owners, please buy this game so we can continue to get good third party support on Nintendo consoles!

From what I read, there doesn't seem to be the implication of a new character or mode reveal, only that they will be featuring information about the new characters and modes in the game, similar to Corocoro.

They're going to play the game and share their impressions.

There is absolutely no news about the 3ds version in Japan.

For longtime loyal 3ds owners who don't have a WiiU, this is great news.

Itoi isn't the only one doing this, although he is doing it independently of anyone else. Popular band Tokio has been appearing in commercial advertising vegetables from Fukushima prefecture.

I really feel bad for him. He mostly spends his time writing his wellness and alifestyle column on his website, as well as writing essays on philosophy.
