@MegaVel91 Correct, but its long been rumored and insiders have recently restated their firm belief this is the case. Either way unless theres a leak of some sort we wont know until january
@edcomics the problem is the short lifespan of smash 4 since it came out near the end of the WiiU, and the Switch wont be backwards compatible. It extends smash 4's life on current gen consoles and keeps it relavent and fresh, especially now that Sakurai is likely done with the series and the future of smash, at least a full on new entry is uncertain. An updated port is the best idea for now to have a smash on the new console.
I wouldn't say the word "doubt" and western release for this game in the same breath. The MH team has been very good to western Monster Hunter fans even if they aren't the main focus for the series.
@damien or its for the 3ds but you didnt entertain that. Just like your "oh no the Nintendo Switch wili be partially a portable machine even though its mainly a home console and it doesn't have touch screen but in our article picture we're just going to have DS and 3ds game in it" article. Maybe actually wait for full confirmation before you start to lead the conversation away from platforms and methods of gaming before you start taking a stance yourselves.
I firmly believe that a 3ds successor will come eventually, but either way there's still a lot of great games coming out for it in the next few months. Its not dead yet guys, no need to mourn it.
@retro_player_22 people complaining about the touch screen on the WiiU and lamenting it not being on the Switch are two things that might not be related. You're shouting into the void remember? Those might be two separate groups of people.
@Expa0 theres rumours going around based on a Japanese tweet released today that an actual 3ds successor is coming out in a couple of years but its not 100% confirmed yet. Other game sites have written up articles about it. Im just going to wait until i see confirmation but nothing i see points to the 3ds being done away with. The Switch is a home console that can go portable, that doesn't mean it is also THE portable console.
@readyletsgo there's been talk that the Switch is a replacement for the WiiU only and that it is NOT the successor to the 3ds and that will not be even close to coming around for a while. I repeat, the Switch is NOT taking over for the 3ds.
A lot of people are doubting this story since the game hasn't been released officially anywhere in South America. Also he was at what would basically be a prep and training camp for the olympics, and wouldn't have had the long free usage of his phone, let alone for using it to play a game,
@Nintendude789 Wait, are X-scape and X Returns the same thing? The sequel to X? Its a bit expensive but i watched the trailer on the e-shop and it looks fun.
So even after the shop closes down, all of the games will still be available through the 3ds e-shop? I've been looking throat the DSi library, and most don't seem that great, but games like X Returns definitely look worth a try.
I seriously doubt it will actually be released this week, but @Damien, the big reason that Nintendo and The Pokemon Company might start the game in Japan sooner than later: summer break for all the kids starts tomorrow.
@fikriharish just wanted to let you guys know that at least in the Japanese version, its not Kyle Hyde. The story takes place in urban Japan with all Japanese characters. The lead looks very much like Kyle Hyde though.
@arekdougy im really hoping we get more of those. They were so fun. I know they tried to make that 3DS LoS game inspired by the DS installments but it just felt so lifeless and boring.
Guard wasn't mentioned in the article. With people selling their copies of Zero, are they traditionally in guard as well? I heard a lot of people likes SFG as its own separate thing.
I love the realistic character designs in this game so much more than the overly exaggerate designs of the second game. And the female designs that i've seen so far aren't overly sexual which is a nice change. Realistically if i'm trying to get into a game that is about trying to escape a flooding or burning room, two tons of polygon cleavage is going to really take me out of the experience.
I do wish more amiibo were compatible outside of the 10 characters that are in. Some of the amiibo like Mario and Donkey Kong have so many things they can do over so many games, while others really don't get the same love. This feels likewa game that could have expanded its scope a bit to some other first party characters.
@Hey-Cha-La its an interesting mix. It looks like an old Square Rpg but plays like survival horror. Very much a part of the whole RPG Maker indie horror games like Yume Nikki or Ao Oni.
Guys, i know its frustrating that the NA release was announced but the EU/AU versions havent, but some of you are being a bit dramatic. Xseed has a very good reputation for making sure its international releases hit as many markets as possible.
@rjejr that does seem to be an appeal tactic, I hadn't noticed that. I believe the demo I played was all or nearly all of the first chapter, and the characters weren't sexualised at all.
@ralizah I think he means the art style, but most of the games in the series use sprites. The game is quality though, rest assured.
The Smash 4 NX version has been a long running rumour, and with the long and arduous development time, as well as dual versions, being the game with the largest amiibo support, large amount of DLC, and coming out so close to the end of the WiiU cycle, it would make sence to release a "complete" or expanded remastered version that builds on it, rather than a new game that would replace Smash 4 and end this generation of Smash so early. Main development on Smash 4 technically just ended in February, and with balance patches is still ongoing.
Please be Kyle Hyde, please please please. I loved those games and would be very happy with a revival. E-shop exclusives are the perfect way to continue the series if budget and hard copy distribution are a concern.
@thomas I'm not sure about that your humor in the article, but people that don't speak Japanese might think that story you said about her throwing herself in the pit on purpose was what actually happened, which it wasn't.
@Ryu_Niiyama it wasn't WWII, because there have always been shooters and war and espionage games in Japan, and in recent years games like CoD have a niche fan base here. I think that around that time, post 9/11 (and with Japan being sort of involved in America's " war on terror" there was a lot of sensitivity about those subjects here. It might have just been a case of bad timing more than anything else. If made now I doubt there'd be an issue, but it's never gotten a real release here.
@MadAdam81 yeah, I don't get it, but horse racing is popular here. Totally random.

@Riderkicker why are you even here?
Re: Talking Point: What We'd Like To See In Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch
@rjejr thats the problem. The WiiU actually had some great games in its short lifespan, but most of them came in the latter half of it.

Again guys, i really don't think this is ending the 3ds... i don't see Nintendo doing away with a full portable system.
Re: Say Hello to the Nintendo Switch, a New Concept for Gaming
I feel like the 3ds will still stick around for a good while and the Switch won't replace a solely portable gaming system for Nintendo.
