Re: Nintendo Is Making Female Characters Cover Up For The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X

Tsuchinoko

If you're arguing over censorship in this case and want them to not change the outfit, think about why an underaged girl, and I don't care if she's 13 or 15, needs to be sexualized anyway. And I don't care if she's a fictional character. These characters are made to be representations of people, and if game creators and those that consume their products sexualize the character then chances are they do the same to the real thing. If you want to make a sexy character, 18+ is a very easy age to chose. There's no reason to make them so young.

I don't mind a fictional character being scantily clad or whatever, but at 13 or 15 its inappropriate.

And before anyone tries to say its a cultural thing, I live in Japan, and underaged girls being sexualized in media and art is a problem.

Re: Review: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash (3DS)

I think what a lot of reviews are leaving out is that since Chibi-robo is travelling the world in this game, he collects snacks as treasures. I m playing the Japanese version, and while many westerners know what a Tootsie-pop is, Japanese kids would not. Its a nice little bit of foreign culture that the kids get to discover. Its not just blatent product placement. I don't know if all versions introduce snacks from around the world but I think kids would be really interested in that. Plus it tells the year it was created and country of origin. Its actually charming.

And besides that, the game is actually fun and cute. Its not going to revolutionize the industry, but its a pretty decent game and I'd recommend it.

Re: Mega Man amiibo Supported In Mega Man Legacy Collection

@readyletsgo I guess so. Maybe I'm over thinking it. I was curious as to why I hadn't heard a lot of Nintendos involvement at TGS outside of HW, but I kinda get it now.

Who knows though. Maybe they'll have a surprise announcement that will blow all of those endless anime, dating sims, and Dynasty Warriors and Nobunaga style games away (really thats all there is, oh and one horse racing game).

Re: Mega Man amiibo Supported In Mega Man Legacy Collection

@readyletsgo no problem. Yeah the company is in a weird transition period. It would be nice if they had some visibility, but at least they are making an appearance at TGS.

Its going to be very sony and smartphone heavy, but I looked over the scheduled games that are going to have presentations and its really like, hmmm, not sure how to express this. Basically the same three genres of games cover all twenty or so titles I saw. Hyrule Warriors has the Tecmo Koei connection but it still stands out a lot.

The majority of those titles don't really seem to have cross cultural appeal, and I live in Japan and I was still a little surprised by it.

Maybe someone else can look it up and tell me Im not being totally crazy in my observation.

Re: Nintendo Is Licensing Hudson Soft IP From Konami

I love Momotaro Dentetsu. Its a very long running series here in Japan with lots of fans. To a lot of people this is a pretty big deal and there have been many of these released on Nintendo consoles. I was sad when I thought the series died. Glad Nintendo is giving it life.

Re: Rumour: Could Female Link Be In Hyrule Warriors On 3DS?

Tsuchinoko

@Omenapoika exactly. Though I kinda like having the character to be decided up to a point, including appearance and gender. Even though I'm open to a female Link, I would rather she be either a separate character or a specific incarnation of Link. I'd rather not turn this into an avatar situation with a customizable protagonist.

Re: Rumour: Could Female Link Be In Hyrule Warriors On 3DS?

Tsuchinoko

@Tsurii oh wow, I had no idea. But was this just an idea the Zelda team were throwing around, or was it specifically for Hyrule Warriors?

And about the gender-swapping, I guess I have an unusual opinion about that for Zelda. There are many versions of Link. Although sometimes the same Link has appeared in multiple games, most of the time its different people. And each time his relationship to Zelda is different. Maybe there could be a female link who is Zelda's best friend or sister?

Anyway, having a kid sister type to Link that similar to him would be cute. It would be nice to see the regular Zelda cast grow.

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Gets a Wii U Stretch Goal

Tsuchinoko

The goal is very attainable. The kickstarter has been gaining steadily. In the past five or six days they completed 200,000 worth of stretchgoals. It seems like they have a huge amount of money to raise for the WiiU version, put people are really throwing their money at this game.

Edit: forgot to say the main campaign page doesn't show the additional money they've been receiving through paypal.
