Physical are pointless if you if there is no physical game.

You can buy empty Switch boxes online for cheap and photo print the covers anyway.
I did so in the past for a few digital games.

Wii U got 1080p remasters of both games.
I bought both of them like 10-12 years ago on physical.

When they ship to Norway, they have to remove local Tax, before adding 25%.
Adding 25% tax were the only extra cost in Norway since January 2023 or so.

PS5 Pro have insane pricing in same countries.
900$ or something.
Switch 2 cost nearly the same as Rog Ally and Legion Go in these countries which is insane.

Consoles are even more expensive in Australia than Scandinavia including PC Handhelds.

Nintendo owe a lot to Bergsala.

I bought 2 x NVIDIA Shield TV's back in 2015 and still use both in 2025. None of them ever failed.
After 10 years they are still the best media boxes, because they are still getting upgrades.

Remove the 70% of shovelware to speed up the shop as the library will be 70% smaller.

Wii U online games supported headset with Mic like other consoles.

@Joeynator3000 Shops are slow and clunky on all consoles, because none of them is as fast as a web browser.

The cache is limited on consoles so it will reset the cache now and then so you need to stream all icons etc. again frequently.

This wouldn't have been much of a problem if consoles had a web browser with a permanent 5.GB cache for it.

Nintendo finally got voice chat after 30 years, and now you need a cell phone to make it easy to join friends in games?

I thought only Sony still had the 1990's mentality, but i guess the same goes for Nintendo.

Meanwhile i upgraded my old Switch with Hall Effect Sticks only 2 hours ago.

My Legion Go PC Handheld have Hall Effect sticks and Switch can't be any different there.

I bought both HD Zelda's on physical for Wii U on release so i'm fine.

When Nintendo add them to online sub, it means they won't care about the upgraded Wii U versions anymore.

They wanna push the sales of the most expensive online sub instead.

Switch 2 won't fail, but won't get the Switch success either.
Especially not because it's the most anti consumer console ever made since 3DO and Apple Pippin launched.
3DO wasn't really anti consumer. It's just that the console cost 3 times as much as SNES or so.

Neo Geo pricing were an exception, because it had 1:1 versions of Arcade versions at home and the whole game library were Neo Geo exclusive, except for Puzzle Bobble perhaps.
Puzzle Bobble on Neo Geo were by far better than on other systems anwyay.

Nintendo selling fake Switch 2 physicals do it for only one reason.
When the upgrade is activated, the physical is nothing more than a Switch 1 game.

If people sell Switch 2 physicals, they won't get the Switch 2 upgrade without paying for it again.

Sony already did the same trick with some disc games on PS3 to decrease the used sales value of games.

I know why Nintendo will sell these fake Switch 2 physicals.

If you sell the game, the next owner need to pay for the Switch 2 upgrade as the key will only work one time.

It's kind of like PS VITA physicals.
Trophies were disabled when you sold the game.

As for PS3 + VITA combo disc. As soon as you enabled it once, VITA version were disabled for the next person using same disc.
Some PS3 games had Disc with one time unlocks.

I guess Nintendo learned this from Sony and EA.
Sony and EA were the first to do this for physicals.

Lenovo were much smarter than Nintendo with this.

• Lenovo added 2 extra proper mouse buttons in the right Gyro controller.
• The same Gyro also have mousepad.
• The Handheld included a table mouse adapter for the Gyro at no extra cost.

Nintendo ignored these 3 things when they copied Legion Go Gyro.
They copied Lenovo and yet they ignored their major features.

Nintendo didn't understand Lenovo because they are a console company and Lenovo is a PC company.
You need a PC company to include 2 mouse's in one gyro done right.

My PC Handheld Legion Go have hall effect sticks unlike other PC handhelds.

It's just a cooler looking dust collector.

I played it on PC and it isn't a demanding game. It easily runs on weaker hardware.

Why couldn't they just use a home screen with folders like Wii U?

Even 3DS and PS VITA had similar home screens as Wii U even on their small screens.

Switch 2 have 2-3 times as big screen as 3DS and yet it's almost empty vs 3DS.

I already had Cyberpunk 2077 installed on my Legion Go Handheld since 2023.
Runs at 55-60 FPS, but 100 FPS if i enable Lossless Scaling.

This will be known as the most greedy console reveal in history.

Nintendo set a new benchmark for greed, and Sony will follow Nintendo instead of competing with lower prices.

Are you sure the code won't be locked to your account, like Sony did with a bunch of discs in the past on PS3, so they couldn't be used on a different console?

It were also revealed today that a lot of games won't be stored on physical carts.

The carts will only store a license key to download the game to a SD card....
Add SD card prices on top of high game prices.

They are also making a secret Xbox / PC game and Microsoft is funding it.

It's a game they always wanted to make, but never got to make without funding.

@DanElectrode Wind Waker HD have several problems vs the original and is not just a HD version.
They added some new features too i think and it also supports inventory on touch screen.

I'm glad i bought both of these HD Zelda's physical on Wii U on release.

If it were Xbox games the upgrades would have been free...

It's 2 completely different series, made by 2 different developers. It's many years between each one.

• They spent 7 years on making Forza 8.

Mario Kart 9 won't fail at all. They are guaranteed to earn money on it.
It probably won't sell MK 8 numbers. Selling less than MK 8 doesn't make it a failure.

I own Mario Kart Live too.
When i bought it at 50% off on sale, only Luigi version were available so i got that one.

Mario Kart Live wasn't made or invented by Nintendo at all, but the developer of Knockout City.
Velan Studios... The same brothers who founded Visceral Games in 1991.

They made a Mario Kart Live prototype before Nintendo knew about it's existence...
Nintendo wanted it after seeing it.

Velan's newest game sadly bombed hard, because it's a Sony exclusive.

It won't happen, because the Xbox 360 hack is incompatible with anything else than Xbox consoles.

Microsoft won't port any last gen release to Switch anyway.
It will only get ports from Xbox Series S.

I don't think the game will be released a third time as there are no reason to.

When you start Switch version on Switch 2, you automatically get 60 FPS.
That's probably it.

They will probably patch in 60 FPS on Zelda Tears etc. too. on existing version for free.

I know Nintendo is greedy, but i doubt they will sell 60 FPS patches.
