I was on a 2 hour long concert with David Wise, Grant Kirkhope etc. as a band a few months ago.
They played only Rare songs like Banjo Kazooie, Jet Force Gemini etc. and also "Gonky Gong Rap".
It isn't legal to cover Donkey Kong Rap, so they had to sing
Gangkey Gong instead
Nintendo is suing even the original composer if he mention Donkey Kong.
@Mando44646 Yeah, but Switch 1 was different times and Nintendo changed since then. They charge 90-100$ for all first party games here and Switch 2 cost nearly the same as the powerful Rog Ally and Legion Go PC Handhelds. 680$. It's only about money for Nintendo now.
Anyways. Forza Horizon 5 would work fine on Switch 2 and here is why. It's one of the most scalable games ever. It even works on a PC without GPU. It was also released on the Xbox One from 2013. A Switch 2 port would be easy for this giant game.
@Fiq_Strife They can't release it on Switch 2 because of Pokemon and Mario Kart. It would only sell 1000 copies, so it's not worth it.
Mario Kart always prevented third parties from releasing good racing games on Nintendo consoles.
Electronic Arts released around 20 Need for Speed games.
Why do you think they always skipped Nintendo? MARIO KART sabotaged NFS before it was even released on a Nintendo console.
Wii U got NFS Most Wanted and it flopped hard, because Wii U owners only wanted Mario Kart 8.
What i'm saying is. Stop buying recycled Pokemon and Mario Kart games if you want third party support.
Forget good games on Switch if people only want Mario Kart and Pokemon.
Since when did Reggie move to a cave?
If i were Microsoft i wouldn't release anything on Switch 2 the next 5 years.
Why would Microsoft support a console for people who only care about Pokemon and Nintendo games?
Cyberpunk flopped on Switch 2 because people only want Pokemon.
Sony's Lego Horizon completely flopped on Switch too.
Microsoft and Sony have nothing that can compete with Pokemon, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong and is why they ignore Nintendo.
Pokemon prevented Nintendo from getting good third party support since 1990's.
Nintendo 64 sold 45 millions, and yet the console got 95% less support than PS1.
Why? Pokemon Stadium and Zelda prevented third party games from selling on the console.
@vio
The reason why Wii U got them is because it used PowerPC which was similar to the one in Xbox 360, making it easy to port games to Wii U.
It was much easier to port games to Wii U than Switch.
@AccessibleDaydream People have explained many times here why a port is too complicated and too expensive. And besides, Switch 2 is too weak to emulate Xbox One.
MS won't port Halo MCC anymore either way, because there is more money by releasing one by one game from the 6 in the collection. Halo 1 being the first. The rest will be out by year 2032-2040.
A month ago Microsoft revealed their new multiplatform save sync for everything. It's for made for developers as the support have to be added in the games.
Xbox, Steam UBI, Epic, GOG, EA, BattleNet etc.
I don't see why Nintendo and Sony have to give permission for this.
FH 5 sold 2.5 millions the first week alone on Xbox and that does not include the massive sales of Steam PC version. It sold over 10 millions the first year, 4 years ago.
This game wouldn't exist if Microsoft didn't offer to fund it and pay Platinum to make it.
Microsoft haven't announced one single game for Switch 2 yet.
Probably because they know it's hard to sell games on a Nintendo console, when Nintendo's own games will always sabotage sales of third party games
HI-FI Rush, Hellblade 2, Gears of War, Pentiment etc. flopped hard on PS5 even with 80 million consoles on the market.
Microsoft lost money on all these ports.
Console CPU's was bottlenecked since SNES and MegaDrive.
MegaDrive only had a 68000 CPU, because the 68030 version of the CPU still cost 500$ when the console launched.
68020 was also too expensive for MegaDrive.
SNES had upgrade in carts, but Starfox still only ran at 15 FPS. Imagine how Starfox would run on a standard SNES CPU.
PS1 had a terrible Temu CPU.
Nintendo 64 CPU was faster, but it was still a slow CPU.
UE 5 is a engine for 4-5000$ PC's, so i don't understand why developers would use it for PC and consoles.
Every time some developer reveal that their game uses UE 5, people cancel pre-orders and a bunch of others refuse to buy the game until it gets a 75% discount.
@OrtadragoonX
Wrong. People get 100 FPS on PC in it's current state.
The worst version is PS5 Pro, because it performs worse than PS5 and Series X.
All console versions have a memory leak, so you have to restart the game frequently.

@Mando44646 It's a very demanding UE 5 open world game, so it's unlikely it will run on Switch 2.
In latest news today.
According to Tom Warren at The Verge Nintendo never sent any development kits to Microsoft.
Nintendo don't want any Xbox games on Switch 2.
Nintendo look at Forza Horizon 5 as a threat to Mario Kart and is probably why.
Re: Reggie Is "Surprised" We Haven't Seen More Xbox Titles On Switch 2
@datamonkey
Call of Duty doesn't exist on Switch, because they don't know how to shrink 200 GB down to 64 GB while keeping decent graphics.
Why doesn't Switch 2 support SSD already?
The only Nintendo console ever to not have any storage limitations was Wii U.
Wii U got 2 day 1 Call of Duty releases. Ghosts and Black Ops 2.
Wii U not only had games on Blu-Ray discs, but it also supported 2 x SSD's and HDD's at the same time at launch for unlimited game storage.
Wii U is the only Nintendo console ever that could have all purchased games installed at the same time.

Those COD games are way too old to be ported.

Both of them was very good ports with Wii U Exclusive features.

Yeah.
Rare Replay physical have been sold for 5$ in bargain bins for a decade.

@jojobar You are the naive one here.
Check the benchmark videos at Digital Foundry and other places.
The Switch 2 carts is extremely slow in all tests.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Switch 2 Rating Spotted Online
Here is why AC Shadows can't run from cart.
Switch 2 flash carts is slower than a 20 year old SDD.
They can only read at 400 MB/s.
What were Nintendo thinking?
AC Shadows needs minimum 1000MB/s speed for world streaming, so it's obvious why it cant run from the extremely slow Nintendo carts.
Re: Bandai Namco Is Shutting Down Another Pac-Man Battle Royale Game On Switch

This sounds like the "good old" Namco.

Namco sold the tracks and cars as overpriced DLC instead, so the game cost 100$ or so.

Acclaim IP's was sold left and right, so what do they have left?
There is no way they will get back Turok from Disney for example.
If Midway is revived, they have no IP's either.
Microsoft bought Hydro Thunder and i think Warner Games bought the rest.
What's fascinating is that the revived Microprose still owned most of their IP's except for the Sid Meier ones.
Cinemaware still owned 100% of their IP's after 20 years of being gone.
