Re: Video: Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S Shows Off Nintendo Switch 2 Camera Support

Toastmaster

The only time i ever used a camera online in game were in "Burnout Paradise" on Xbox 360.

I remember when a Japanese dude won over me in a online match.
He sent me a picture of his hairy butt to me in game as the picture on his driving license. lol

When you won in Burnout you had 5 seconds or so to a take picture of anything you wanted and send it to the opponent...

It's better to cancel it than getting 3/10 review scores on average and ruin the series reputation.

They shouldn't have announced VF.
It should have been made it in secret and be cancelled it in secret if needed.

Don't forget Metroid Prime 4 would have been cancelled if they didn't try to make it a second time.

A lot of bad games in general were released even when they should have been cancelled during development.

The reason why most AAA developers skipped Switch, were because it used a media box chip from year 2014.

The chip were designed for 4K/60 video streaming, not gaming.

It's Nintendo's fault for not putting a chip dedicated for games in Switch.
When you put a video chip inside a console, you will miss out on most AAA games.

Blame Nintendo, not Codemasters.

Re: Rumour: Iconic Studio Codemasters May Soon Close For Good

Toastmaster

@Bunkerneath Yep, they are legendary.

I can't understand why anyone would wanna be bought by EA.
Everyone should already know that they will get shut down.

There are so many other publishers to choose from that don't shut down developers left and right.

Shutting down Codemasters will make EA reputation worse again.

Re: Rumour: Iconic Studio Codemasters May Soon Close For Good

EA Killed off more key developers from AMIGA.
Bullfrog, Westwood, Maxis and more.
Bullfrog are still my favorite studio ever as they made unique innovative games.
Populous, Syndicate, Powermonger, Theme Park, Dungeon Keeper, Magic Carpet and more.

I still own all Bullfrog physicals from AMIGA and PC with paper manuals etc. I also own all Maxis physicals from AMIGA and PC, except for anything with "The Sims".

Innovative Maxis were my second favorite.

Maxis are still alive, but still died 25 years ago.
Ignoring Spore, Maxis more or less made The Sims for 25 years.
So yes, EA killed off Maxis too.

People think the grass are always greener on the other side, but it often isn't.
I were one of the few who liked Iwata's way of running things back then.

Nintendo fans in general never liked Iwata and wanted him replaced.
He sure were replaced good, by someone who think the opposite of Iwata.

Re: Nintendo Updates Its User Agreement To Crack Down On Emulation

Toastmaster

@Jeronan Thank you
Iwata were the only good boss Nintendo ever had.
Yamauchi were famous for being ruthless etc.
He also prevented games from going on sale in 1990's in Europe.
I think Nintendo got a huge fine for preventing competition between stores in 1990's including N64 games.

Also, Nintendo wouldn't charge AAA prices on low budget AA games if Iwata still were the boss.
Even games that cost 30 on physical for Wii U, cost 60 as digital on Switch up to 10 years after original release. Makes no sense.

Nintendo isn't only hostile to customers.
Is there any week of the year Nintendo don't have a new lawsuit in news?

When Iwata were the boss, Metroid Prime Trilogy were sold for 10 bucks on Wii U on sale. Only 20 were full price.
You probably heard about all the benefits on Wii U before.

Wii U.

What happened between Wii U and Switch 1+2?
Their Pro consumer boss Iwata passed away...

Re: Nintendo Updates Its User Agreement To Crack Down On Emulation

Toastmaster

@Jeronan Yes. It won't work in Europe at all as it's illegal.

I guess Norway and Germany will join forces vs Nintendo again...
Norwegian consumer protection keeps track of every anti consumer things Nintendo does.
They are always on their radar.

Nintendo always had to bow for the 5 year warranty on consoles too. Costs nothing.

Re: Nintendo Updates Its User Agreement To Crack Down On Emulation

@NinjaWaddleDee

More from the new user agreement from Nintendo...

If there is a new drifting scandal on Switch 2 for example, it will no longer be possible to to sue Nintendo alone, or in a group with others.

If you have a Nintendo account, you are not allowed to sue Nintendo anymore in any way.

Wait until EU Commition and Trump hear about Nintendo's new user agreement...

Re: Nintendo Defends Switch 2's Perceived Lack Of Innovation

Toastmaster

Innovation are only a thing in the PC Handheld market nowadays as these big PC companies can afford to gamble.
They know they will sell enough anyway. Even if less than 1 million.

We live in a time where handheld's only need to sell like 500.000-1 million to justify a new upgraded model every year.

Looking at the bright side.

UBI are struggling to fix their reputation at snail speed.
They added Steam Achievements on up to 15 year old games on PC lately. Probably over 30 old games so far.
All you already earned in the past decades unlocks automatically.

The Crew 2 and Crew Motorfest are both upgraded to work 100% offline.
Those games were online only and that hurt the sales.

Maybe they are doing more at the moment to please people.

@TheFatPlumber
Stop posting lies. Rare always had free will and said so themselves.
If it were up to Microsoft, a new Banjo would have been made a decade ago.
It's RARE who refuses to make Banjo, not Microsoft.

Rare refused to make Killer Instinct, Battletoads, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye 2023 too, so Microsoft had to find someone else to make them ALL.
Again, blame it all on Rare. Not MS who wants their IP's revived.

Get your facts straight.

Re: Opinion: Switch 2 Finally Gives Star Wars Outlaws A Second Chance

Toastmaster

There is a 4 hour long demo on PC and i tried it recently.

The game graphics are so bad it looks like a launch game for last gen consoles over 10 years ago.
The gameplay is generic.

It's not even close to the Star Wars games from Respawn.

Maybe EA will port their 2 Star Wars SP games to Switch 2.
It's not too late as they haven't aged like Outlaws did already.

@Thomystic
I know.
They showed gameplay from it almost 1 year ago in the Xbox Showcase.
It looked great and evolved like it should be.

Crystal Dynamics is a great developer, so there is hope.

Rare lost most of their people since 1990's and they went to several other studios.

I meet people from Rare every year to get their games signed.
Majority of them refuse to sign N64 games, because they didn't work on them.

Grant Kirkhope, David Wise, Ken Lobb and some were among the few that could sign most of my games including N64.

My "Rare Replay" Xbox physical are the only release everyone at Rare can sign.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

@8bit-Man
Yeah.

"Toys for Bob" are making a secret Xbox game.
There is a small chance it's Banjo as it's kind of the style of games they make.
There is a Xbox showcase in June.
Who knows what will be revealed there.

Rare themselves refuse to touch any old IP and make any sequel. Their next game is Everwild. After that one, the next will be a new IP too.
Their only sequel last 25 years were Perfect Dark 2006 and it wasn't that good as the original people wasn't involved.
The people who made the original PD quit from Rare while they still were under Nintendo in 1990's.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

Toastmaster

@MirrorFate2

Anyways.
Microsoft have said several times they can't hire the wrong developer to make a Banjo game as it would flop before it even released.
"Toys for Bob" are making a secret Xbox game and no one have a clue what it is.
It could be Banjo for example as they only make games for kids.

Rare themselves refuse to touch any IP from Nintendo 64, or remake anything.
This is why Perfect Dark, Battletoads etc. were done by others.

Being forced to make a game you hate to make is a instant failure, and most people have no understanding at all on why Rare refuse to work as slaves.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

Toastmaster

@SalvorHardin

Correct. Banjo is overrated and the gameplay aged like milk even at 60 FPS.
Banjo and Yooka mechanics is a relic compared to modern platformers.

Banjo Kazooie is a AA Game at best today, and is why it's more likely that Microsoft will fund it when they find the right developer with a passion for it.

Sales isn't important for Banjo as it probably only need a budget of 30 millions or less.
The development cost will be covered by Game Pass money.

Even the 2025 Awoved RPG by Obsidian recovered the money mostly from Game Pass.
Microsoft care more about Game Pass sub money than sales.

Fun fact: Microsoft pay 15 millions every month to T2 just to have the 10 year old GTA 5 on Game Pass.

I'm sure the low budget needed for Banjo won't raise anyone's eyebrow.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

Toastmaster

@MirrorFate2

Do you ever read business news on business sites?
The consoles are irrelevant.

Xbox have increased the revenue every year, last 8 years and 2025 are expected to be at least 25-30% more than 2024.
`
How do you earn money without console sales?
As you claim, there have never been money in games...

If not with games, then why are Xbox business growing every year and will set a new record in 2025?

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Composer Explains Why He Thinks Another Game Is Unlikely

Toastmaster

First of all sales isn't that important, Game Pass sub money are also funding MS games.
Microsoft wants to make games in any genre including games that can be made in only 2-3 years.

Banjo Kazooie isn't a big budget game, so it's not unlikely it will happen.

Anyone ever heard of Netflix saying Blu-Ray funds their movies and tv series?
No? That's because they are funded by SUB money...
Game Pass like Netflix funds games with sub money.
