I haven’t played it yet so I can’t comment on the difficulty. However I did play Hollow Knight. I thought the difficulty for HK was just right at first. Tough bosses but after numerous play-throughs I was able to overcome all obstacles…until Team Cherry added all that extra content. Finishing the base game felt just right. However some of the bosses that were added afterwards were just too brutal for me.
I’m still about halfway through Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. After that, likely Death’s Gambit…although I also want to get Silksong but I’m still debating getting it for my Switch or wait until I eventually get a Switch2.
I found the buttons and analogue on the joycon just too small for me so the pro controller was a welcomed purchase. Not to mention the drift got out of hand with those too.
I’ll wait to see how they new joycons feel in my hands first before I decide to get a pro controller.
I would prefer for them to celebrate the anniversary by patching this game. Constant glitches where I’ve lost countless hours of progression, it’s just not worth it anymore.
Geez this looks a lot like Bo Path of the Teal Lotus (which I enjoyed). Glad to hear it’s quite different gameplay-wise. Might pick this up down the road.
Out of curiosity, are the new save states & rewind features also available when playing the OG Haunted Castle? If so, does it make the game more…umm…palatable?
I’ve been on a Metroidvania marathon lately. I’m currently playing Dandara for the first time.
I’m really digging it, but maaaaaaan it took a while for me to get the hang of the controls. Not used to playing a game that I can’t run or jump lol. Worth it though!
Oooooooooh this is exciting indeed! I loved both games. Hoping it’s DLC for the sequel since the first one had a few added which were all awesome and significantly improved the original game (IMO).
Tried the demo and I thought it was really beautiful but unfortunately quite boring. There’s zero combat in the demo (but I kinda assumed that from the trailer). It looks open world but I don’t think it is from what I played. You just float around collecting things like emeralds and pages from a journal. Demo does not explain anything, you just walk and float around with peaceful music and beautiful visuals. I didn’t know where to go or why (maybe that’ll be explained in the full game?). More of a very light platformer but I wasn’t a fan of the controls. There’s a delay in your jumps…which is fine I guess when you’re not in the middle of a difficult platforming section.
All in all, not for me but I’m glad there was a demo available.
The last Metroidvania I played was Iconoclasts and I have to admit I did not enjoy it very much.
The boss battles were well done but the gameplay otherwise was boring imo. The story itself was well done but most of it was conveyed through dialogue…lots and lots of dialogue (minimal cutscenes).
Add to the fact that you don’t have many upgrades and the tweaks were treated as an afterthought (which unfortunately are also the only things you are tasked to find through exploring)
I played both Twin Snakes and the original MGS on PS1 and I enjoyed both. Mind you, I didn’t play them back to back (& to be honest this was a long time ago).
I don’t know why I’m seeing comments that the original was vastly better. Could someone shed some light as to why the original was so much better than the twin snakes remake?
This looks really promising! Never heard of this game before. I’ve got a bunch of questions though about how to play a game like this…like for example how do you aim? Do you have to time your button press with the bike’s rotation? If I don’t land correctly is that instant death?
Well I’ve started Blasphemous 2 this weekend. So far I’m really digging it. I loved the first one so I guess it isn’t much of a surprise that I’m liking the second game.
Off the top of my head, I thought there were too many Rauru’s Blessings for shrines. It’s nice that they added more shrines but I found that for me at least, the last 15-20 shrines I found were almost all Rauru’s Blessings. Figuring out shrine puzzles is one of my favourite things in these new Zelda games.
Also….yeah I still miss the Hookshot/claw shot. Call me old fashioned.
Essentially anything related to the Depths. Looking back now, I didn’t approach this area the proper way.
Bad enough I never realized the correlation between Shrines and Lightroots, but I completely mishandled the whole Poe collecting aspect. I thought these were like Korok seeds, so I kept farming them and never realized what to do with them. By the time I finally figured out what to do with them, I had collected about 3000 of them.
So happy we got more info on this game. The first one was amazing, I can’t wait play the sequel. Challenging but fair, great music and some of the best pixel art I’ve seen in a while IMO. The devs added more free DLC to it so it’s even better now than originally released.

If it goes on sale (or if I find a used copy) then sure.

Re: Mega Man Is One Of Capcom's "Most Important IPs" Despite No New Games In 7+ Years
I personally would love to see MM as a celshaded FPS game. After playing Metroid Prime, I could totally see this for MM.

I’d like to see the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy added.

Ok. I don’t know if it’s the fact I saw this on my mobile phone or if it’s because my eyesight is poor but they both look identical to me.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Gets Surprise Mention By Xbox, Will It Finally Release This Year?
Hey, I want to see this game released as bad as the next gamer but can we please stop making articles based off pure speculation at this point?

Combination of these:
Switch: Prince of Persia The Lost Crown DLC
PS5: Black Myth Wukong
iPhone: Severed
Re: Talking Point: Where Should 'Luigi's Mansion 4' Take Place?
I don’t care so much where the game takes place. I just want them to bring back coop again (whether it’s Goo-uigi or some other form).

Are game trailers meant to give you motion sickness? Cuz maaaaaaan, this one did!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (16th November)
I’m currently playing the Blasphemous 2 DLC Mea Culpa.

Re: Hands On: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Delivers More Than Just A Hi-Def Upgrade
I’ve only played the third one so it looks like I’m playing these backwards lol.
Can you play this game as couch coop like the third one? I thinking maybe not since “Goo-igi” only appears in the third game…
My kids got a kick out of playing together through the game together on the same Switch.

@Polvasti its just a shame that a body of work gets overshadowed by this. No matter where you stand on the matter.

Why are we talking about SBI more than the game itself?
Re: Video: We've Played Tales Of Kenzera: ZAU - Here's 12 Minutes Of Switch Gameplay
Looks good. I’m getting PoP Lost Crown vibes from this.

@Jalex_64 thank you! Yeah I should have known that
Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?
@Ryu_Niiyama ah yes. I should have figured that out thank you. Loooong day lol
Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?
Since BotW came first, I feel that that game had a bigger impact on me. However TotK addressed almost every issue I had with BotW.
Mind you since I personally didn’t care for building stuff, I guess BotW wins for me by a very very small margin.
Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?
@Ryu_Niiyama I feel I should this but my brain is fried from a long day…what’s AoC?
Re: Doug Cockle Returns To Narrate The Bloodsoaked Trailer For Tails Of Iron 2

Re: Review: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown (Switch) - Slick, Stylish, And 2024's First Must-Play
@canaryfarmer wait…really? I downloaded the demo yesterday and it flat out wouldn’t let me play it unless I signed up.

Ugh I wish you didn’t have to sign up for an Ubisoft account just to play the demo. And you can’t skip it.

Now that I’m done with TotK and Blasphemous 2, I’ve decided to work on my backlog. So far my time is on Spider-Man Miles Morales.

Still playing the castlevania dlc of dead cells and teslagrad 2
Re: Blasphemous II Slashes Its Way Onto Switch This Summer
FYI I believe there used to be a demo for Blasphemous on the eShop for those of you who are on the fence about trying it out.

Re: Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Tomorrow, April 19th 2023
Still hoping to see something regarding Silksong or Blasphemous 2.
My dark horse guess/wish would be a Little Devil Inside announcement. It’s a long shot but a guy can still dream can’t he?
