Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero Is 10 Years Old - Have You Actually Played It?

I got as far as the level 1 boss then I stopped playing due to the horrible controls. It’s the only game that I can recall where I actually stopped playing due to poor controls. I still have no idea if this game gets boring or exciting, or if it’s considered easy or hard.

I dunno, maybe I should have given it more time but I just remember instantly hating the controls from the get go.

@RicebinBernacky I was going to post the exact same thing.

I just finished this game on master difficulty on PS5 and it was brutal. On normal difficulty it was still a challenge. Not an overly difficult game on normal, but definitely not an easy game at all. It might look easy because it looks like a Pixar movie but after a few boss fights you realize this ain’t a cake walk

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

The voice acting is fine. It was a little annoying to keep hearing him recap what I should be doing but it wasn’t as bad as other games (like Fi from Skyward Sword for example).

Honestly Myles was the least of my issues with this game. I’m not saying the game is bad but the issues I found with it weren’t related to overbearing NPCs.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

I haven’t played it yet so I can’t comment on the difficulty. However I did play Hollow Knight. I thought the difficulty for HK was just right at first. Tough bosses but after numerous play-throughs I was able to overcome all obstacles…until Team Cherry added all that extra content. Finishing the base game felt just right. However some of the bosses that were added afterwards were just too brutal for me.

Tried the demo and I thought it was really beautiful but unfortunately quite boring. There’s zero combat in the demo (but I kinda assumed that from the trailer). It looks open world but I don’t think it is from what I played. You just float around collecting things like emeralds and pages from a journal. Demo does not explain anything, you just walk and float around with peaceful music and beautiful visuals. I didn’t know where to go or why (maybe that’ll be explained in the full game?). More of a very light platformer but I wasn’t a fan of the controls. There’s a delay in your jumps…which is fine I guess when you’re not in the middle of a difficult platforming section.

All in all, not for me but I’m glad there was a demo available.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Metroidvania Games

The last Metroidvania I played was Iconoclasts and I have to admit I did not enjoy it very much.

The boss battles were well done but the gameplay otherwise was boring imo. The story itself was well done but most of it was conveyed through dialogue…lots and lots of dialogue (minimal cutscenes).

Add to the fact that you don’t have many upgrades and the tweaks were treated as an afterthought (which unfortunately are also the only things you are tasked to find through exploring)

Re: Best Metal Gear Games On Nintendo Systems

I played both Twin Snakes and the original MGS on PS1 and I enjoyed both. Mind you, I didn’t play them back to back (& to be honest this was a long time ago).

I don’t know why I’m seeing comments that the original was vastly better. Could someone shed some light as to why the original was so much better than the twin snakes remake?
