Athena...good God. What a frustrating NES game. Bad controls, items popping up on screen that I couldn't figure out what they did & a Tree Boss with the Mick Jagger lips.
Oooh, & jumping was done by pushing "up" on the d-pad. Sure hope I can map that to a button this time around.
YUSSS! I've been waiting to play this game again for years! I've played the console Punch Outs to death & I've longed for the arcade title that started it all. Gotta admit that the side-by-side aspect is gonna be jarring at first but whatever I still want it! I never finished it as a kid, but now I plan on rectifying that.
It would be nice if Nintendo sold replacement pre-cut cardboard without the software for a discounted price. I have to wonder how good can I recreate the original pre-cut cardboard if I have to make rebuild my Labo if it gets damaged? Even with the schematics provided, I know I'm not as precise as a machine. Some people can probably recreate these easily but not everybody is great at crafts. This RC car is one thing, but can I really recreate something as precise as the piano or god forbid that robot suit thing?
Does anyone know if you can play Nine Parchments with both local & online coop simultaneously? As in, playing in a team that consists of both local & online players?
I generally don't have problems with pointer controls...it's the motion controls I don't want. General aiming in Prime & RE4 was great...Zelda Awkward Sword, not so much.
My real gripe is the need to be constantly online to play. I can understand the need to be online for stuff like Toad Rally, but at the very least Tour mode should be made available offline.
I don't want to use my mobile data to play the game so I'm stuck playing at home (wi-fi). If I'm at home, I'd rather be console gaming...unless I'm in the bathroom.
So there you go, Super Mario Run is my bathroom break game at home...my $15 bathroom break game
Just got it last night. I haven't played much (got to 2nd boss) but I'm definitely liking what I'm seeing so far. I think it'll fill my Metroid void nicely until Nintendo finally releases a new one.
I am so happy I bought a HD Nintendo system so I could play games like this. I can understand the love for the old-school pixel art but it's getting to the point where the eShop is just flooded with these dollar games that, to me at least, shouldn't even be making it on the market in this day & age. Mind you, I am obviously making an observation from the little amount of screens shown, but you can't tell me that a game that looks like it's "borrowing" the NES Zelda sprites on a black background is giving you any inclination to buy? The original Zelda game looks much better than this...and I could pick it up on the eShop for not much more $ either.
Thank goodness for Nindies. There are a few promising titles here that I am definitely willing to try out. These 5 I believe I will be giving a go but there are others on this list that could convince me too:
Axiom Verge Jotun Soul Axiom Hollow Knight World to the West (really liked Teslagrad)
All of stage 4 in Super Castlevania 4! Whether it was the rotating room or, my fave, that spinning hallway. I know that sounds like such small things these days but back then that was impressive!
Having replayed Other M recently, I've come to appreciate that game a bit more than I did on my first playthrough. There are still some gameplay & story elements I wish were different but all in all I wouldn't call it a bad game.
I've been playing through as many Metroid games as I can to celebrate the anniversary. I started a few weeks ago going through Prime 1-2-3 as well as Other M. I'm taking a break before diving back into the older games (about to start Star Fox Zero). Not sure which one I should do next. I might give Zero Mission a go since I've never played it. It's a quasi-remake of Metroid 1, correct?
What's worse is that as much as I want to see footage & info on the new Zelda, I don't want to see too much. I'd rather experience it myself when I eventually play it. So technically, I only want to see about a few minutes of E3 this year
I don't think I'll be picking up the NX at launch unless they show me games! I'm going to wait until I see a proper lineup. I hate to admit that since I've always picked up Nintendo systems at launch but I still cannot get over how disappointed I've been with the WiiU. If I find out that the new Zelda game ends up getting released as a NX exclusive, that'll be the final nail in the coffin for me.
I'm sure others have had more enjoyment with the system than me. As weird as it sounds, Super Mario Maker & Super Smash Bros do not interest me one bit. I know I'm probably in the minority there. So technically my 2 favorite games on WiiU are Super Mario Kart 8 & Donkey Kong 64 (I've probably gotten more enjoyment out of eShop games with the WiiU than release titles...c'mon man).
Anyways, I'm going to pick up the NX regardless (I'll always be a Nintendophile at heart) but for the first time I'm going to wait a bit. Rant over.

I never got to play this on the WiiU. I'm totally picking this up when it launches.

Re: Practice Your Llama-Platforming Skills With Superola and The Lost Burgers, Jumping Onto Switch Soon
This game looks like it would be funny to watch (i.e. Youtube clips) but I would never want to play it.
Re: Portal Knights Gets A Retail Release In North America, Plus Chinese New Year Content
I know this has nothing to do with the game but the thumbnail pic reminded me of Lost Winds for the Wii.
I really liked LW1&2...I wish they'd make sequel
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Still playing DK64 on the WiiU. Trying to collect everything (or at least as much as my sanity will allow) before I decide to finish it.
Oh and I’ve been playing Final Fantasy Brave Exvius on mobile too.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Currently playing on my WiiU. Just finished Jotun and now I’m on DK64.

@RupeeClock I was thinking the same thing!

Re: Urban Champion Joins The Arcade Archives Roster On Switch
The arcade version of Punch Out! would have made a great DS/3DS release. Didn't it even use 2 screens?!

C'mon now...Mech Combat Game my eye.
Re: Swap Fire: Season 2 Seeks Kickstarter Backing for Nintendo Switch Release
Meh, I downloaded it on the Wii U when it was free. Didn't really like it to be honest. Glad I didn't have to pay for it.
I don't think Swap Fire merits a sequel. They should really just try to develop a different IP.
Re: Teslagrad Was Most Profitable on the Wii U Compared to Other Platforms
I bought it for WiiU and I thought it was great. Boss fights were challenging yet very rewarding. Looking forward to playing the quasi-sequel one day

Re: Weirdness: The Retro-Bit Mega Table is an Enormous $500 USB Controller
You'd have to get a glass window made to put on top of this table when you aren't gaming. Assuming the controls don't protrude over the edge.

Re: Review: Super Mario Run (Mobile)
Ugh...$9.99 might be bad but here in Canada, it's $13.99. That's more than what I paid for Guacamelee on my Wii U.

@bluedogrulez App store says 173MB

Re: Review: Free Balling (Wii U eShop)

10$ are you kidding me? Even for 2$ they should never let stuff like this on the eShop...
