the comparison to sea of stars ruins my anticipation for this game, genuinely loathe sea of stars.

@SplatRay001 i agree, my personal biggest gripe with the game Is the storage system. i wish it was more like dragon quest builders, where you have an almost infinite amount of storage...

@ToniK the learning curve is not too bad. you might need to look up some stuff but otherwise its decently intuitive. the game is entirely f2p friendly, the only intrusive micro transactions are for more frame and weapon slots, which only becomes an issue around 60 hours in. if you stick to one frame and weapon combo it shouldn't be an issue, though. also you get a lot of free currency at the start, be sure to spend that on more slots and nothing else. otherwise the micro transactions are pay to skip a bit of grind or purely cosmetic.

@greetbear monster hunter stories does not have the typical monster hunter structure, it is a turn based JRPG with monster hunter monsters. There isnt the traditional monster hunter action gameplay in it.

I decided to get the game on pc due to it being on sale for around 20 dollars and being able to get better performance, and im not regretting it. This game is stellar. I am running this game on high graphics at 120 fps, around 4 times the performance of the switch version, so I dont regret my decision.

sweet! i absolutely love this game, but im not sure if i will play it much on the switch 2. I run it at 180 fps on my pc, and i think that will be hard to give up
