In case you'd somehow forgotten, Dragon Ball FighterZ is kicking and screaming its way to Nintendo Switch tomorrow. To celebrate, Bandai Namco has shared a brand new live-action trailer.
As you might expect, much of the trailer is dedicated to the way in which the Switch console can be played "anytime, anywhere, with anyone" and all that, although there's a nice comedic touch in there to help things along nicely. Of course, it does act as a nice reminder that players can use either a Pro Controller, handheld setup, or even just a single Joy-Con if needed, which is very good news indeed.
You can also link up two Switch consoles for local play, and up to six players can all join in the fun with the Party Match mode. All of the additional content such as the FighterZ pass, DLC, the Anime Music Pack, and more will be available to download directly from the eShop from launch, too, so we're sure fans of the game will have plenty to get stuck into tomorrow.
Are you excited for this one? Will you be buying a copy tomorrow, or perhaps you already have it pre-ordered? Let us know below.

I had forgotten about this. Looks interesting for fighting fans but I'm not into the genre. The only fighting game I'll be getting for Switch is Ultimate.
The whole time I kept thinking "Is that the guy from Dragon Ball Evolution"?
Good trailer, but literally nothing about it is specific to this game other than the footage. Like, if Nintendo wanted, they could swap out the simulated screen footage with any other game and reuse this trailer for years to come.
@SmaMan You miss the whole Beerus -> persian cat gag?
This trailer is false advertising... it shows Beerus winning. From what I've heard online & from my friends, it takes an epic master of the game to pull that feat. off.
@Datwun Very true, I noticed the Beerus connection. Though surely they could swap out the Dragon Ball FighterZ footage for Disney's The Aristocats Switch?
Is the 3v3 mode where 6 people are playing their own individual fighter an online feature or just local?
@Datwun
Huh. Good eye. Yeah, I totally missed it. It's such a minor gag though that my point still stands. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if a Steam Direct-quality dev hastily slapped in their own "game's" footage on this and called it a day.
I spy a "Home Improvement" reference.
I'm old...
I can't wait to get it again.
Preloaded and itching to fire it up.
Preloaded and itching to fire it up.
Now with 4 seconds of actual gameplay
My copy is dispatched, but now I’m nervous no reviews are out yet.
We know the game we’re getting, and there was the demo. But if there are any glaring technical issues I’ll only find out once the reviews go up.
Have this for PS4 and I played the beta for Switch. They did such a good job with the Switch version, that I’m double dipping. The advantages the PS4 has over the Switch are noticeable, but easily overlooked. Having this anywhere I go is too good to be true. Super jazzed.
Nice cameo by Wilson!
There's no way that group of people would be sitting around playing FighterZ, and there's no way they'd be using a split Joy Con to do it. Commercial is ridiculous.
That said I'm stoked about this game. Already preordered it!
@RupeeClock "Is that the guy from Dragon Ball Evolution"?
I spent the whole time thinking it was Zach Braff.
I played a few rounds on PS4. Fighting games not my thing - but the game looks awesome.
Hope it does well on Switch.
i played the beta test thing. it was pretty nifty but i don't buy fighting games anymore so unless it gets a deep discount at some point i'll pass.
Hope you guys support this. I honestly still can't believe it made its way to the Switch.
Gee... was all for this but the overpriced day one dlc has turned me right off.
I nearly got drawn in by the preorder bonus game, but resisted well. Waiting for a discount price.
@JoeDiddley the demo ran like a dream and they've only had time to make further improvements since then. I think it'll be fine
And still no eShop preorder in Europe so I guess no preorder bonuses for us then.
I still don't understand why they keep advertising to play outside... I cant see s*** on mine when I go outside!
Too many games, not enough money.
This is so great that this game came over.
This was a major, major release this year, and scored very well in reviews. 87 on metacritic I believe.
And 1080p 60fps, with full 720p in handheld mode. This pretty much makes the Switch version THE one to own. Practically everything the other versions have, but with the standard 3-in-1 triple value of being on Switch.
I even have a fight stick on Switch I bought for Ultra Street Fighter II (a phenomenal game btw, my fave SF redone with beautiful hand drawn HD modern graphics). Man, everything is so exciting when it's on Switch. Great games become legendary games.
I'm literally holding my copy I ordered from Best Buy now. I guess the street date was broken?
TFW grandma beats you
TFW grandma beats you with one joycon
TFW grandma beats you with one joycon as beerus
@Warioware they said there was technical and timing issues. If you order in first month you get the bonus content
I don't think it's going to hurt sales at this point.
But I don't think "family and friends who want to play around the couch together" is the demographic Dragon Ball FighterZ appeals to.
I think a commercial exaggerating how excited Dragon Ball fans are would have made more sense.
@EmberTune Haha, Wilson
Amazon delivery of this should arrive tomorrow, cannot wait
Cat lady for Smash?
...nah, that joke's too cringeworthy even for me...
God that commercial was cringe, I didn't even finish it. The actual trailers for the game do it justice.
Just bought the regular edition and got some Day 1 bonuses.
The DLC is expensive, so ill pick those up gradually with gold coins.
I enjoyed the small details on how the young gamers team are dressed in the same color scheme of the characters they chose. That and the Beerus siamese cat lady.
@kobashi100 Thanks for the info, that's good to know
@Royalblues they've already said it's 1080p 60fps in docked mode and 720p 60fps in handheld, which is fantastic!
Day one for me
I preordered this from Amazon and got no preorder bonus codes ...
@EVIL-C Target had the game out 4 days before the release date. I tried to get it the day before but when an associate tried to ring it up that day, a flag came up saying he could not ring it up til the next day (the official release date). I also noticed that the game was selling for $40 at Target so I was eager to get it before they noticed the mistake. Friday evening, the only copy was still in its anti theft case. An associate rung it up and initially, the register said the game was $60 but I showed her the price they advertised on the shelf and she gave me the game for that price!
Anyway, I was a little disappointed upon opening the game. Many of the covers on Switch games I've bought had double sided cover art. This did not. The season pass DLC price is also 15 dollars more than other Switch games that have similar offerings. However, Except for some in game items I believe all the DLC characters can be gotten in game but I'm not totally sure about that.
Having played for several hours, I love the central area, the artwork, and of course the awesome gameplay. My free Nintendo Online ran out Friday and I did not try the game out until yesterday so have not been able to tryout the online aspect of the gameplay.
