Sega has revealed that Sega Mega Drive Classics will be making its way over to the Nintendo Switch later this year, bringing some exclusive features along for the ride.

That's right, the Sega news just keeps coming; we've just seen Puyo Puyo eSports be confirmed for Switch, the first two Sega AGES titles are releasing this week, and now we've had confirmation that this classic compilation is arriving on Nintendo's newest console, too. If you're unfamiliar with the game, Sega Mega Drive Classics released on PS4 and Xbox One earlier this year, giving retro fans the chance to play through over 50 titles split across multiple genres. There are arcade action games, shooters, beat ’em ups, puzzlers, and various other hidden gems, all with a raft of modern features included. (We've provided a full list below).

Before that, though, we thought you'd like to know more about this new, fancy Switch version's exclusive features. Players will now be able to compete in a same-screen local co-op mode using one Joy-Con each, and will also have access to the previously released modes and features like online multiplayer, achievements, mirror modes, and rewind and save states.

Now then, without further ado, here's that all-important list of games.

It's interesting to note that some of the games included in this game are also being released separately as part of the Sega AGES range, so you might want to compare both collections and weigh up the pros and cons either way before making a purchase. Either way, though, the Switch is about to be home to an incredible amount of Sega goodness.

The game will release both digitally and physically this winter, with pre-orders from some retailers expected to go live today in Europe and North America.
