Re: Take A Look The Stunning Nintendo Switch Box Art For Mario Golf: Super Rush

SuperCharlie78

@Andee I'm a fan of E'sG too. Turns out Camelot developed the very first installment in 1997, before the series went to Clap Hanz.
Maybe they're returning to that less wacky style, now that Everybody's Golf looks more and more like a thing of the past?
Infact, this will be my firts Mario Golf ever, I've always ignored it and tbh I'm fine with more sober course design.

Re: Open World Vaporwave Detective Game, Paradise Killer, Is 30% Off On Switch

SuperCharlie78

@KateGray I'm not saying these games don't deserve attention. They definitely do. I even did my part buying this one in the previous sale (was 30% too, iirc). Sorry for not having played it yet though, too many good games.

I mean, in a day when 600+ games go on a previously advertised sale, it's weird to se a news article about just this particular game, it's so random. It'd be preferable to have one that highlights a bunch of good games that received little attention before. Like: "10 games from the current eShop sale you need to buy", or the sort.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Overtaken 3DS Lifetime Sales In Just Four Years

SuperCharlie78

@Damo So this must imply that, while the PS4 has been an amazing success, you really need to compare it to when they achieved 160-170 millions units sold between PS3 and PSP combined?
Let's be honest here: no one is going to sell 250 millions units in a single generation of gaming consoles again. But both Sony and Nintendo have posted some higher profits than before, so you see units sold is not all. Heck, Nintendo is going to post a record breaking figure in 3 months, with as high profits as the years they used to sold 30 millions DS + 20 millions Wii.

Re: The Switch Has Now Sold More Units Than The 3DS

SuperCharlie78

@megakasp Exactly. I think they have already reached 80 millions (11,7 M between october and december), there's no way this number from that source can be correct. Otherwise it would be a huge disappointment.
So, with a 28 millions year, they just need to be 25% down in 2021 to reach the Wii by the end of the year.

Re: Japanese Charts: Nintendo Switch Ends 2020 In Spectacular Fashion

SuperCharlie78

@GrailUK it's because the Switch follows a completely different sales curve compared with the Wii. It has huge support coming in terms of software and will end up this calendar year at least with 26-27 millions units sold and a grand total of 80 millions.
It's pretty much a given at this point.
We should start looking at DS and PS2 lifetime sales, I think the Switch has a chance to become the best selling system ever.

Re: Review: Control: Ultimate Edition - A Highly Convincing Proof-Of-Concept For Cloud Gaming On Switch

SuperCharlie78

@BlackenedHalo Well, they made it pretty clear that the game is not running on the Switch and you need an internet connection to be able to play it. Still, if you happen to have a decent connection it's available to play on the platform, hence the review.

The game is running well enough for me, judging from the trial, but there's absolutely no way I'd spend 40€. Hell, I don't even spend this money for digital games (I have a sort of psychological limit of max 20€ for them), let alone cloud games.

Re: What Comes After Switch? Nintendo Discusses Plans For Future Game Consoles

SuperCharlie78

@SwitchVogel
I mostly agree, but I think the reasons are pretty clear by now. Switch is a great success, it's going towards 110 millions units sold, but more incredible than that are the INSANE software sales, with some games selling in the millions at full price and even more year on year. So it's not like they need to release a lot of games all at once, given they're getting a lot of third party stuff compared to previous consoles, too.
Besides that, a Switch game requires more resources and development time then the average 3DS game, I think you'd agree with that. Having said that, it's not true we're not getting the portable part of software output. We've got Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Clubhouse 51, Luigi and Fire Emblem on Switch, and I bet Style Boutique and Tomodachi Life are not too distant in the future.
