Re: Nintendo, Sony And Microsoft All Under Investigation Over Online Gaming Services

SuperCharlie78

"The emphasis here appears to be being placed upon the auto-renewal of the companies' online services"

And this is dumb. You can easily turn off the auto renewal with a click, and they told you so.
What we should fight hard is the absurd thing Nintendo (for example) obliges you to do before a purchase. They say you have the right of contract termination, but you can't make a purchase without renouncing to that very right. THIS is unfair. You could buy an almost unplayable game and there's no way to ask for a refund, because when you bought it you renounced to that right.

Re: Soapbox: I Don't 'Get' Smash Bros. And I Just Don't Know Why

SuperCharlie78

I enjoy Smash... For the wrong reason, probably.
Actually I like playing it quite a lot, since Melee, despite not sinking a ridiculous amount of hours in it (let's say 100 average hours per game). What I like the most is its encyclopedic nature where all these fighters are represented with stages, music and other references about their franchises and other characters from those franchises.
Just listening to all those music tracks would be worth a purchase. All these little details they always throw in, they really care and respect the games the characters come from and they show it. What I miss an AWFUL LOT is trophies. Ok the stickers are awesome and I could stay with them, but to put off all those sweet, sweet descriptions about characters, games, and other informations was criminal, Nintendo.
The game is not the most intuitive, apart from being a fighter with little in common with others. Maybe this lessens some players' enjoyment, too. It has to click, that's for sure, but you're not guaranteed it will do eventually.

Re: Media Create Boss Says Switch Will Have A Seven Year Life Cycle, Sales To Grow In Third Year

"The same report states that Wall Street analysts are divided on this thought, with some expecting the console to shift fewer units next year as opposed to the current year."

Haha nope. Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem, Luigi, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Zelda. Next FY's sales will be insane, no doubt about it.
For the current FY though, they should easily close with 18 millions units shipped, putting the Switch at nearly 36 millions in 25 months

Re: Early NPD Figures Suggest Nintendo Outperformed The Competition In January

@misterMike "It's not fair to compare PS4 and XB1 to Switch when they competed against each other and Switch competes against itself."

Mhh, this makes little to no sense to me, unless they retired the PS4 and One from stores, which they didn't.

The Switch success is even more impressive considering that other consoles had a 3 years line up already available and lots of big projects on the way, and that a Xbox One has been a lot cheaper than the Switch for ages. Even the PS4 is cheaper than the Switch lol.

@SBandy the PS4 is at 95 million sold already, it will reach 100 very soon. Probably it will end around the 125 millions mark, especially if they cut the price...

The Switch should reach 18 millions this fiscal year, 17,5 is a given, I dare to say. Which will put it at 35 millions at the end of its second year (plus the launch month). They've got quite the line up this year to perform like a beast both HW and SW. Let's see their next sales prediction at the end of april, I expect it to be beyond 20 millions
