Re: Nintendo President Says 20 Million Switch Target Failed Due To "Insufficient" Efforts To Convey Its Appeal

SuperCharlie78

@OmegaYato mhhh, 40 millions will be reached by july this year, probably. By the end of march they'll be comfortably sitting on 35 million Switch sold, that's a given. In fact, by revising the forecast they've been pretty conservative, they should have no problem to end the FY at 17,5, maybe 18, which is well over 35 LTD.
About the next FY, they're going to dominate the holiday season again with Pokémon and Animal Crossing, I can see them reach the 20 millions target and get 55 by march 2020.
Tl;dr nope, you're wrong

and is fast approaching the 15 million mark for the year ending March 2019 (up from 12 million during the same period the year before)

That's inaccurate. Last FY accounted for 15 millions Switch sold. So they've matched this result in just 9 months.

Last year they sold 2,9 million Switch units in Q4, so they should have little to no problems to reach the same goal in this Q4, and since they are at 14,5 millions until December 31th, this means they'll reach 17,5 millions by the end of the FY (probably 18).

I think they expected Labo to shift more units until the very end, but it failed in that regard. But 17,5-18 millions is exceptionally good anyway

Re: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Launch Sales Were Actually 56% Higher Than On Wii U, Not 24.8%

@teamdave2002
It's just my humble opinion. Actually I don't know what to think about this game's sales (I like to watch at videogames sales, not that this is some vital stuff).
The WiiU was such a failure most people didn't know about its existence, or they thought it was some Wii peripheral or the like.
Switch is another beast entirely, just thnik about those 17 millions that didn't own a WiiU, I bet many, many of them just happened to know this game.
Think of my 6 years old neighbour who just received a Switch for Christmas, it's a given he's gonna see this one at Gamestop and ask his father to buy it. No, he must know it now because of all the YT advertisement the game is receiving. His father will buy it gladly because of that Mario nostalgia.

I bought it and played it on WiiU, just like the other re-releases I'm not interested, not at this price anyway.

Re: Talking Point: What's Next For Nintendo After Switch?

SuperCharlie78

"The question that Nintendo has to answer next is how unique that approach will be when moving into the next hardware cycle; can Switch possibly sustain the company for the next decade, and if not, what comes after?"

I think they should keep the concept and IMPROVE it. Sony has done little to nothing in terms of HW innovation for 20 years, and still managed to sell 450 millions units.

Do the same Nintendo, but invest the SAME in your FP studios and SERVICES, like Sony did

@Garage yep, you're right. The only one already released was Mario's during the beta test.
Anyway, I'm still enjoying this game a lot, because it's STELLAR. So sad Nintendo did big mistakes with it. The single player mode it's always been mediocre and the matchmaking was too punishing for beginners until the very last update.
Now it's almost perfect but sadly most players have abandoned it
